@yourboycal My guess, the speed of light may be a probability distribution and not a universal constant, in which case the neutrinos were moving faster than the average speed of light, but still slightly less than the local speed that the individual particles were bound by.
If so, then some of the neutrinos should have been slower than expected by about the same degree as those that were faster. I haven't seen any mention of this, but it wouldn't make exciting headlines so I'm not surprised.

The only thing I don't like about the graphic representation of space fabric is that they always represent space (in our solar system) as being a flat surface with a ball (the sun) sitting on it, making an indentation in the surface. Wasn't the concept of "space-time" created along with Einstein's 1905 Special Relativity paper? He needed it to explain how physics worked in different inertial reference frames, I don't think he discovered the idea of space-time while working on general relativity, he just found a way to use the idea in a more general manner.

@yourboycal My guess, the speed of light may be a probability distribution and not a universal constant, in which case the neutrinos were moving faster than the average speed of light, but still slightly less than the local speed that the individual particles were bound by.
If so, then some of the neutrinos should have been slower than expected by about the same degree as those that were faster. I haven't seen any mention of this, but it wouldn't make exciting headlines so I'm not surprised.

The only thing I don't like about the graphic representation of space fabric is that they always represent space (in our solar system) as being a flat surface with a ball (the sun) sitting on it, making an indentation in the surface. But space is all around the sun, so I try to imagine it like a block of foam, and then the sun is in the centre. What would this do to the foam? I imagine it would make the foam bulge outward all around. How would this attract matter?

same way you can get into far galaxies faster than light without any moving, but making the space move (best will be after proving of gravitational waves.. i need to do research if it is proven or not yet)

Assuming this was enough mass to have gravity kick in, if we placed an object that is not buoyant in the planet's water, at what point would it stop sinking? Would it stop at the centre? @yyGODyy other nice thing... if you dig a hole in earth, a tunnel that joins 2 parts of the earth passing through its center, then if you will jump into it (assume no friction) then you will keep accelerating up..after you pass the center, you will start slowing down, and finally you will you will reach the other side of the planet after 42 mins... but the better thing, if you make from example a tunnel between New York and Hong Kong.. and jump into it, it will take 42 mins too to cross. :P

I don't know if this is right, but it makes much mores sense that gravity is an effect, not an actual force. The force at work is none other than that of electromagnetism at great distances. Gravity is simply a new word to describe macro-cosmic scale interactions of large aggregates of matter via electromagnetism, or electricity in general that is moving throughout the universe.

I guess it's not as simple as that. But magnetism is certainly a huge factor in the way the solar system operates, at least some people think so. But maybe there is another face to electromagnetism, another aspect of the geometry it produces. I know the math expects some sort of carrier particle, is that true?

I just realized that you aren't taking a few things into consideration. First, when we talk about the effects of electromagnetism at large distances, we are talking huge energies. Second, it isn't simply magnetic attraction or repulsion, but there are electric currents and charges flowing throughout the universe. Also, electromagnetism doesn't simply override the principle of mass. Maybe we could do an experiment, we just have to get real clever in this pesky devil.

Wasn't the concept of "space-time" created along with Einstein's 1905 Special Relativity paper? He needed it to explain how physics worked in different inertial reference frames, I don't think he discovered the idea of space-time while working on general relativity, he just found a way to use the idea in a more general manner.
