  • This is a great topic Kelly not so much what people believe in but why. To me it has to make sense from the way nature is designed. We know that there is good and bad. That will never change in my opinion and from what I can see so far in this life the weak die soon. We have to look at our surroundings for the answers To what is. Miss you at VH. c]:-)

  • Modern-Orthodox Jew (not Ultra-Orthodox). What is written in the torah is so logical and beautiful to me. Example: When someone dies, close family members mourn for 7 days doing nothing but thinking about the person who just passed while everyone in the community bring food and shares memories of the person with the mourner almost to guide the person to the next world. "Love your neighbor as you would want to be loved" -central theme of the entire torah. i respect all views if they r peaceful.

  • i am an atheist for now, but i am kinda veering towards jut believing in spiritual stuff and not any specific religion.i wanna be this way because i dont wanna be associated in anyway wiht the gay-haters of christianity or an yother extreme of any religion.

  • Started reading past comments on this one and got nauseous....So sorry if a comment like mine has already been posted.....uuuummm

I want to start a new religion that has the stuff like love and treat people as you would like to be loved and treated...but also a rule that you can't know the specifics....you can know a GOD that wouldn't condemn you for not knowing the particulars. My nickname is bootie so the new religion's name would be Bootie-ism. Wanna join my church?

  • I do not believe in god, Humans are a warrior race. we are greedy and we are good on fighting. it is our instinct to do that.

Human nature, but i belive it is slowly fadeing away with the years that pass. We hunger for power.

And the only way to find out who you are if to go out in the world and find your place.

My grand ma use to say that: I believe that food is good when you are hungry.

Well that's what i think. my opinion :)

  • Just shut the fuck up you gaybashing cunt!

I hope you get raped and killed in chruch

  • Not only do I believe in God, I KNOW God for who He is, not as the world sees Him. He created us so He could share His love with us. If you ask me, that's an awesome reason for creating humanity.

I fail to understand why people don't understand the concept of 3 simple words: God loves you. How hard is that to comprehend?

  • Religion and the truth have nothing in common.

  • Youtube won't let me spell christianity without an uppercase "C".

    I about doubt and uncertainty.

  • This is easy for me. I believe in GOD. I don't however believe in Religions are an effective means of representing GOD. Because they are all manmade. GOD did not make them nor do I believe he had any influence in their making.

  • I'm with you on that one.

  • science is what i belive cuz u can disprofe religion and science.but the main resion y i like science more is that they say that there wroung and keep looking for the right think and religion is so like i am right ur wrong and they just scream it in your face.one more think religion causes war in a way and make ppl whit other reigions to not like each other.

  • Science is what I believe in because you can (disprove?) religion and science. The main reason why I like science more is that they say that they're wrong and keep looking for the right answer, where as in religion they scream in your face things like "I am right, you're wrong". One more thing, religion causes war in a way and people with different religions tend to not like each other.

(Was that so hard? a few "yo" before the "u" 's and holding the shift button down occasionally?)

  • LOL

  • :-D

  • I'm Baptist, and I'm also gay, BUT the thing is that it makes me happy, to read the Bible, to talk about God, to do things like that, EVEN though I'm gay. I don't think that being gay is a sin,I also have 20 verses in the Bible that backs me up on that, when only there is only 3 that say it is a sin. and Baptist, because it's the only one that makes a lot of sense to me.

  • I'm a militant agnostic: I don't know and neither do you. Kidding. But I am an agnostic. Nice music underneath. I notice that sort of thing.

  • I don't have a defined religion. and the reason for that is i feel that there is truth to all religions

  • Lastly, I want to note that I am sometimes hesitant to talk about faith, not out of shame or fear, but because I know that some well-meaning folks have hurt others "in Jesus' name" and left a foul taste in people's mouths for Christians in genral.

I ask that anyone that reads what I've written would get to know me, and give me a chance. You might find that some Christians favor love and compassion over beating people over outward sins when we're not perfect either. Plus, I swear I'm nice! :-)

  • (cont....) a person should ALWAYS continue learning, and never assume that their beliefs are complete and/or perfect.

Finally, I believe Jesus followers aught to let their light shine through love and service to others. I abhor beating someone to death with scripture, and I pray regularly that people like the Westboro "Baptist Church" would turn from evil and find the real Jesus.

