To give Sayce his due his vibrato is less metal now but this is just plain awful. He sounds like a shite version of Mr Healey and his voice as that faux pathetic White blues boy sound ala Bonamassa and all those useless so called limey players
Phillip you are definitely digging deep...shit, the stuff on the surface is as good as the diamonds from the heart. Can't believe I didn't have you work in my catalogue. Don't ever let anybody tell you that Facebook isn't providing the best way to catalogue and review great music liek what you and Jeff cooked here. Thank you.
I remember the first time I heard you play and sing this with Jeff in Ottawa... I kept looking at Bungie that day asking him if you were for real. You were brilliant then and I love watching your career blossom! All the Best to you Philip.. Your friend Terry
My husband and I will be going to see Phil Sayce live the next time he plays in Toronto - hopefully, soon! We're sad that Jeff Healey is no longer with us. RIP.
Jeff was freaking awesome but at this show Philp was only just out of high school. Take a listen to Philip now! Hes insane!!! ive become real good friends with him here in LA and Ive seen a ton of great guitar players...Sayce is SRV, Jimi, all of them rolled in one! Sayce is monterous!.....riddybaby!
Hey purplejaybird!! I knew Philip back in Toronto and this guy wasnt just AWESOME but super down to earth KOOL! If i won a lottery, i'd buy him a 59' paul!!RIP Jeff! Your talent will be missed!
I'll agree that phillip is an awesome player, tons of chops and all, and some rocking grooves too, also to the fact that he is a great guy and very down to earth, but he's still pretty far from capturing the magic that flowed through the air everytime Stevie took the stage, and the towering column of music that sprung from the strat when Jimi poured his soul out there, Phillip is a great hope for the future of real musicianship, but being the new torch bearer? I don't think it's THAT big yet...
Two Great guitarists groovin' together - Don't mind the begrudging wannabe's, you know what they say - how many guitarists does it take to change a lightbulb? 10 - 1 to do it and 9 to say 'I could do that better'!
obviously there wont be another srv or jimi or anyone like that but there will be guitarists who are also great and inspiring like jimi or srv and we shouldnt compare them...
any of you jokers texting ... if you were guitarists of any sort of advanced caliber would already know and accept that jeff healey was wonderful incredible , i could go on and on ... and philip sayce .. .. well .. unbelieveable .. jimi is saying .. slow down dude .... lol .. play along with him for 4 years like i have .. and still i am in awe .. non stop . love you jeff and philip .. blues forever people ... dont need to compare any one to any one else .the real deal is the real deal ....
You were gr8 with Jeff Healey, but you are meant to play with Melissa. The two of you just have some kind of connection. I don't know what it is?! Love you solo too when you get all "bluesie" with it. Your dope dude.
This is some sweet shit! I just recently recognized Philip by going through Jeff Healy vids. He is the next SRV! Jeff healy was in a league all his own.
Phil was a teenager when this was filmed.....around the time he first started playing with Healey. We used to go and see him rip it up all over Toronto for FREE in some tiny little clubs....yeah, those were some really great times! I am so glad to see that he's getting the recognition that he deserves! This is some really awesome and very early Sayce footage!!
Goddamn awesome gig !

Does anyone know what pedel he uses at 2:06. Is it just an octaver or what?
If yes, does anyone know the exact model?
Thanks

Anyone know which Octaver pedal he was using in this vid - INCREDIBLE tone when he launches into the solo.
