also take a shower before applying this to a sunburn,I learned that from experience when I was in Cuba back in April, had a bad sunburn used that plant and it turned me purple, the aloe vera and sunscreen interacted with each other.
look up the internal uses i have recently found out about that and plan on seeing what's up with that and maybe using it every now and again. also put it in a 5 or 10 gal. bucket and the roots will get really established and the plant will grow faster.
another good but rather costly remedy is Sangre de Drago translated to Dragon blood, its actually rubber from a tree and it works really well just as well if not better than aloe Vera.

@verisharp if you're talking about aloe, its not poisonous, and it is rich in many nutrients. Aloe is often added to medicines and nutritional supplements, and you can also buy something called "aloe juice" It doesn't taste all that great, but it's a good source of nutrients. =]
Hi Jeff, If you don't mind I would love to send a video responce tomorrow about my aloe plant that we have had for years and years. I planted it out by the pool and it took off like you would not believe. I also have an aloe plant I found that grows wild in Florida.
I have to recommend buying a plant, and not a seed. The seeds only appear when you cross two plants of different species, but all aloe breeds are very similar and do the same thing. I bought a packet of seeds in January and as of 5/21/10 it's only a cm tall. It takes WAY to long.
