It would sound better if you had left the Magnaflow exhaust pieces on there. Just cutting out mufflers and CATS is a hillbilly approach to exhaust mods. Also, removing the CATS is illegal.

@pitbullizer90 It has a V-10 (same motor as the Lamborghini Gallardo slightly de-tuned.) It has nothing to do with the plugs or injectors. Most V-10s and V-12s sound similar to this when they start up. Look up Gallardo cold start when you get a chance.

I'm picking up my cpo'd 07 S6 in 2 weeks once I get back from working out of state. I', actually trading in my 05 S4 for it. Can you go into a little more detail as the work done to the exhaust? Did they simply remove the mufflers and cats and leave the stock resonators on? or did the gut the stock mufflers as well? Do you have a X pipe?

Congratulations. All stock mufflers were removed, and 2 aftermarket resonators were installed to replace the stock ones. The secondary cat was deleted, leaving the primary intact. What's left the primary cat, 2 resonators, and an x pipe. Mandrel bent stainless steel piping replaced the existing parts, such as the mufflers.

Hi there, thank you! For horsepower gains, this car has a full cat-back exhaust system, and an ecu (onboard computer) tune. You can install these mods without worrying about engine damage. The only type of damage that could arise is from forced induction (turbos, superchargers) which would wear it out over time. But that's sort of an unrealistic mod for this car, and would be wildly expensive.

I also might add that, if you go ahead and perform an ecu flash, it must be done by someone who clearly knows what their doing; preferably an authorized dealer.
