total bs, real world speeds in all the speed test videos/reviews I've seen got to around 60mbytes/s.

NEVER OVER 1gb/s let alone 5, 5gb/s= 600mbytes/s

@rollthetape88 - While Thunderbolt is truly amazing, it will not become mainstream for quite a while (if at all) - even Apple is only adopting it on its high-end systems. USB3, on the other hand is becoming mainstream because of its increased speed and backwards compatibility. 10Gbps is nice to have, but only if there are devices to connect it to.

My humble advice is to use eSATAp (eSATA + USB), why?

1) It just require a simple bracket(delock) that cost less than USD10.

2) Zero drive, no need OS or BIOS AHCI tweak

3) Backward compatible with USB 2

4) MAC Pro or PC compatible

5) Faster (or as fast as USB 3) as of now.

6) Self power a 3.5" HDD on a desktop

7) found in NAS network attached storage

Sata III is due out..which can tranfer a lot faster, combine that with a high speed SSD and usb 3.0 will not be as fast, arnt i correct? but they are faster than HDD's well by the sounds of it they will be :)

Yeah right after like 10-20 years the computers will be 10X faster and people will laugh when they will see stuff like 200MB/sec., maybe after 5 years it will be 200GB/sec or idk... And anyway it's fast depending on the capacities of the machine you use.
