Uma pena nao ter feito isso na final. Teria ganhado medalha na certa. Nao sei pra que foi inventar de colocar aquele duplo esticado, lastimavel. Pouco tempo depois, logo depois dos jogos olimpicos ela derrota Catalina Ponor com uma coreografia bem mais simples. Vai demorar muito pra aparecer o que a Daiane faz no solo. Enquanto a maioria chegava na conta Daiane sempre chegou sobrando e muito....

Such an incredible talent. Ponor earned the gold but I really wish Dos Santos had held it together at the event finals in Athens--as great as Ponor was, Dos Santos was a genius on the floor. At her best she's untouchable.

Unfortunately she was nervous and wasn't as good as we saw in Anaheim 2003 and in Birmingham 2004.

Well, she is the kind of athlet that needs to win a gold medal to prove to people that she is a winner. She is fantastic and that's it!

Amazing! Absolutely Amazing! I thought I heard it all but the comment by omegalavender takes the cake. "If she's Brazilian, she's not black, she's latin sweetie." It's either ignorance or pure hatred that people DO NOT accept the truth. Language has nothing to do with pigmentation & heritage. She is Black PERIOD. If this young lady was walking down the street in Europe of extreme white areas here in the U.S., you what would you identifiy her as if someone asked you, what was her race? DAMN!

Holycani, Daiane dos Santos in all world cups that happened in 2004, won of Catalina Ponor, the score, sometimes, was almost the same... there was a tense chellenge between them... but Daiane dos Santos always beat her... in the olympic games wasn't the same.

Between 2001-2004 she had 3 different floor routines, but yeah I think for 2005-2008 she either used the 2004 music or other music she had previously done.

And most of her music kinda sound the same so they blur together.

ANYWAY, too bad she didn't perform like this in the final, she definitely would have won a medal, maybe a silver.

Actually from 2006-2008 she used"Isto Aqui O que É ?"as her floor music instead of the well-known "Brasileirinho".

I'm brazilian and when I (and 99,9% of Brazil population) heard "Brasileirinho" again in her floor routine i became very emotional, because after her, gymnastics here became much more recognized. Before it was like almost only soccer, and she proved that Brazilians can be good in any sport not only soccer. And she proved even more being black and poor and starting gymnastics at 11
