the puppies should be weaned at around 4 weeks, try a bit before then but you might not have much luck but hope to have them on dry food by about 8 weeks, you go from milk to wet puppy food to dry puppy food.
also you need to get the dog to the vet atlease twice a year for vaccinations and check ups and any other time when the may be ill.
if your talking about puppies, then the mother needs to go to the vet if she seems to be in pain or for general check ups of the fetus
