@atallperson well stock the car has a factory "h pipe" all i had the shop do was cut out all the cats and weld in pipe, i prefer the deeper tone an h pipe provides over the raspyness of an x pipe, just my opinion though, ive heard too many x pipes that i flat out didnt like
@SuperMachOne your right dude i bought an 02 mustang about a month ago first thing i did was switch out the X for an H pipe, it was REALLY RASPY i prefer the deeper tone too. it came with flowmasters but im thinking of getting Magna Packs ^_^
i have a mustang 2001 v8 stock and i wanna know what is the series of that flowmaster coz i wanna instal an exhaust on it can you please answer for this please
@josephoreobeckner he obviously has to run heads or else there would be no poient in the pipes and you can tell there is no cats cause the amount of smoke when he revs it
my friend put a $500 plus flowmaster exhaust system on his gt and hes had it for a few months and then we got borla for it with short headers cant wait to see what they sound like
@guitarclaydo the 3.8 L is gonna get about 17 city and 25 highway, the 4.6 L gets about 16 city and 23 highway, so you heard right, not much of a difference at all, but the GT is way faster than the v6 :)
@SuperMachOne yup, they get about the same mileage and it really depends more on your foot. A heavy footed driver in the v6 is gonna get worse mileage than a normal driver in the gt.
@guitarclaydo I have a modded 02 but with stock gears. I'm very consistent at 18 city and 28 highway (550km/45l). But, this is when following speed limits.
thanks for all the positive feed back everyone! i love the sound of my mustang and wouldnt trade it for any other set up, it allows me to be loud and keep a great tone, i cant stand a car thats just loud and raspy cause they always sound like shit in the higher rpm range, but i definitely recommend this exhaust set up
I agree. I dont know wtf they're thinking with the sound of those new 3v's. i've looked into it and i think it might be partially attributed to the mufflers being all the way at the back vs the 2v's where the mufflers are forward of the rear end. the 2v 4.6's were the last modular engine that can give you that more traditional sound. just my opinion.
@mustangstevegt ive heard mid mounted mufflers on cars like mine, doesn't make much difference. the 3v's sound good, i love mine. just not as much as yours
@highlife0586 sure old big block power was fun, but to say drivers of modern cars dont understand real horsepower is a joke. my 2003 mach one with a 281ci (32 VALVE) motor, would squat on your 1972 mach 1 stock for stock all day long. ive ran my mach 13.4@108 1/4 mile stock
@infogatherer100 im gonna have to agree, i mean i love old school muscle more than anything and cant wait to get another classic, but even my GT would blow the doors off my old mach 1, but my GT will never beat the classic feel my 72 gave me, and i dont get near the attention in my GT as i did my 72, each era have their ups and downs...however there are some old school muscle cars that are monsters
@highlife0586 show me an example of an old school pushrod motor with whatever mod you could imagine that makes over 3hp per cubi inch! i dont thin you can. that said ther are plenty of 4.6l 281ci dohc 32 valve ford motors modded out making well over 843hp (281x3=843) to the rear wheels even. so i would say YOU dont know real horsepower :)
a cop wont be able to tell if you dont have cats or not just from the sound they will have to get down on there hands and knees to look and see for themselves and most cops are to lazy to do it and dont really give a shit so I wouldn't worry to much about it
@SuperMachOne hahaha that made me laugh, im thinking selling my v6 camaro for a 04 gt, but idk if it would be worthwhile to just save up for like an ls2 gto, my biggest factor is that the stock hp on these is like 260 so im afraid i wont be able to put any other v8's down. whats your input?
@IamAtree000001 honestly man id look for an ls1 camaro or trans am if you are wanting a car that will seriously respond to mods, i love my GT dont get me wrong but even with full bolt ons and gears it probably wont even keep up with a stock ls1, thats why i bought some nitrous :) fords modular motor really isnt much of an N/A motor, but can be a monster with FI, so if you have money to super/turbo/nitrous a mustang its worth it, as far as the GTO goes yeah they are quick but they are heavy
@IamAtree000001 a stock 4.6 gt would probably get beat by the lt1 camaro, not slaughtered but they do have about 25 more HP and TQ, from a roll its a pretty decent race, but from a dig the lt1 would probably get ya, mostly because chevy actually puts good suspension on their cars compared to ford, but if you plan on getting a GT and modding it go for it man thats what i'm doin, i love my GT, but if you want to build a race car, a GT isnt gonna be the best platform to use :P
@IamAtree000001 yeah man its great, the torque on these cars is just fun, the blocks are good too, i just ran my 100 shot of nitrous about 30 minutes ago and it was bad ass, and my only mods are exhaust, cold air intake, and ngk plugs, these cars run 100 shot stock just fine, no timing adjustment or anything, exhaust sounds beautiful, they look really sharp, yeah mustangs might be everywhere but who cares, thats why you make yours stand out!
@SuperMachOne my friend was telling me how i should skip everything and spend 2000 on a saleen supercharger since it would fit perfect, and just run low boost.