Faith is a journey. Sometimes a tough one. We stumble, backtrack, and fail. But the key is to learn and grow.

  • A serious video? Hang on. (Runs and checks) Yup, still on Kelley's channel. Hmmm...

Seriously though, 500 characters is nowhere near enough to explain this in detail (And if you read my comments at wvff, you know why!)

To keep it as summed up as possible, my personal statement of faith is very similar to that of most mainstream evangelical denominations (S. Baptist, E-Free, etc..) with just a few subtle variations.

I also have a strong belief that (continued...)

  • I was raised in the Lutheran church with conservative parents. I have not gone to church in a long time and would consider myself agnostic. I held on to long in my life, to my childhood faith and felt miserable because of it. The farther I got away from religion, the happier I felt. I look back and see it as a sort of mind control. I was a kid and did what my parents told me or I got my butt whooped. I did not like going to church when I was a kid.

  • easy question. i have my own. never fights with another. might disagree but no fighting. sees all as equal including people. i don't exspress mine as much as others. you know touchy topic. the goodness of people spreads more powerful than any other. without light this world would be lost. peace. gregg

  • I think you could "label" me as a Catholic, but im not defined or restricted becauseof that label. Which prolly tells you that i dotn agree with all of it and leave myself completely open to other belief systems. i dont think there is any one "right" way. I stopped tryin to make senseof it! :D

  • I debated on making a video response but, chose not to. I was raised catholic and it's taken me a long time to recover. I have a hard time letting go of all of the propaganda that was instilled into me as a child. I am not an atheist however. I believe in the "word". The word meaning that people should love each other and treat each other as they would like to be treated. Other then that. I see organized religion as a way to control the masses.

    Catholicism makes me sick.

    Cheers!

  • Interesting questions, but a good topic.

I'll have to ponder this myself :)

  • I watched this on the 'other' site.

unfortunately , 'thumping' seems to be what organized religion comes to again and again - I wonder if it's the natural progression of doctrine because humans like to be surrounded -for the most part- by people who agree with them- what better way than to thump them over the head with it until they give in?

I'm a skeptic - can you tell? LOL

  • It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. - Carl Sagan

  • You pot stir-er you. Is stir-er a word??

    2reds

  • I live in downtown San Francisco like you do and it's quite a challenge to see people on the streets everyday who seem to reflect much spirituality, although I realize that my statement is judgmental. My own spirituality, rather than religion, is mindfulness, or paying attention to what I'm thinking and feeling, and not being attached to how things should be. It's a form of buddhism actually and keeps me grounded in the present moment. Good question.

  • well, since you are posting this here, I may as well post my response here lol, there are probably a few people who haven't been bored by it yet ;)

Don't worry, I don't expect you to watch it again :)

  • I don't really believe in God since there is no evidence that he existed and the bible was written by man. I do believe that my loved ones that have passed on are looking out for me. So I do have faith that I will go to a peaceful place one day.

  • If you had an evidence of god it were no longer a question of faith, but certainty ;)

  • I believe in God because I feel like he's always been watching over me, and I know he does. i felt like not acknowledging that would be....disrespectful I guess. That sounds kind of weird, even to me. But you asked and I had to answer :)

  • is the moon made out of cheese?

  • I believe because (1) it is comforting to me to think that all this (life) actually MEANS something, and is not just happenstance, and (2) I have seen and lived through enough "miracles" to know that there is something else beyond this world, some entity of some kind, that is working for good and not for ill. Hard to put it into words, really. Thanks for asking, though. It says a lot about you.

  • I'm atheist, I would say its mostly because I see many different contradiction that just don't quite make sense for me. I guess, the scientific theories just appear to be more believable.

  • flatulence in all forms is pretty damn interesting.

  • That was deep. Thank you for sharing.

  • I believe we all have a peaceful and loving place that we go to when we die...not some mansion in the sky with violins and angels. That just doesn't make sense. The Bible, is relative....written by man. SO...Jesus was a real person...but probably alot more like me and you. The Davinci Code kinda helped me in making sense of religion. I know it is just a book, but it made sense. You should check out a lady named Lisa Williams...on Lifetime or on the net. She is amazing.

  • I BELIEVE IN ZOMBIE JESUS BECAUSE HE LOVES ME SO MUCH THAT HE WANTS TO EAT MY BRAINS ;D

    that's what love is right?

cause if not i have to have a big talk with rob >_>'''

  • Does brain taste like chicken?

