Congrats to these boys who for such an amazing display of patients and endurance to achieve what they set out to do. I've always used patterns on Pacman and Ms Pacman and can beat anyone. I don't need any book to tell me different. You go with what you know, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
@robbierob1969 the only person talking about 1982 is you. props to these kids for doing what they did. it requires ungodly focus and patience. patterns are weak sauce _now_.
In Pac-Man, you CAN'T EVEN GET 5,844,040! It must have been 584,440. Ridiculous. Jeffery even kept dieng, and look at his score! 1,370! At the laundromat in my town, the Pac-Man cab is VERY jittery, but I can still play until LVL 8 (on hard!).
I think Jeffery and Ricky Mori should get themselves a Nintendo Game Cube; Playstation 2 or Xbox and get Namco Museum because they should get the over 3 million record on those systems.
Always awesome to see a Pac Man kill screen. I just don't have the skills to get anywhere near that. I love it when he says "I'm so bored, I just want to quit right now." "I'm only doing this for you guys, and to possibly get a world record." Hah!
No one is saying Ricky Mori is the world champion, he was a pioneer in the fact that he ended the game on camera before anyone else, if you have documented footage from the early 80s of the same achievement please post it on youtube.
the berserk part of the story is a lie. because the pacman has in total of 256 levels or 256 decimals which starts at zero to 255. but when you get there the game messes up from over placement of the fruits uses the places on the map. people have done it but in laps of time with mame plus the fact they played about 5 mins or so a level which means every 12 levels would be a hour and 144 levels would be 12 hours yet it says he played for only 4 and a half hours. meaning they lied.
@lolcannon2 On the 10th of Jaunary 2011 a worldwide boycott of youtube will take place. Which means for one whole day no-one will visit youtube. We want VEVO (and other companies) and their f*cking ads OUT. Do your part sharing this comment on as many videos as possible and give this one a thumbs up!
@lolcannon2 theres also the fact that in 1982, there was no way to circle the game. it was just an 8bit game? i think something like that. and the max score you could possibly get is 3.3m.... not 11m? or whatever the hell their bull shit scores were
Having grown up with Ricky Mori in North Beach, he's the Pac Man Man...he earned a small fortune figuring out the pattern for the game...he's still the best at age 42!!!
He admitted years later he lied about the score He barely got over 3 million in the past before the challenge. As in the video he had a hard time getting to the 9th key.
Perfect score in Pac Man is 3,333,360...Billy Mitchell achieved this. There are no legitimate means of passing level 256, so Billy's score represents a perfect game as well.
Jeffery did not continue he just started over and added the two scores together claiming it was one game. This was just a claim there were no other witness except his dad.
That was what a lot of players did back in the day. I had always theorized that he played a two-player game by himself and adding it together....which would have made it "more real," but still not eligible for a world record. Only one quarter (game) is allowed per attempt.
That said, 3.1 million at that time...and by players so young...is incredible - even by today's standards.
Interesting how Jeffrey covers his joystick with some kind of fabric....to prevent blisters, I guess?

Tunnel terror patter is just under a minute long.
x256 boards = 4.26 hours.
And there are even faster patterns than that.
You may now proceed to suck my balls.
