  • you aint to cool now is you nigga

  • Chronology of this story..

    -He say, she say

    - The Coolest

    -Gotta eat

    -The die

    -Superstar

    -The Coolest

  • @lilpele9 its not superstar its put you on game

  • @lilpele9 shouldnt it be the cool after superstar? well before superstar and superstar explains the whole thing in the end?

  • You should have put Superstar in between the two, kinda follows the story.

  • One of the sickest beats on both tracks

  • Sick video :)

  • no not hollywood. hollywood is satins playground and lupe fiasco is against theilluminati. KILLUMINATI!

  • Ak47 ;)

  • 1. Real Recognize Real (From one of Lupe's mixtapes. He introduces The Game & The Streets)

    2. He Say, She Say

    3. The Coolest

    4. Put You on Game

    5. The Die

    6. The Cool

  • @Grandmuscle what about "gotta eat"?

  • @bl4kstarr Yeah so what number would that be?

  • You get the beat Quote from this song " hustler for death no heaven for a gangsta"

  • This is my favorite song from Lupe, The Cool being top 5. Dude's the representation of what hip hop really is. If you don't understand that, go hit your hemi, or sip your sizzyrp, or smoke your kush like all your favorite rappers keep talkin bout. You wanna learn a thing or two, Then listen to this man. Once Nas dies, this man will be the best rapper alive. AND YOU KNOW THIS... MAN!

  • realest story in a rap song i ever heard since brenda's got a baby

  • i really like how you broke down all the entities in lupes music and showing that he has a over arching story line from cd to cd

  • lupe fiasco is the greatest rapper ever.better than eminem,2pac, bigge ,and every rapper.thank u lupe for your music

  • Gemini kills it

  • I lol'd at the end of this song.

Not "The Cool" part, The Die part.

  • I lol'd at the end of this song.

  • good song. idk about the images though

  • 2:16 is that the inside of an rx7 fc haha sick nice ass car in a dope as song!!!:)

  • DONT DUMB IT DOWN! KEEP YOUR GAGET FLOWING!!!!

  • cause they coming for ya head

  • lupe is the best rappa out there, he should be known more than he is.

  • Nice transition from one song to the other. Damn this dude is too cool 4 T.V.

  • Lol lupe is funny he said remember my nigga there's a heaven for a g but in the cool he said hustla for death no heaven for a gangsta.

  • Notice "The Cool" is playing on the radio when Michael Young leaves the car.

  • @GoldenTate4Heisman So the guy who walks out of the car is Michael Young AKA the cool? The guy sitting waiting in the car is somebody else? Which means, 6 shots fired, 3 for the driver, 3 for Michael Young on his way back to the car? And who kills them? I'm confused. I don't know if these metaphors are supposed to connect like this or if we're looking at more than we were supposed to lol

  • If you want to know the whole story, look up "Lupe Fiasco: The Proust of Rap" on Rap Genius. It shows in-depth explanations for all the songs and follows the entire "The Cool" saga. Let everyone know so they can appreciate Lupe Fiasco's epic poem and give him the respect he deserves!

  • Wow Lupe never fails to exceed expectations. You can even here "the cool" playing on the radio of the car when he gets shot. Lupe is a mastermind. He's the king of metaphors. Best rapper alive no doubt!

  • lupe fiasco should make a movie out of this

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the story of Michael young goes

    He say she say

    The coolest

    Gotta eat?

