And as for the facts, the Verizon build indeed takes up at least 30 times the land Smithfield Packing Co, the largest in the nation. @htfan199 was your problem with protein? You can easily fix that by eating tofu or whole grains. and if you don't eat any of those you can get it from beans and certain vegetables like kale or broccoli.

@htfan199 What you really need is Amino Acids. They are what our bodies metabolise protiens into. Protiens are not exactly what is necessary. It is more necsessary the Amino Acids. You can get them from several foods and Bragg's Liquid Aminos.

@ekiroto You don't even need special supplements. You could get amino acids from beans and rice, peanuts, soy, eggs, cheese, milk, and corn. All of the above have complete or near-complete proteins. There are only a few amino acids that you cannot get from plants, and those are non-essential and have little or no use in our bodies. We have to get the science straight.

Anyway, my point is there are supplements if you need them but really most people probably don't need them. Bragg's is tastey anyway. It's more like soy sauce than a dietary supplement.

By eating meat you are supporting the meat industry and the meat industry causes a whole lot of CO2 since keeping animals in farms needs alot of space and energy. Feeding these animals and keeping them fed up for the crave for "better" meat causes starvation all around the world. When animals are dragged to the slaughter (the slaughter requires ALOT of energy and space = more CO2) then the slaughtering provides CO2 as well because the meat needs to go through

And as for the facts, the Verizon build indeed takes up at least 30 times the land Smithfield Packing Co, the largest in the nation. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it takes WAAAY more power to run those huge-ass high tech servers, routers, modems, different types of cabling, air conditioning (for the machines), 24-hour help lines, their phone and cable services, than it does to run a slaughterhouse. Kudos for not even looking any of this up yourself before you ran your mouth off.

As a global catastrophe is unlikely, you should concern yourself with the health issues concerning diet, especially since your point was based on the principle of survival. Personally been more of a sporting type to a hunting type. I used to fish but I prefer to pit my wits and strength against humans.

@WVliberty People might listen to you if you form an eloquent argument. My issue isn't with eating meat. We have evolved to eat meat; that is evident, especially with regards to the function of our intestines in relation to frugivores and folivores. But I do take issue with the way the animals are treated in slaughterhouses. If you hunt your prey in the wild and kill them in a humane way then that's fine in my opinion. However, don't knock PETA. They are one of the most altruistic organisations.

Not widely using human as a food source is just down right inefficient. Beyond that if the person is fed correctly (high grain, little dairy) the meat is just delicious. I'd say promote self-sustaining, profitable and humane human meat farming or as some might call it, gathering!
