Just think of how the 2K games would look if SEGA was still making them! Seriously take a look at Yakuza 4 or Vanquish and tell me those aren't some of the best graphics you have ever seen! Its a shame SEGA is no longer making hardware or sports games. The could have gone so far...

@TaInTeDlYnX licences doesnt have anything to do with if the game is good/fun to play. But in MY opinion NHL 11 is better than 10. better physics, better at every aspect. they surely improved their game. What I meant with the press thing was that they're not right all the time but they're right about the latest games from the NHL series..They are all great hockey games, anyone who thinks differently is pretty ignorant. Anyone who rather play NHL 2k. thats ok. its a matter of taste, imo EA FTW.

@TaInTeDlYnX ok, ur funny. Is that why they've been handed out almost 10/10 grades like every year? Doesnt that say at least something? I would gladly play some 2k hockey if it gave me that feeling of realism like in NHL 11 for example. I really loved the first NHL2k game that came out on dreamcast. It was fresh,fun and much more realistic than EA's hockey and the graphics blew me away. But EA has succeeded in making a hockey game with a dept that the 2k series just doesnt accomplish

@arsletirott EA hockey is only better because fan boys like you buy it no matter what. NHL 10 is the same as NHL 09 and 08 if you look at it closly. Meanwhile 2K sports has really tried to improve thier game every year its been out. Also atleast 2K sports puts out a great game on the Wii while EA won't even touch it.

haha who's the fanboy here really. there hasnt been a real good nhl2k game out in a long long time. Maybe its enjoyable for some people but that doesnt mean they're good games. You're right about that EA's NHL has not changed a lot in the three past years. But they're still the better hockey simulation in every aspect

It actually DID catch on, but unfortunately Sega didn't have the 3rd party developer support, nor the finances to compete with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. The DC could've easily gone at least another 3 years...

My fav hockey in the history of hockey games are NHL 94, NHL 95, NHL 2k9 on Wii, NHL 2k9 on PS2 and NHL 2k10 on PS2 and NHL 2k10 on Wii. You can say alot of things about the Wii but hockey on the Wii is a great experience and very fun to play.

Yeah EA hockey did that in 97,98, and 99 for the Saturn and the PS1 and the 98 EA title on the SNES. 989 sports NHL title face off also did it in 97, 98, 99 and I think in 2000 also. Your right though I remember the days when we could choose from either NHL Face off, NHL 2k series, EA's brand, or NHL breakaway which was pretty decent also. Man I miss those days of choice in hockey gaming.

its too bad sega isnt making systems anymore.. dreamcast was the most advanced of the xbox/ps2/gamecube generation AND it came out before them. the dreamcast fishing rod did things the wiimote is doing now.
