@bixntram This so called experiment failed to mention if all the kids even like Marshmallow's or not. If they don't like them why eat one right away? David Walsh and mediawise are nothing but a lobbyist group that worked with politician's that try to pass censorship laws. What ever points this Experiments try to make was lost when Mediawise try to use's it to promote David walsh book. Apart of having self control is not allow others to dictated you.
@Se7enBeatleofDoom "A part of having self control is not allow others to dictated you." No argument there. I don't know or care who David Walsh is. I watched a few of these vids, which I would suggest you might check out. If any of the kids didn't like marshmallows they sure didn't act like it. Some of them went to humorous lengths to avoid temptation. You ad hominem assertions certainly don't negate the experiment's findings about poor impulse control v.s delayed gratification.
Yeah... unless, if you had watched the experiment before commenting, you would have seen that bedore the test, the doctor actually asks to the child if he/she likes marshmallows.
PS : And my neighbour likes yoghurt. Interesting, huh?
gotta admit, in a 3rd grade classroom seeing about 90 percent of the kids rush to the first marshmellow it's pretty hard to wait for 2 marshmellows later.
Especially if the marshmellows are being given by an adult, because kids tend to trust adults less, (especially ones that are in a classroom for like a day or two, obviously there to teach you something 'important')
but it is cool if you're the one the kids getting two marshmellows at the end of the day.

@Se7enBeatleofDoom very dumb ideological comment. The results of the experiment show quite the opposite outcome. Wake up!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I'm sorry but this experiment sounds fake. Why?
Simply because a child who doesn't like marshmallows will not eat it. As simple as that.
P.S: I don't like marshmallows.

if he had referenced the experiment we might be able to see how they dealt with that issue