@sick92ssp nope Kansas doesnt you take your car to get checked they just make sure that the vins match up and the get the mileage of the car along with wat engine size rather it be a V8 V10 V6 V4 etc... My 94 Cobra wouldnt pass for shit in Missouri when I moved there thats why I had to change everything it sucked
I got a 2000 GT with x-pipe (pypes) no/cats and 44s. You want to talk about one bad as sound comming out of a mustang. It scares the shit out of people when I drive by.
hey thanks man, well i dunno you might have to find a website that will ship international, otherwise a hand held tuner would do the trick but those run like $350 bucks, those are the only 2 ways i know of that would do it
well its pretty much a stock o/r h pipe, i didnt buy an aftermarket one, all i had the guy do was cut off the cats and resonators and just weld in pipe where they use to be, so i mean i still have stock piping size but it sounds amazing
my best run in it was a 13.9, that was my first and only time at the track lol but its still a decent time, next time i go ill have my 120 shot in and ill get a vid of it too
ummm well they all have the same body style but you have v6's of all the years, a 1999 cobra i believe, gt's of all the years, 2003 and 2004 had the mach 1s and supercharged cobras, however they all do have physical attributes that u can tell them all apart
hey man for starters just look at the rear bumpers and you will be able to tell wether its a v6 or v8. the v6's dont have dual exaust therfor they dont have exhaust cut outs. all others do have cut outs for the exhaust. in 2003 they came out with the cobra and mach1. the cobra has different hood bumbers and side skirts. the mach1 has a differnt hood and has a fuctional hood scoop the cobra and mach1 also have the same engine but the cobra has forged enternals and a super charger the mach1 doesnt
check out my other videos, i have an exhaust vid of my old 99 v6 mustang and i did the same thing, had an o/r h pipe with flowmaster original 40s, so if that answers ur question about the mufflers i use, im pretty partial to the original 40's, they sound amazing, in my opinion the super 40's are all loud and no tone, but check out my vid for an idea, as far as the custom o/r x pipe i couldn't really tell yeah, theyd have to bend pipe and stuff, itd probably be easier to buy an aftermarket x pipe
This is one of the nicest sounding exhausts I have heard, thats a nice one, maybe your video quality is just better, I dont know, but thats a badass Mustang!
i paid an exhaust shop to just cut off the cats and resonators, so i pretty much have a factory o/r h pipe, cost me $250 but that will vary from shop to shop, i think i over paid but the guy did great work so thats all i care about
flow masters are the best muffler for proformance and sound. i have a nissan frontier as well as my uncle and he has the super 44 series and its a 4.0L v6 and his sounds preaty dam low for a v6
all i did was have an exhaust shop cut off the cats and resonators so i pretty much have a stock o/r h pipe with flow original 40s...cost me $370 total but price will vary from shop to shop
Gotta love this sound!!!I have the org 2 chambers as well with a bassani ss X-Pipe on my 01 GT and i just cant get enough haha...Who cares if flowmasters are played out..Theres a reason they produce the most aggressive tone and get the better hp gains enough said..
definitely the best sounding mustang on you tube. many are way too loud, i know its personal opinion so i dont need everyone on my ass for the comment. but this one sounds clean, not any of that shitty popping noise, its done right. great car!
Nice, I never liked yellow but the yellow they used on those 40th anniversary mustangs is just beautiful. Looks like a clean ride, sounds like my 98 GT since I have the same exhaust set up, a little different though since you have the PI engine.
thanks! and nah i dont think so, the only way aftermarket parts will ruin the warranty is if they can prove the aftermarket part is what caused the problem
Thats funny, your car sounds like a dog. You should really get that checked out...

all i did was have an exhaust shop cut off the cats and resonators so i pretty much have a stock o/r h pipe with flow original 40s...cost me $370 total but price will vary from shop to shop

Gotta love this sound!!!I have the org 2 chambers as well with a bassani ss X-Pipe on my 01 GT and i just cant get enough haha...Who cares if flowmasters are played out..Theres a reason they produce the most aggressive tone and get the better hp gains enough said..

they don't give good hp gains, but it's still my favorite sound. especially on a mustang..

definitely the best sounding mustang on you tube. many are way too loud, i know its personal opinion so i dont need everyone on my ass for the comment. but this one sounds clean, not any of that shitty popping noise, its done right. great car!

Nice, I never liked yellow but the yellow they used on those 40th anniversary mustangs is just beautiful. Looks like a clean ride, sounds like my 98 GT since I have the same exhaust set up, a little different though since you have the PI engine.
Very clean and great sounding I love it.

niiiice! did that mess with the warranty?
boxerman223 3 years ago
thanks! and nah i dont think so, the only way aftermarket parts will ruin the warranty is if they can prove the aftermarket part is what caused the problem
