the veyron is good for what it is but back in 1988 callaway corvette went 255mph. the veyron 21 years later does the same speed. no big deal really... especially when you factor in the million dollar price tag.
but for todays production cars it is the fastest top speed, no doubt about it.
This car is amazing! More bhp than a Lamborghini Murcielago yet more than 3 times cheaper with a base price of 103,000 compared to the Murcielagos base price of 333,000. With the front brakes comming off the Ferrari FFX and the rear ones of the enzo and putting up speeds like this and 0-60 in 3.3-3.4 this car is a monster and will demolish everything in its way.
ZR1 is beast.... also a point in hand, the Gt r was driven had done 1,000 laps to get the time, is what the gt r driver said... zr 1 went rite out, did a couple and took that 1st position away ..... GT R doesnt stand a chance !!

This car is not lacking power, it accelerated to 205 and stayed there all the time. If it was to go faster it needs different gear ratios and different aerodynamics. Personally I think 205 is much too fast anyways. Whats more important is that the car handles well, and this one does.
Now don't get me wrong, I'd have one of these if I could afford it, but I think based on it's incredible lap times on the nurburgring (it beat the Bugatti Veyron's lap time by 11 seconds!), I'd take the Nissan GT-R over this. The GT-R is a monster in the corners, it can corner so well that it will cause you pain BEFORE the tires will let you down. Watch the Top Gear episode from last season where Jeremy drives the GT-R around Fuji Circuit, it's an awesome, awesome car...

by the way this car would go faster maybe like 250-260 if not for the tires,205 is what they're limited at. put better tires on and you'd be haulin balls! lol
This car tops out in top gear at peak RPM at 205. It has nothing to do with the tires. The car would need an additional 350-400 horsepower to rech 250 mph.

I`m not so sure about that. Most Corvettes can be modified quite easily. Just shorten the last two gears and nearly any Corvette will achieve higher speeds in faster times. GM tends to stretch the last to gears too much in order to reduce gas consumption.
Again top hear is already calling this zr1 the ferrari slayer of the 21st century. The enzo has only 32 more horsepower with an additional 4 cylinders. Comparing an enzo to a car that cost 1.85 million dollars less than itself and its not better its kind of sad you even made the comparison.

feel free to read motor trend's Science of Speed article where they tried to take a bunch of cars up to 200 mph. Result: None of them made it. Not even the Lambo LP640. Why? Because it takes a lot of effort for most roadcars to reach just 200mph.

Man you clearly dont see that EVERY car manufacture is beding hit hard, toyota reported something like 28% loss in profits, it's the big three thats being hit hardest because they are MUCH bigger companies all around and this began with trucks and none of the truck plants have closed to my knowledge. I could careless if a good car is domestic or forgien i began with sayin domestics never let me down and that N.A trucks are better that's my opinion and of many others.

To add to that point last year Toyota had more recalls then cars sold. You dont hear about it though cause the media is after the big three for being tied in with big oil so tightly. Thats what happens when you try to rush the market to quickly.

I actually worked at a chevy dealership and our lot manager who speaks directly with the big wigs in Detroit got that info from them in a fax and he showed all of us saying japanese quality my ass I got a good laugh out of it. Im sure if you google hard enough you can fine the info.

Key word "worked at a chevy dealership" and i didnt want a job at other ones and actually i drive a nissan frontier which gets shit gas mileage compared to a new silverado and my frontier has a little v6 and a silverado has a 5.3 liter v8 and gets 5 miles to the gallon better. Ya must be that shitty american technology thats getting better mileage then a little japanese truck right note the sarcasim.

and wtf do you mean by supped up? when was that even brought up? did i say i liked dodge either? 3500 duramax is chevy/gmc and i said ford not necessarily the f250 either. Yes it did, but it took so long to get there. European supercars would blast pass by already! Besides, it's just another vette with a supercharger and cheap interior, nothing special. In about five yrs, and this thing will cost half of what it is, then everyone can get one!

feel free to read motor trend's Science of Speed article where they tried to take a bunch of cars up to 200 mph. Result: None of them made it. Not even the Lambo LP640. Why? Because it takes a lot of effort for most roadcars to reach just 200mph.