    The die

    The cool

    Put you on game

  • @HotRod263 no the coolest comes in between the die and the cool bcuz he dies and in the coolest the tomb opens and they r asking the lord for forgivness and the background is like a funeral choir or sumthin

  • @superacmilan1 no the coolest come before the die cuz thats when he reaches the pinnacle of his hustle nd wen the game gets jealous of michaels nd the the streets relationship xcept for gotta eat i think thats probably the whole series maybe though both kick push songs

  • @marzafterdark whatever. everybody has their own theory. i still think the coolest is at his funeral though

  • @HotRod263 You could be right... But I thought it was like this:

    1. Real Recognize Real (From one of Lupe's mixtapes. This introduces The Game & The Streets)

    2. He Say, She Say

    3. The Coolest

    4. Put You on Game

    5. The Die

    6. The Cool

If you watch the music video for Superstar, it has secret appearances from all of the characters. The lady in the gold dress is The Streets (if you watch carefully you see green dollar signs in her eyes. And there is a guy with a skeleton hand who is wearing a key

  • @HotRod263 if u can can u put all of those together in one vid that'd be so cooool

  • "fitin to go in the club, show a little love, get a few drinks, holla at some girls, snatch up a pair, leave outta there, thro some dro in tha air, then catch a few slugs" hahah

  • gemstones is awesome but every 2nd word he says is nigga

  • Best 3 rappers in my opinion jay-z, fabulous, and Lupe (not in order)

  • whose the best rapper alive right now? oh yeah thats right lupe fiasco

  • @judgment1225 I'd say Nas right now, just becaus ehe's accomplished more.

Nas and Lupe both tell stories in their songs, the reason alot of people dont like them is because the stories go over their heads and they dont understand

  • you guys are kinda getting it mixed up. the album "the Cool" was based on the song from his first album, cause, lets admit, that song was fucking amazing. the album is based on the story of Micheal Young History. im not sure about all the songs but definitely most of them. i just found out about this recently. it was amazing to me because i noticed a recurring theme in most of his songs, and to think that he has been making an epic story like this all this time, my mind exploded.

  • @ilikebacon247 you could actually make a movie from the story of his music, how amazing is that? :)

  • @ilikebacon247 All his songs are stories. which combined, create one big story for his album. Then, Combined his albums together, creating a MASSIVE story...Lupe, IMO, is the greatest lyricist to rap on a mic. But no one see's his talent, it just goes over their heads.

  • @PowShredder801 YOU understand. Thank you.

  • @PowShredder801 my computer made thumbs down :( but yes he is so talented

  • @PowShredder801 In one of his songs he says "I dont flow i ceiling" as in he goes over peoples heads

  • @PowShredder801 Lupe's story spanned his first two albums as well has his Fahrenheit 1/15 mixtapes.

  • you forgot that superstar is when god tells micheal to go back to earth

  • @konohaninja14 nope..it describes the fact that Michael Young History wants to enter heaven. Listen to the lyrics again.

  • @cisseusa123 he wants to but god tells him to go back earth because he didnt do anything right in his life and hell doesnt even want him.... i'm not wrong... god tells him to go back

  • @konohaninja14 Ok I see what you mean...you made it sound like he was in heaven and was going BACK to earth. haha But I got you man..

  • Second Verse = Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Nigga,Nigga,Nigga,Nigga,Nigga,Nigga

  • "if some niggas do kill you in the next few minutes just remember my nigga theres a heaven for a g"

"hustler for death no heaven for a gangsta"

    genius

  • Hollywood needs to take Lupe's ballad/epic and make it into a movie.

  • @2xN Its all big metaphors though, not a really big enough story with a plot

  • goddamn gemstone kiilled it

  • Lord please have sympathy and forgive Michael(MY COOL) Young History!

  • these songs dont even need a music video to know exactly what is going on, lupe describes it so perfectly

  • damn this video is dope.

  • 2 COMMENT BELOW BOTH OF U DON GET IT LUPE SOLD HIS SOUL!!!..HE'S GIVING U INSIGHT OF HOW THE GAME WORKS!!!

  • WOW Lupe is amazing and one of the best maship videos ive seen Both thumbs up

  • DOnt gotta eat tell how he ran his drug game. Thats when he first heard he was going to get killed right, rather some ppl wanted him dead

  • well I heard like groups of cows that all ya enemies wanna shoot ya down they got AK47's and a bunch of Mac11's semi automatic weapons that produce ka pows. LoL ToP 5 dead or Alive

  • man those pics where tough. Esp the green eyed lady. Where'd you find them anyway?

