Madonna wasn't very pretty in the 1980s - certainly not like Pat Benatar or Olivia Newton-John. Maybe because she was so artificial looking. Madonna became beautiful as she matured and made an effort to have a more natural look. I saw her in concert a few years ago when she was in her mid 40s and she was almost beautiful - and not tacky/slutty like she was in the 1980s.