  • I decided on following Christ. He claimed 2 B the Son of God. 2 me, He was either a liar, or a lunatic, or Lord. And when I researched it, I found 2 much evidence that He was who he said He was.

But 2 me, religion is not the "answer," because, 4 example, the most religious people of their day were the 1s who actually wanted 2 put Jesus on the cross.

Religion is man reaching up 2ward God (trying 2 be good enough, when we can't be). True Christianity is God reaching down 2 man. IMHO

  • I R Agnostic faced :)

  • I believe I'll have another beer. And pass the chips.

  • *burp*

  • i was raised catholic but by the age of 14 i decided that it was nothing but some bs mumbo jumbo so therefore i believe in nothing but MYSELF!! i am my own god. hahah for real.

  • There is ONE god.

    YOU are God.

    No charge.

  • (see last comment)..., they try to interpret the words of the bible, wich is more holy to them then the founder of christianity, but they dont turn their brain on, the result you can see at some of your videos ("GOD HATES FAGS!!!", "Gay Sinners" etc.). I believe that Jesus dont talked about another dimension when he talked about paradise and hell, he meant the earth and its future, because he recognized that we humans are able do make the earth to our hell or to our heaven.

  • I believe in Jesus, but not in the christianity like it is today. Pope could make some changes, but he wont, so I dont like him (or any pope before), too. I think it is time for a female pope :) maybe then there will be some changes to make this religion more comfortable for everyone. All the other religions are at their hole thing to primitive for me, they stucked in their development. Well, I believe in the words of Jesus, but many people are missunderstanding his words...(see next comment)

  • I was raised Episcopalian but left that path behind. I have nothing against it, but it wasn't satisfying. I found it too restrictive to properly appreciate what Hindus call "Brahman," the universal and transcendant Reality. I am now a sort of Hindu-Zen-Pagan mess who is still trying to escape the Episcopalian framework she sees the world through. :)

  • im a reform jewish lesbian. basically, im one of the most liberal religious jew out there :)

  • I consider myself to be Agnostic. My family follows Christianity with some Pentecostal beliefs. To be honest I just don't believe in most of their teachings. I'm happier without a God to please and serve.

  • I believe our feeling that there is a God could be instinctive. We put together thing we learn and believe to be true into a form of religion. Most all religions seem to follow basic thing like believing in a higher power and being kind to others. For me I think they all come from good just some get distorted.

  • In the beginning there was this...thing. it was sentient, but a blank slate, because it was all there was. it was all forces combined, all matter, all spirit. but it didn't have any experience. so it stopped being one thing and (one big bang later) spread itself out into a universe. ever since then, it's been recreating itself by evolving its matter and its spirit into the perfection it once was, but this time, with experience and we'll be a part of that perfection.

    men call that nirvana

  • I think we all have gods in which we believe - a source of morality, authority, purpose or whatever term on chooses to define that which is the center of their understanding of the universe. I see stories in the sacred texts of old as being like youtube vlogs in which I am able to connect with the thoughts of people across the gap time just as the internet allows me to bridge the gap of space.

  • i believe religion is a tool.

  • mikma was here

  • Tough subject, Kelley, especially to stuff into a comment box. I was raised Episcopalian, got involved with the church as I grew, accepted and believed as kids are supposed to do. I was an acolyte and became assistant church organist. Along about age 15, I started thinking that it was more "something to do" than something I believed. In college, away from parents, I drifted away, and I've never really gone back. I still have beliefs in something beyond me, but it doesn't involve a church.

  • I thought I was the only person who liked to talk about Real Engine!

  • One of my favorite topics. I believe what I believe because it makes sense to me unlike what I grew up believing which didn't. I think that our consciousness is creative and we're in sync with the Creator through it.

  • why havent you made videos on youtube?

  • Love the Goddess!!

How can anyone not believe in the Sacred Feminine? We are all born of mothers on our beautiful Mother Earth.

  • I came to my beliefs through life experience. I don't feel the need to commit others or to proclaim them.

  • I don't believe in anything. I call myself agnostic. If there's someting that guides our existence, I don't believe for a moment that Father McGillicuddy or Pat Robertson or Ted Haggard has the first clue what it is. I respect others religion until that religion tries to abridge civil rights in a secular society, tries to rule by force, or tries to further its agenda with heinous acts against humanity. No amount of charity would ever restore its credibility in my eyes.