  • Y'all need to get off my case, and just appreciate the motha' fuckin' song.

  • If the gunshot hadn't been placed there, Lupe would have said Game and everybody wouldnt be so confused as to wtf he's talkin about. But since he didn't it's more like a mysetery or a cliffhanger I guess. Surely, you understand where I'm comin from with that???

  • The ONE person was the guy that got shot in the parking lot!!!

  • Everyone forgets about "Real Recognize Real" from the original, leaked version of Food & Liquor. That describes The Streets to a T, as well as a physical/symbolic description of The Game.

  • that car is Hot

  • just realized this whole album is pretty much about illuminati in hip hop

  • @sherifhysa but yo The Coolest is b4 The dDie becuz The Streets is also the green eyed lady right bcuz that is mention in the first verse of the The Die and is mention in The Coolest so that means Put You On Game is b4 that so I think it goes like He Say She Say Gotta Eat Put You On Game Streets On Fire The Coolest The Die The Cool I think it goes this , well thats the order I got from the songs but idk 4 sure And his name is Michael Young , not Michael Young History Listen to The Die
  • @KidInsain but yo The Coolest is b4 The dDie becuz The Streets is also the green eyed lady right bcuz that is mention in the first verse of the The Die and is mention in The Coolest so that means Put You On Game is b4 that so I think it goes like

    He Say She Say

    Gotta Eat Put

    You On Game

    Streets On Fire

    The Coolest

    The Die

    The Cool

I think it goes this , well thats the order I got from the songs but idk 4 sure And his name is Michael Young , not Michael Young History Listen to The Die

  • goddamn gemstone killed it

  • GREAT VID!!!! thumbs up....

  • Michael Young is the representation of The Cool what Lupe Fiasco's album is based on. This song is the conclusion in the series of songs based on the young boy from He Say She Say that got abandoned by father. The Street and the Game raise him, Lupes other two characters in the story...

  • @TheBestThereEverWaz sorry but whos micheal young?

  • @minilamby123 r u serious

  • @KidInsain yepp

  • @minilamby123 listen to

    He Say She Say

    Put You On Game

    Streets On Fire

    The Coolest

    The Die

    The Cool

In order and u'll get it

  • youtube IOTOS. he is one of the hottest unheard mcs out now.

  • the cool is such a great album. People who say real rap is dead clearly don't listen to lupe. This is one of my fav songs and it's basically unknown. Lupe has crazy flow and is prob the most intelligent rapper in the game.

  • Lupe, you ARE a genius.

  • how come my comment got deleted, you do realize that by deleting my comment you just went against everything lupe stands for, freedom of speech homie.

  • @abulkhair77 whatd u say bro

  • Comment removed

  • Gemstones ripped shit up in this.

  • good azz vid man

  • gemstones deserves props in this, he goes hard

  • This song is so good it fucked me up,Lupe Fiasco best rapper ALIVE!!!!!!!!

    other best

    Jada

    Common

    Mos Def

    Jay

Kanye(but hes not better than Lupe)

but shit this album is fire

  • GREAT VISUAL FOR THE STORY LINE, LOVED IT!

  • 1 person disliked :O............

  • this is how i think the order of the michael young history story goes

    1. He say She say

    2. Real Recognize Real

    3. The Die

    4. Put You On Game

    5. The Cool

    6. Streets on Fire

    7. The Coolest

    8. Superstar-Not really part of it, but i think it could be considered as a good ending to "the cool" since he is searching for a purpose plus he was in the music video.

  • @LightDarknessHero the coolest is a prequal to the cool actually

  • @LightDarknessHero it's all about how you interpret them...but you're missing a ton of songs...

