  • @QuicktimeGT Yes, he had some head gasket problems with it. Not sure if he had the MP8 on the truck then or not though. I dont think he had the MP8 on it when he blew the stock gasket.

  • Ahhh Didnt notice the injectors. lol. When my 6.7 gets out of the shop today I am puttin my intake TBE and XRT on. Ill prob be settin pretty nice there. Gonna do the deletes too but ill just unplug for now. Ill clean the map sensor too maybe the intake horn once I start pulling stuff off to do the deletes. That truck sounds great though.

  • Yeah, they run good. Unfortunately the head gaskets dont seem to put up with too much abuse and it doesent seem like there is a clear cut fix for that yet. This truck sounds a lot better with the 64mm charger on it now. haha

  • Smarty rollin coal. Hmmm, Thats dif. These things are normally pretty clean vs the h&s. Maybe he needs an intake to get more air in. That might help a little. But you said he has a bigger turbo so I am sure its not getting starved anymore.

  • It was really clean until he put the injectors in it, and then it would smoke like it does here. With the new turbo it clears up to just a haze once its spooled though.

  • My 6.7 ran 488 hp with stock injectors, stock turbo, 6 speed auto, bully dog, MP-8, Air-dog 150, AFE, 5" TBE....his injectors must not of helped at all!

    Did you not read my comment a few posts down? Im pretty sure it was too much fuel for the stock turbo, so it didnt help him any. Heck, my 337hp 12 valve would pretty much run with him from a kick with this setup. maybe 6.7's are just slow?

  • The stock turbo on a 6.7L dodge is only good for around 375-400HP at the wheels. It doesn't flow enough oxygen after that point, the numbers are generally corrected which is dumb in my opinion. I would rather know what I'm laying down at my altittude. I definately believe the 533 with an aftermarket turbo though

  • got a quick question what did he have the mp8 cranked to or did he even run it just wondering numbers seem kinda low for the nozzles just ran mine mp8 smarty 460hp and mp8 xrt 476hp

  • He had the MP-8 all the way up. I dont think the injector nozzles helped him much at all really. I think they were way too much fuel for the stock turbo. I think that if the smarty had been on 7 it would have helped some. I took the truck to a dyno day for him last weekend and it made better numbers with the MP-8 turned down about half way surprisingly. Smarty was on 9 and he has a turbo now, and it made 533hp/1242ft lbs

  • I don't know it sounds like it would be pretty close. Hell, mine baselined, and I mean absolutely bone stock, dyno'd at 323/580 at the wheels. I don't to much about the Smarty or MP-8 tuners but hell all you need is a tuner that kicks an extra hundred out and shit your more than half way there.

  • Is this truck an automatic or standard? And if its an automatic how does the transmission hold up

  • Its a standard with a South Bend dual disc clutch.

  • At the first of the vid one of the parts mods is a SBC Dual Disc which is a clutch. Basically anything over stock and the 68 is in need of some help.

  • He is from Garrard County. He was running level 9 on the Smarty. And for some reason it was throwing a code during the run and one of them was something to do with the brakes, which made the lights come on for some reason?

  • Actually yaNNNNNOOOOOOOOO....he is holding the brakes to spool the turbo....so in other words....he's cheating. This isn't 482 HP, why is it that pretty much noone on youtube knows how to run a dyno??? Post some uncorrected numbers and don't brake spool, then we'll talk.

  • I think you have confused me with someone who gives a crap.... Cheating? It made the power, so how is that cheating. Doesent matter. He made over 500hp on Dunbars dyno without using the brakes to spool it at scheid. And also, who said those were corrected numbers? Go find something else to gripe about.

  • Well you must "give a crap" cause you took the time to upload the vid and comment me back and try and explain to people that he had a "CODE" yeah in case you all didn't know a "CODE" will press the brakes. Big safety hazard so be careful all of us dodge drivers. Basically don't post stupid shit or say stupid shit and you won't get called a stupid shit....Just sayin.

  • For the people who want to know about the truck and stuff, I dont mind posting the vid and talking about it. You are just on here stirring up trouble, so I dont really care if you like the vid or not. Where did i say a code will press the brakes? Might want to read again. He held the brakes, and was on the throttle hard. As soon as he came off the brakes it was throwing a code making the brake LIGHTS(not to be confused with the actual brakes) come on.

    Did i make that clear enough?

  • Yeah I noticed today that the light comes back on while during the run. And you're yeah you're right, I am just stirring shit. You deal with enough douchebags "and no I'm not refering to you in any way" on here and you start being an ass. Like I said though great looking truck, the 6.7 is a monster and most just don't know it yet. Sorry for being an ass lol, have to say pretty impressive you never talked shit back. Cool vid, anything auto performance is pretty sweet (except the rice burners).

  • The 6.7 will be awesome, especially if they can get the programming for 4500+ rpm. That is the only thing holding any of the common rails back right now. I try not to get in cussing matches since I dont talk like that either. But I am all for a good argument.

  • And I know either those numbers are corrected or...they're just bullshit. Looks like it runs good though, I have an 08 Mega that has pretty much the same mods except a different tuner, I didn't like the Smarty. It just sucks that people can't just post actual numbers...everyone has to correct them or lie and say they have more. It's like who cares??? Hell even 350 at the wheels is runnin pretty good. It is a nice truck though, dig the wheels and the color.

  • He may have gained some HP by spiking the dyno by riding the brakes and loading it up like he did, but it is still a darn strong truck. He has a 64/71/14 on it now and dyno'd just a touch over 500 hp at scheid without loading it up, so I trust those numbers since it was Dunbar that ran it that time. And yes 350hp is stronger than most people think. My truck would run right with his with the mods in this vid and I have maybe 350hp, but mine is probably 700lbs lighter than his.

  • Why is he hitting the brakes during the dyno runs? Unless the brake lights have a short.
