i tried this car, its great, cute looking, and really nice features for its price. the only downside is the driver's space, im not even tall or fat and felt like the driver's seat is small for me. most Korean cars feel that way to me.

kia did update the soul for 2012. they added direct injection to both engines. the 1.6 makes 135 horsepower and the 2.0 makes 160 horsepower. also, they will have 6 speeds too. the base model will have a 6 speed manual only while higher trim levels will get an optional 6 speed auto. the 1.6 will be good for 28 city, and 34 highway. the 2.0 is good for 27 city, 33 highway. they really stepped up their game!

I love the soul, but FAIL! on the 4 speed auto. Car makers need to get away from them. They still use them. A 5 speed on the Soul, with a shift gate, would be great.

@datboiwes333 Ummm buddy Kia has had recalls recently with the soul as well and just about every car manufacturer has had one, that's life. And I would rather have a recal for a fuel pump that causes lack of acceleration then for a fire hazard due to the ignition system and music control on the SOUL

What can you really expect for a cheapo Kia? Why spend $19,000, when you'll be able to get a used one in 2-3 years for under $10,000? The depreciation on these cars is insane, I would never buy one new.

I've had mine for the past year (as a commuter car) and I'm a fan... it's worked out quite well. It's worth noting that the iPod cable/dock (USB/audio combo plug) is designed for the iPod specifically and will not show track info/playlists from an iPhone. However you're still able to simply use the single audio cable to play music from the iPhone.

All in all it's held up well, the mileage has been great and it's fun to drive. =)
