@cjc5531 thx. set it up again tonight, practice for this weekend. your video was very helpful. put rain fly on it and stuck it all in the skins. you just cannot beat the time for setup and takedown.
what about if the rain fly got wet would you want to stow it away with the hammock in the snake skins or would you want it to dry out first??.....thanks.
Cool video. Looks to me however that you will have to leave all your gear outside in the open as it does not have the room inside for a person and a medium/large size backpack? Don't you think that's a big disadvantage?
f0xmuld3r...Thanks and most of you gear will be outside but mine has fit well under the rain fly on a small tripod that I tie together as needed. I also carry a lite mil trash bag in my packs for rain cover if needed. The weight and comfort to me out weigh my gear storage not being inside. Take care
@cjc5531 Thanks for the info. I guess that leaving your stuff outside is just something you would have to get used to. I feel a little ambivalent to doing so as someone or something might get to your gear.
As such I think that it limits the usage of a hammock a bit (in my opinion).
I was a little leery of spending more than 100 dollars on a hammock, yet, after I did I have no regrets whatsoever. A pad is really nice under your ass if it's cold. I've slept better in my Hennessy than I do in my bed, and my dog joins me when he comes with us... the only thing I can think of that would make this hammock better is if they made one for two people. :)
Thanks for watching....What I do with the gear is I take a light mil trash bag and cover my gear at night to keep dry and place this on the tree I'm rigged to. Sometimes its supported off the branches and sometimes tied off to the tree. Really depends on the tree configuration....
@Nisp2 I would really like to know that too as I too intend to buy one soon. I had wondered if you could attach hooks to the line that holds up the hennessy, possibly with some bowline loops (?) and hang it from there? What if my pack weighs 10-15kg?
Zackyjack I guess you could as long as you don't exceed the weight limit that the hammock was designed for....remember your weight combined with the pack weight, I would check with the manufacturer......
Mine came with it because of a web deal at that time where I bought a couple of tents. Not sure if you buy one tent if that is included or not. Hennessy has these for sale as well....
Great review! I bought two Hennessyhammock's. Both are the Deluxe Explorers. My son and i love them. We use our therma-rest pads in the hammock and it keeps the chill off our backs. We'll never go back to a tent! Love all your reviews. Keep em comin.
your review of this hammock is alot better that most of the others that Ive watched. I'm in the process of doing research on which hammock that I would like to get.
cjc, I set mine up for the first time today. Is the ridge line supposed to be really taut when you're inside?

When you put a pad/sleeping bag into the hammock, doesn't that block the entrance through the bottom?

icychap..Yes, but it's no problem to push it to the side when you need to exit ....

However, it seems comfortable an easy to set up.