  • I was amused to find you had 666 views when I first opened this. Given the topic.

I am a sorta lapsed Christian. I still believe in God and that Christ is my saviour but I do not support any religion if that makes any sense.

I just find churches so... oppressive.

  • robyngerris88,

then, u will like my video too.

I don't go to church any more.

why do to church when people JUDGE u for who we are.

I won't be bother with the church.

we don't have to go to church to worship God.

  • i think religion is all a bunch of crap... just because it is...if you open your eyes you will see that it is a total load...?...what are your thoughts?

  • Could you imagine what the world would be like if........we had to wait until our adult hood to choose our religion, and not have it forced upon us as infants??? What do you think we would choose???

  • There's something on your chin.

  • outwardly, i'm catholic by history, non-denom christian by associations, inwardly, i'm somewhat liberal/eastern/buddhistically inclined as a result of experiences/intuition/desire/psychological needs...

  • Good video/vlog...I figure we're all gonna end up in the same place so however you feel you are gonna get there is cool with me. I do detest ppl who push their religious views on others and trying to make you feel the way you believe is wrong. : )

  • I believe that I never comment on videos, but I have to tell you that I find you insanely attractive. Oh my jesus.

  • good to see your videos again, i dont believe in anything because i think its all silly it doesnt make any sense but i respect everyones decision to have a religon

  • I'm agnositic. I live within a very strict religious household, but I am also gay. So I don't know what to believe or not to believe anymore.

  • I believe in bugs

  • I'm not a scientist, but I concluded somewhere in high school that vanilla xtian religions were not compatible with science. I don't really believe in the paranormal, and xtianity falls into that category for me. Having said that, I would probably be much more receptive to spirituality - and more tolerant of other people's beliefs - if the vast majority of religious people weren't bordering on deranged when it comes to cramming their ideologies down other people's throats.

  • someone must find god in thier own way

    example:

I have a friend who's gay, and he still attends church.

I see god as very forgiving & i keep a very open mind with ALL beliefs (not just some)

  • Your videos are some of the best on Youtube... after Zips of course. Okay, to the point:: I don't believe in God,

I used to, but talked myself out of it.

I do believe in Jesus, and try to live a Christian way of life... as far as an honest gay person can.

I didn't actually decide to believe or not just as I didn't decide to be gay. That's just me.

I try not to insult people, I'll not lay a hand on them (unless they want me to), and I try to help people when I can.

  • I also believe that I find humor in the fact that when I watched this video that it was accompanied by an ad for singlemuslim(.)com

  • I believe... that I have... seen this before...

and that I like butter. :-)

  • I waited for a belief system to resonate with me, to feel true. I waited for a long time. Finally read the Seth material, and bingo. It's not a religion.

  • I believe that if there IS a god, then god put me here just to fuck with me as much as possible. I am here for god's sick sense of entertainment and nothing more IF god exists at all. I believe people should keep their beliefs out of my face. Theists, atheists, and whatever, who feel a need to convert or convince people are wallowing in self doubt and only try to gain validity. They can all suck a fat ball sack. Did I do good?

  • : )

  • Oh for Christ's sake, you can't possibly expect a serious answer from me on this one.

  • I agree with you completely. On the agnostic thing, not the spelling thing.

  • I am a Non-denominational Christian, I believe that in God, Jesus Christ (the savior of mankind), and the Holy Spirit as one union. I believe that confessing to belief in God and Jesus Christ (as your savior) is the way into heaven.

I chose this religion because I grew up with it and I also find it as my foundation in the crazy spiral of life. I also had switched to nondenominational because I had recently been a Baptist, and did not feel that I belonged in a Baptist community.

  • I am a Baptist Christian. I believe that in order to get into heaven that you would have to trust Jesus Christ as your savior.

I chose this religion because I went to a Baptist church as a kid and I feel that this is right for me.

  • hmm I may be posting a reply to this soon.

  • I am for the most part against organized religion. It should be a direct relationship between a person and god. Someone should be designated to interpret things how they want and tell you how and what to believe and do. I also find that the ultra religious folk tend to be the most hippocritical.

