  • Schindler Glass Elevator

  • Why did you only go to 5?

  • that was the top floor on this specific bank of elevators. the other ones went to 7

  • Both of these elevators are dark.

  • yep, it was night time. and my cam does NOT do well in low light

  • Is the Montgomery elevator you filmed next to the Schindler?

  • touch sensitive buttons are not allowed in the u.s.

  • I've heard that I KNOW they are not allowed for the call buttons, but inside the cab, it might be ok? the alarm bell, door close and door open were not touch sensitive

  • ive been there. were are you visiting in NC?

  • I'm not exactly sure what ASME and ADA say about those. And why did you only go to 5?

  • 5 was the top floor served by this elevator

  • thats why i havnt seen them then where i am thats interesting why wouldnt the us allow touch sensitive buttons

  • they are as long as there inside the cab. also the door buttons, bell and any other emergency operating functions has to be a regular push button

  • You could get away with a touch-sensitive buttons provided a blind person is able to feel where the buttons is. Flush surface buttons are not allowed.

  • there were braile plates by the buttons. and the alarm bell door open and door close were regular push buttons.
