There are both scummy landlords and scummy tenants.
The guy in the video strikes me a really good landlord. I speak from experience, managing a multi-unit.
My biggest problem (historically) has been -- aside from delinquency in payment of rent -- the abandonment of bedding/furniture in the basement/behind garage. It's not as if I don't know where it came from; I've seen it in use!
I count myself lucky that nobody has tried running a drug lab and invited massive vandalism by 'searching' cops.
A landlord in Cincinnati refused to fix the sewer that continued to backup in the basement. Eventuall the whole house smelled of feces. The kids started getting sick. When the tenants complained to the city, the landlord told them they had to leave in 3 days or he would "set their shiit outside". This is actually a fairly common practice, (threats to evict without going to court) and is completely illegal. If you're looking for criminal activity--look to landlords, not tenants.

When I evicted my tenants they ripped off the vent and turned the furnace all the way up hoping to poison me.