  • I consider myself agnostic. There may or may not be a god and I could care less to find out. Nobody is going to have absolute proof so why bother. I'll live my life the way I want to on my own moral beliefs. Maybe I'm going to hell, well it's going to be one hell of a party down there. I don't care what other people believe as long as it doesn't harm others and as long as you don't try to convert me. Many people have tried but I am unconvertable. Like me or hate me for my beliefs, I don't care.

  • They need to stop judging people for who they are.

the last time I checked, God is the judge.

    not them.

i don't care what they think too.

  • I've explored many religions during my childhood, teenage and college years. Did a bit of research, spent time with friends who belonged, attended services, etc. In the end... Im just an atheist who's starting to enjoy Buddhism.

Despite being an atheist, I still support those who believe and are involved with most any religion... with the exception of Scientology, silly cult.

And finally, yes... debating religion and wars related to religion drive me crazy.

  • I've always thought that most people just stayed with the religion they were brought up in!

  • I believe in a thing called love, just listen to the rhythm of my heart.

  • Be sure to read that last post in Falsetto!

  • I would have found that so romantic before you cut all your hair off. Now I just think it's gay!

  • Agnostic.

Because religions and religious texts were constructed by humans who can't stop arguing over who is right and who is wrong.

Besides, I won't know what happens after death until I die and I'm in no hurry to die.

But I AM always eager to enjoy farts and burps.

  • Ps. I also belive that Knots Landing was better than Dallas and Dynasty. BITE ME, JOAN COLLINS!!

  • OhCurt,

Yet, Bobby Ewing REMAINS dead on Knots Landing.

    ROFL

  • I really think that Richard Dawkins has convincingly argued that there almost certainly is no God. I'm a former ordained minister from the AME Church, but I now totally reject all metaphysical statements. If I'm going to believe something, it's going to be because there's reasonable and sufficient evidence that it's true. I'm making this comment because I'm trying to comment on the YouTube videos I watch, but for me this isn't a subject I'm interested in talking about anymore.

  • Agnostic, former pentecostal, former southern baptist, former catholic. I do believe in reincarnation, though, but only because it seems everything recycles. I don't claim to be entirely consistent with my thinking on spiritual matters.

  • IMO I have seen evidence of God around me everyday, in the people I love ... My family, You & Rey and of course sweet Curt... because of God I am blessed to have many good people in my life.

And he follows me on twitter so I know he loves me :D

  • Even God stalks you?? Wow... :-P

  • hay nut cheese come back and say hello we miss you over her at vloggerheads :-) we Love You

  • atheist

  • I'm an atheist, with agnostic leanings.

I don't believe in a sentient being watching over our every move, but I do believe that the entire biomass of this planet forms a collective hyperorganism which could be seen as some sort of deity.

It's a deity, however, that is not conscious or sentient.

We should, nevertheless, treat it with the utmost respect.

I know; deity isn't quite the right word. It's the best I could think of.

  • ..... Your little nephew can give you some anwsers... His mind and spirit have not been tainted ...

  • I believe in Jesus, but I also believe there were many other "messengers." We're all in this together...We're all part of God, the universe or whatever you choose to call it. I also believe that most of the Bible was fabricated to manipulate society.

  • Jesus all the way :)

  • I'm atheist.

  • I am an Atheist.

I am currently seeking to form my own philosophy.

  • amen sista! SmileyD

  • I am reading an awesome book at the moment titled" Losing My Religion: How I lost My Faith Reporting on Religion in America and Found Unexpected Peace. A very cool book.

As for my personal position, someone once said to me. I'd rather live my life thinking that there was a God(ess) and fnding out there wasn't, than to live my life thinking that there was no God(ess) and finding out there is. This single statement allowed me to form a personal belief that is mine and only mine. No dogma here.

  • Being young I still go to church with my mother. But because I like to notice and look into things a bit more than most, I don't believe church type things. Sure God might exist, but I sure as hell don't think that religions (which say one thing only to go against it) are on the right track. I believe evolution, ( I mean why can't god plus evolution exist?) like gays, abortions and things that churches don't. So I really have to say God + evolution = win

    church = lose >.>

  • That's a well rounded answer. ;-)

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm, pi!

  • I love all kinds of pi(e) except mud and clam

  • When you die you do not live forever

    Again

  • I have faith, am a Christian - but have no religion. Religion is about judgment, exclusion, them vs us, etc...

