The video and the job made by these people is just brilliant, in the countryside of the poorest country on Earth you put a smile in the faces of the people, help them to improve their quality of life and most of all you made them feel they are not alone.
There might be slim to none chance to have significant effect on sierra leone. First of all look at their country like Africa, Haiti and all of the world, they're ignorant, uneducated and surely better off with the white master....Well that's my opinion.....
@Choseunman n ure entitled to your own opinion. the white master brought diseases to the so called third world countires and stole the wealth back then and even now. Here are some pearls I will cast before you in five years most if not all that was taken will be returned!
lets all stand up towards our national development. lets starts by being faithful to one another.. peace-stability -development start from you too..lets do the right thing..God help us. ameen
@karstenswelt i think that idea is great sierra leone will go from strength to strength. @ iceman 775775 you are a bastard for that statement you made its ppl like you that have the world as it is and the ppl of seirra leone will rise and make it better one day just you wait and see....
If it's so Awesome why do salone people run away , Ironic how you all want to help and jump at the first opportunity to get out.

I am going to Sierra Leone in February and work with a local NGO called Forum of Conscience to spread the knowledge of the content of the TRC Report among school children and encourage them to think about the future of their country. Let me know what you think about that idea.
im from africa , i was really shocked when he said "our white mastters" crazy ass mf ..... but at mean time i like the white correction ---- hey who evr u r the white people thank u for helping a
' i didnt see ur color of skin but i take u as a good ppl GOD BLESS ALL OF U
It is ridiculous for you to assume that these people had seen many westerners. What absurdity! The country was colonized by Britain and they have seen a lot of westerners. You make carricatures of my people for your own personal gains.I actually blame the people not you!
im tierd of this shit wtf listen ever time some talks aboult serria leone its civil war ,diamonds bla bla bla FUC OFF shit when the show africa its always fucked up parts and some white ppl come and help its like kinda like their ohh were sorry for enslaveing u well ..... ya hears some water wtf
am from sierra leone my self all igot to say thanks sierra leone is about the size of south carolina very small country we have lot mineral resources daimonds gold ect we are still poor because of corrupt goverment peace
Your editing is way too quick. What have you all got, attention span deficits? We are trying to see the country but all we're seeing is your quickfire MTV-style cuts. I was half-expecting Ashton Kusher to pop up anytime soon.
And keep the camera still next time. That home-video effect wears thin after about 7 seconds.
Apart from this I enjoyed watching it. What a country!
I travelled to Sierra Leone last year with work. Obviously there is a lot of work there to be done to get over the war, but I completely agree with several previous comments - some of the friendliest people I've ever met and some of the most beautiful beaches and scenery are in Sierra Leone.
my mother is from sierra leone she took me there in 97 just before the war I had such a wicked time! The place is beautiful!! better than any other beach ive ever seen
sierra leone have dramatic history....made by white people all most...we don't help them...just pay them back our "mistakes" read the history of this country to understand my comment.
What a great video. It is a truly beautiful country. I am always amazed how happy and upbeat the people in that part of the world are given their situation.
Well made video, thank you very much! I just got back from volunteering in the north of Sierra Leone with an ngo called Orphfund. Isn't incredible how much EVERYONE needs help there and how EASY it is to change things and improve the quality of living. It doesn't take much and we just have to make it happen. :)
this country is beautiful. when you live in the west all you see is negative images of africa. it is great that something positive like this is posted
Thank you so much for your work... I loved my short time in Sierra Leone... and was so sad when we had to leave... hopefully i will move back someday...
lol the goat is funny..they really will keep it for you until it dies, they are so sweet that way...
I am currently reading A Long way Gone by Ishmale Beah..wow... I have many friends from Africa..well all of them are infact. but none are from SL. The closest is Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal. The rest are fom Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.... They all have such sad and yet amazing stories to share! The stories of SL are similar. I just sit and listen as long as I can.
Ill do a workvacation next year, for like 3 weeks. And im checking videos of every African country i can choose. Im now thinking of Ghana/ Malawi/ Sierra Leone. But when i see your video, it seems like there is no danger at all, which is good. But when i watch other videos of Sierra Leone (Like 'Children of Sierra Leone') it seesm like its still not good there.
I think it is best to use any contacts you might have in the country for advice. Its not the safest country, and there are simple realities that we left out, for example we never left our hotel at night (its not like there is street lights anywhere)
Brilliant film, Dominic. Really enables me to appreciate just how much WTN's work means to each village. Imagine our village having but one well! Really inspiring - and beautifully edited!
