this is nothing more than big oils marketing machine at work. study ethanol and what it can be made from people and realize big oil is fighting ethanol again just like when henry ford made the first flex fue vehicle that he preferred to run on ethanol in 1908 but rockerfeller bankrolled the washington wives temperance movement resulting in prohibition thus making alcohol illegal and making gasoline our primary motor fuel for the last 100 years.... reverse the curse Ford had it right !
Big companies should not manufacture fuel... or this happens. Individual families are fully capable of taking their biodegradable food trash (donuts, fruit, vegetable cuts, etc, even clipped grass) and making their own fuel at home through a very simple process. All you have to do is add yeast and follow a few directions. This pulls from many sources, not just corn or sugar cane or any of it.... you literally use your TRASH. God, humanity is dumb sometimes.
If Environmentalists And Big Oil Are Both Opposed To Something It's Probably A Bad Idea The announcement was hailed as a first step toward expanding Ethanol use by the Ethanol industry and farm state politicians, but Environmentalists and Oil Lobbyists alike blasted the administration for pandering to farm interests. The corn lobby has been pushing this idea for many months.
Most people are slowly learning that diverting food crops to make biofuel for inefficient SUV's is a "Crime Against Humanity", but few people seem to understand the well-documented science of the deadly cancer-causing atmospheric "aldehydes" that are produced when ethanol from any source (food OR cellulosic) is burned in internal combustion engines. See YouTube video: "Burning Ethanol: DEADLY Aldehydes"
Biodiesel also produces these unhealthy aldehydes (like Formaldehyde and Acetaldehyde).
True. Corn sucks. I'm glad they bothered to mention that there are better crops, like switch grass. The ratio for switch grass is better than corn and it is a very good "CO2 scrubber".
Corn sucks for ethanol production. Sugar beats produce three times more per acre and there are even better crops than that. I think there are powers that are pushing the corn as fuel idea. Maybe even to cause the failure of ethanol as an alternative fuel. Sugar content is the key, corn plants are mostly cellulose, Wasted plant energy with all that stalk and root. I have several unused acres and estimate that I can produce more fuel than my family can use in a year on an acre and a half.

Actually, one of these two reports pegs switchgrass as increasing GHG emissions 50%.