  • i believe jesus is the son of god. if he wasnt, he would not have willingly died for our sins. alls he had to say was i am not god, or i am not king, and he would have been released. and he certainly wouldnt have been able to rise from the dead if he wasnt god. i believe jesus is the only way. and that if there was another way, he would have never made such a sacrifice.

  • i question things too much to believe in anything.. i have a few snippets that i have taken from different religions such as i believe in karma simply because it has been proven to me. i just cant see how the whole god thing is real.. i believe in evolution but im not sure if we came from that solely i dont believe in after life but i believe in spirits and i dont believe in souls but yet sometimes i think that there is something there that makes me who i am...its very complicated. lol.

  • Yeah, I am not a "fan" of bible-thumping or THUMPERS :) hmmm--I feel a response vlog coming up....

  • they say ppl who are religious or believe in something live longer. fuckit.

  • I consider myself spiritual, syncretic, theistic and a wavering agnostic, because it just makes sense to -me-. What I believe is simply my personal truth. I see good and truth in all belief systems, even the one's based on disbelief, but that is more on a 'creed'/teachings level, while I could never fully follow any one religion's full creed, for individual reasons. For me, 'god' is energy and, well.. Like I said before, - it just makes sense to me, and that's all there is to why I believe it =P

  • I attempted religion again when I got older. Or, I should say, I tried to find faith again, but nothing touched my soul searching.

I think now, I believe in a Universal Collective Connection, but I still use the word .think.

Thanks K. WIll you be answering your own ?? I'd love to hear what you have to say. Have a great week.

  • Hmmm.. Good video. Hard question though. I was raised in as very conservation strick Roman Catholic home. It made me feel like I was always dying. I don't know if that makes sense, but their faith/the school was so hard core, that I felt like I was going crazy. I was taught to hate jewish people, gay people, never date another race..very extreme stuff. I failed everything on purpose to get kicked out. It worked.

  • sorry about the typos, just woke up.

  • I am an atheist. I do however believe in the collective power of people and so can totally understand why people come together and take comfort from belonging to a religion. I suppose some would argue being a scientist is similar to religion in structure. The same type of hierarchy and I can accept that. I think the need to believe in a god however is a side affect from our complex frontal lobes! I have no need for such in my life

  • I remember this.... good 2nd time toooooooo.

  • I consider myself spiritual. I believe that there is a higher power whether it be nuturing like a woman or authoritatively masculine. I believe in angels and miracles and the beauty of the world that surrounds us. That doesn't mean I don't see the bad too. I'm just not a fan of organized religion and the factions that tend to rise. The things that get called out in the name of God. Its often better to have an idea then a belief because a belief is much harder to change--paraphrase Dogma

  • religion is absurd

  • I consider myself an agnostic now, but I was brought up in an ultra conservative Christian home. I don't believe what they do anymore because they basically teach hate and try to disguise it as love. Any god who creates people just to send them to hell is an asshole and not worthy of worship.

I could go on and on about this but I'll save you the drama.

  • i don't identify completely with any particular religion. i don't think that any one team is the answer. in fact, i don't even think there are answers. i think you should just be a good person and love, and that should be your religion

  • i was the bible thumper until one day it fell off the fridge & knocked some sense into me. gay=hate=hell. if this is all true, gods a mean dude. so i adopted the "golden rule". its all good.

treat everyone in a way that you'd want to be treated. be the best that you can be one day at a time. Religion should cause no harm.

if jesus is chilln with 12 guys for a few years, you know there was some pull my finger fart jokes & huge burp contests going on. i mean - come on - their still guys right!

  • bible-thumping sounds like it should be the name of a sex act.

  • I believe in a supreme being. People may call Him other names but I like to call Him God.

Out of all religions, I chose Christianity. It is the closest to what I believe in. Where I am comfortable with.

Yes, life is an ongoing search..

A wise mentor once told me: "The more you know, the more you don' t know."

At some point we do have to stop asking questions, and start thinking that the answers are really not there for us to look for but to realize.

  • i was raised in a non-denominational church but haven't gone for about three years i still believe in God, but i'm a little skeptical of modern religion

  • I am spiritual. Mostly because I think humanity has an obligation to get it's shit together and self evolve. We have scanned space and so far haven't found any other intelligent life. So maybe we have an obligation to make sure this doesn't go to hell here on earth.

