  • Saw them open for Pearl Jam in San Antonio. So badass...

  • @patientboy99, Geez, what year was that, wish I would have caught that

  • p.s. this was my first rock show ever! this is bringing back lots of memories!

  • this is actually from july 12, 1997, not 1998.

  • i like sleater kinney ALOT, but they are by no means my favorite band. however, when asked what the best live show i've ever seen is, i have no choice but to respond with "sleater kinney!!!"

  • I was at this show. This was the first time I saw them, or even heard of them. They opened up for Guided by Voices. Wow! Blast from the past.

  • just because they're different they're better.. just because they're friend w ian mackaye - hate this guy

  • totally amazing kick ass band. fantastic. thank you so much for posting!

  • they are so completely kick ass. absolutely amazing. thanks for posting!

  • source of youth period.

  • at first glance i thought it said "eat me out"

  • aaaah i love it! corin's voice is amazing. and janet is one of my favourite drummers. simplicity = good.

  • awesome song by an awesome band at the peak of their power.

  • nice voice

  • awesome. i miss them.

  • @ice9001. Learn to play guitar before you start a band? It's obvious that both these ladies can play well. Just because they don't do a ton of penis rock shredding like Richie Sambora or some crap doesn't mean they suck. This is fierce and energetic, Just because they don't sound like today's Clear Channel metal doesn't mean it's bad. So what do you like? Nicklesuck, Creed and Theory of a Dumbass?

  • @musicphan1

    word

  • I was lucky enough to see them in concert about 15 times in SF. I miss them.

  • ahh thank you so much for posting this. i was at this show! i was 13 and it was my first concert. i recorded the whole thing on cassette with a talk boy, but the sound quality in your videos is (obviously) much better!

again, thanks so much! finding this made me happy.

  • Fuck yeah!!

  • i saw them play in dublin bout 5 years ago, they were class

  • Makes me wish for a time machine! Great band, was lucky to see them in 2005. So much energy and intensity - Janet Weiss is an incredible drummer too.

  • me encanta esta banda ya que son mujeres cantando punk....

  • And to think they only got better from here on in. Sleater and Fugazi. What great great bands.

  • This is some of the hardest stuff I've ever heard. I can't stop listening to this album.

  • try bratmobile or partyline or the frumpies

  • awesome band. we some bands out like this now.

  • we do need some :P

  • It always sounded to me that these girls and Fugazi were a logical progression from early veins of punk. It kinda feels a little nostalgic. No?

  • Are there more clips of this show? You can't see my face, but I'm the guy with the slicked black hair jumping up and down next to the blonde that's jumping up at down.

  • YaY! Such a great band.

  • Irony? I don't think so.

  • Oh the irony.... my first kiss with my now husband was to this song. LOVE them.

  • Sweet, I was at this show. Thanks for bringing back great memories!

  • i was there!!!

  • Brilliant, I miss them loads. Is there a box set or DVD out at some point? I remembered seeing something on their website a while ago.

  • unbelievable band

  • well their from oregon so it probably was

  • Well, they moved to Oregon later on...

I think thats what you were trying to say...?

  • wow! please post more from this show

  • ok revisiting them, I am now convinced they are the real deal. Sleater Kinney are it.

  • i love this song

  • omg amazing

  • janet = drum goddess!!!!! (plus carrie and corin rock the world)

  • Both Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein are tremendously underrated. And Corin Tucker looks like she's ready to whip out a flamethrower. This version's pretty nuts...even faster than the relentless recorded version.

  • I'm sorry but they are all, so, hot!!!

  • Wow! They were on fire at this show!!

  • they were the next big thing. we are priveledged to have their songs to cherish.

  • I was blessed to live in Seattle in the mid 1990's and see them play live twice, at the Velvet Elvis and the Crocodile Club there. It is Pat Benetar meets Mudhoney. I have a sense of ownership of a stake in their rock and roll world, vis a vis, if we mention the name "Sleater Kinney" to most people, they wont have a clue what that means, unless they have driven on the actual road in Oregon that sports that name, the one the band named themselves after.

  • "Pat Benetar meets Mudhoney" really doesn't do them justice, they were miles above Mudhoney and light years ahead of benetar. Wish they were still playing

  • No. Sleater-Kinney street is in Olympia Wa. Well, I guess Oly-Lacy. If there is a Sleater-Kinny in Oregon it's not the one the band is named after. A lot of the music that happened in the 90's worldwide was spawned from the Evergreen state college in Olympia. The name of the band is homage to that fact.

  • i loooooooove these girls!!!

  • this video is amazing! haha they look os different on here than they do now.

  • Simply awesome

  • Too right, Corin must get a sore arm.

  • you know... there are a lot of videos on here of them doing this song; but your video really captures all of the energy-great work