  • he actually describes the game best on bet's cypher with him n papoose

  • actually the cool is da begiining.... it was on food and liquor.... it gave lupe da idea to make the cool into a album... the cool was intended to be entirely based on da characters the cool, the game, and the streetz .. but he decided at the last minute to make a selective few songs to connect to the cool with the album

  • He also got some other songs where he talks about this story such as The After Life(Street Stories), Theme Music to A Drive-By, I Don't feel So Good. For example in The After Life he takes the Streets away from the game(See thats where the jeolousy starts, the ice grills begin and the weaponry sparks), Theme Music to a Drive-By he is feeling remorse for selling drugs so he keeps covering his chain, and so fourth. Many of his songs are connected you just got to listen.

  • amazing song and video

  • @yelloke2006 what is it?

  • @MsQueenHotie thank you very much. I tried lol.

  • @artistethabeast holy crap ur good ,..must be committed good job

  • my life finally makes sense...

  • I didnt Know It was Story till I read About it..Lupe Is A great Creator,Very Genius Intelligent rapper He is

  • @DangerMouse232 pulled a yoda on that last bit didnt you? ;)

  • @desol89 Ahaha Yea

  • @sherifhysa actuallly what u hear at the beginning of "Put You On Game" is the Game laughing and then he lights a blunt.

The tomb opens at the beginning of "The Coolest"

  • dang its cool how lupe made a story with his albums, i wasnt expecting this when i got the first album, the man is pretty smart

  • @e10ish Genius Rapper

  • dose any one know the name of the song with the kids in the beat saying "if he aint got a chance then he aint got a chance or sumthin like that" plz help

  • Great Work Man. Perfect images perfect timing. Great work.

  • I just realised the front cover of The Cool represents the love triangle between The Game, The Streetts and The Cool :O

  • what happened to FnF man ? Gemstones was so sick

  • One of Lu's best songs

  • the flow

  • Which songs are about Micheal young history and is gem stones supposed to be him or lupe?

  • @1phreshprince1

He Say She Say - Michael Young as a kid.

The Die - Michael Young's death

The Cool - his resurrection as The Cool

Put You on Game - This song is about "The Game". Michael Young sold his soul to the Game, which is why he was resurrected as the Cool

Streets on Fire - About The Streets. Michael Young married the Streets after he sold his soul to the Game

The Coolest - This song is about The Cool and The Streets love affair

  • @ayyoitsmeagain yep, and he describes the streets and the game awesomely in "Real Recognize Real" which I think is also called "The Pills"

  • @artistethabeast props. I didn't know about that song.

  • @ayyoitsmeagain Thats sweet, didn't know about that. Are you sure He Say She Say is about him as a kid tho? I thought it was just for kids who grew up w/o dads in general

  • @86Snowi yeah remember in "The Coolest", Lupe said "The ones that had deadbeat daddies and well to do mommas/But not well enough to keep 'em from us/The ones that were fightin' in class/Who might not pass". He was referencing Michael Young's childhood, which was "He Say She Say". His childhood led him to The Streets

  • @ayyoitsmeagain i believe gotta eat is before the die

  • @tubetime3 explain. I always thought it was just a song having nothing to do with The Cool story but isn't it a metaphor for the fast food industry? Theres a lot of references to food like in the first verse, catch all the the double entendres like Mac as in Big Mac and grams, "made a whole lot of niggas fat", bread, buns, seeds, etc. etc. but fill me in if you see something in it that I don't.

  • @ayyoitsmeagain if you think about it he cant be a kid in he say and then jus have people wanting to kill him in the die without anything in between so if you put gotta eat there where he becomes one of the best hustlas and drug dealers which would make people hate him in the hood and want to kill him. also metaphorically he is stealing the streets away from the game which is why he kills him.

    my order:

    He say She say

    The coolest

    Gotta Eat

    The Die

    The Cool

    Put You On Game

    Streets on Fire

  • @tubetime3 Nice. Either that or Lupe hasn't written the middle part of the story yet

  • @tubetime3 put you on game was before he died because the game is who made him become a drug dealer idk about the placing of "the coolest tho" i always thought it had a funeral sound but idk..