I have people in my family who are baptist, roman catholic, buddhist, muslim, jehovah's witness, so growing up I just felt like belonging to a specific religion didn't really mean much.

  • Watching my dad make fun of religion most of his life and then decide to be "born again" when he found out he was dying sort of soured me on religion.

    Faith = obedience.

We make gods in our images.

However, I believe that there is something more to the universe than we see, but we don't even have the faintest iota about what that could be. We're monkeys who used to worship the sun, after all.

  • when are you going to make another piss vid miss nut cheese you over due for one

  • I am a Christian first, and a Catholic second. Dogman does not interest me, but the ministry of Christ does. I wended my way to where I am. Born into a Catholic family - old school, NEW ENGLAND Catholic - I didn't really have a choice. So naturally while an undergrad I rebelled. Full of years and feeling immortal and smug, I ran away. Years later I came back, not to my religion so much, but to my faith and belief.

  • I believe;

A: All religions have equal validity, though a few are down right wierd.

    And

B: The existance (or non-existance) of a God (or Gods) is unprovable.

  • I am a christian because deep in my heart I know that what I believe is right. There is just some part of me that says "there is someone out there".

With that said, there have been a lot of stuff that I have learned that sort of proves that god is real scientifically. It has to do with matter time and space and is pretty simple. Im not saying its right and everyone should believe it, but it does makes sense. but even without this knowledge I would still believe in god.

msg me if u wanna know

  • "I'm an atheist, and that's it. I believe there's nothing we can know except that we should be kind to each other and do what we can for each other. Time levels."

  • I should also add that when I did try to study religion I found myself becoming a mut of sorts. clinging to standards and morals from every which culture. Which still just took me back to just living everyday and being a good person.

    Nice video, 5/5.

  • I am a christian. Hard to fit why I believe in God in a short paragraph but I suppose the

essence of why is because I was orphaned at six and the church stepped up and became my family.

Another aspect for me is because of what I have seen and gone through in my personal experiences, or what I have seen friends and family go through. My family that I do have is christian but being older I have gone through that journey of it becoming my own belief, not what my parents said I should believe.

  • Great inquiry

I myself try to live by the philosophies present in the Christian religion (which are more or less the same as every other religion)

Sometimes I get shot in the foot or shoot myself in the foot but for the most part doing so makes me feel like a good person and allows me to get joy out of helping others.

As for heaven/hell, scew of the organized church, etc - I try not to pay any attention to that stuff, its like the Youtube fluff that pushes the good vlogs off the lists.

  • I went to Catholic schools and in my early teens was athiest. However the more I got into learning science and technology and looking at how much intelligent design must be at place for there to be no higher power I took a second look at religion.

It disgusts me when people use religion as a body shield for their hate and I love that religion gives something for people to believe in who truly need it.

  • I believe...therefore I am.

  • hallbe,

whoever believes in God have the key to heaven

  • Then it looks like God has locked me out of heaven.

  • love is never having to beat your meat

  • Oh, Lord!

    LOL

  • I started studying Buddhism 9 years ago. I wanted to learn about it so that I could debate/prove it wrong since I was so anti anything even resembling religion but I found that so much of it was what I already thought/felt and loved that it said to question everything especially the teachings that The Buddha gave, which I did and found them to be true for me. Oh and I am happy that I didn't meet any serious Buddhist practitioners at that point or I may have looked quite foolish ha ha ;)

  • Good for you. Sounds familiar,

  • No idea on Religion,

    I beleive in somthing

    just

Were not supposed to Understand it

    If we did understand it

    Where is the creative thinking

    and Art

    and music

    and everything...

  • I've been atheist for a really long time. Having been raised Catholic - school and church and home - I was about 10 when I realized that I believed non of it. Over the years those feelings have become more deeply entrenched and when I think about it at all, I become more deeply rooted in my non belief. Lately, the feeling that religion is being shoved down our throats at ever turn is also becoming stronger. Weird - now even running for the presidency has become a mandatory preaching event.

  • i believed it is between God and You.

    GAY

    G - God

    A - And

    Y - You!

It is between God and you!

  • ..What?

  • Fuukuie,

    I mean...

the relationship is between God and u, not a third person.

Some people need to leave it alone.

We don't infervere in their relationship with God.

  • I totally agree!

  • I hope you get a lot of video responses on this one. ^_^