  • @tubetime3 also the person in "gotta eat" might be a different character

  • @ayyoitsmeagain im pretty sure kick push and kick push 2 are also about michael young

  • @ayyoitsmeagain i thought i was the only person who got the concept of the album

  • @HolaBabyMilo When I look at the comments on the "Put You On Game" video, I feel the same way

  • @ayyoitsmeagain who is michael young?

  • @sekumme7 Michael Young is the main character in the story of The Cool. He dies and resurrects as The Cool. Listen to Lupe's first album and skip to track 10. Dude in the song is Michael Young. He's also the little boy in He Say She Say. If you listen to The Cool album, he died in "The Die". That happened before "Cool".. Now skip over to Put You On Game. That's when The Game spoke to Michael Young and resurrected him as The Cool.

  • @ayyoitsmeagain I think metaphorically it means Michael Young spent his life chasing the cool (and all representations of it). When he finally became Cool, he obtained the worldly treasures that he seeked but in turn lost his soul and became "the zombie" that he was in the track I told you about on Food and Liquor. You can also listen to Streets on Fire, The Coolest, and like artistethebeast said, The Pills, and someone mentioned a few other tracks that may or may not be linked to the story.

  • @sekumme7 There's a good description of each of the characters that I found and I put it in the information bar. Check it out.

  • @sekumme7 "Michael Young History" is the name and it's a play on words.. sort of.. (My cool young history)

  • @ayyoitsmeagain Put You On Game isn't about "The Game"... It's about the devil.

  • @dwhorezalso okay then why at the end of the song does he say I hope ya bulletholes become mouths that say my name cuz I'm the... (last word is supposed to be Game)

  • @ayyoitsmeagain And no, That' wrong, "I hope your bullet holes become mouths that say my name, cause I'm the (gunshot). The gunshot was made to hear last.

  • @StanHowse Yeah, the gun shot was supposed to cover up his name. I guess that flew over your head, or either you dont understand what I was saying by that. His name wouldnt be "gunshot". If you understand that the song is about The Game then you would know when The Game speaks and says his name is... then the last few words would be Game. It's the rhyming word with name. It's simple. The gunshot was placed there to cover his name

  • @dwhorezalso "Put you on game" Is about the physical embodiment of evil such as "the game"

  • @dwhorezalso loool The Game represents the devil in this story :)

  • @ayyoitsmeagain dont forget gotta eat History as a drug dealer

  • @ayyoitsmeagain who is michael young...

  • @mrmitchell15 Michael Young is the boy on He Say She Say. He grew up to be The Cool.

  • @ayyoitsmeagain:

thank u for listing the order of micheal young history!

    R.I.P

  • did you the song has a hidden meaning, Michael is Christ (take the hint from resurrection)

  • @irenewabissa No he's not, shut the fuck up.

  • @irenewabissa lupe is muslim so why would he have jesus in his music?

  • @gopack2k why can't he?

  • @gopack2k Muslims believe in Jesus too? They just think hes a prophet....

  • nanamzk-im mesmerized by the realness of this charecter Lupe has created in these songs.Which i only recently found out r actually an on-going story that vividly lays out the birth, rise,n inevitable death of Michael Young History.

  • Its been a long time since weve had a rapper this good. This guy is seriously going up to Pac levels. I think he may even pass him...that nutsXD

  • what is at the end of the song. bonus track? never heard it before

  • Tight!!!!

  • First off, I would just like to thank the person who posted this. Reall,y thank you.

  • yo, i've owned this album since it dropped in Dec07 but completely slept on this track. it took a long ass road trip over last Thanksgiving b 4 i really "listened" 2 this cut ... lupe is a fuckin' BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice video. you coulda thrown Superstar in between to show him getting rejected from heaven.

    i like the pictures though

  • THE DIE!

  • How do I find mp3iifffy to download this song? I was told to google mp3iifffy.

  • i like that you put it in chronological order since most people don't know the die is before the cool
