  • I breed ragdolls in the UK (carameldreams co uk ) and its lovely to see your raggies on here, mine are on here under carameldreamsx one of my girls plays fetch, theothers arent bothered, she plays it for hours! most of the kittens that I have bred have played fetch to :)

  • does your cat ever try to swat you when you try to take the ball?

  • @MrZics No, in fact he pushes the toy towards us. Actually, Abu has gone on to Florida where he is the foundation stud of a cattery there. :-)

  • Many cats like to play fetch when little, but usually one day they start to run after the tossed item, slow down, stop, look at it, look at you, and that is the end of the game. My ragdoll was a fetch addict when young. My wife and I tag teamed one day to see how long he would last. Answer? Over 4 hours straight. One day he did the above and stopped playing fetch.

  • @SudoNimh I can't help but wonder if he got burnt out after that 4 hour marathon. :-)

  • @crackonoon He took a very nice nap on my lap.

  • The "not cat poop" comment on the fetching video is classic.

  • I have a hard time finding things that my ragdoll, Lucy, likes to play with. She's not overly playful and I haven't been able to find anything that she likes to carry around or fetch with. I think I'll try a "pipe cleaner." Did you give this to him as a toy or did he find it himself? If you gave this to him as a toy then that was a great idea! Any other toy ideas? Adorable ragdoll, by the way.

  • @meadowfrance Hi Meadowfrance... it may be a genetic trait. Not all of my Ragdolls have been able to fetch. :-)

  • @meadowfrance I had a ragdoll that liked to fetch tinfoil balls and bring them back

  • @meadowfrance Try a cheap read LED pointer, drives most cats nuts. Run it all over the floor, up the walls, on the ceiling.

  • Seriously cute! I wish my raggies would do that.

  • bahaha! my cat does the same thing!

  • How do I teach my ragdoll to fetch she's a kitten

  • I feel bad for disliking my boyfriend's cat, but I just can't help it. The cat is bloody stupid. It chews on the most ridiculous stuff, SHEDS EVERY WHERE, hides where we can't find it, stares at me, creeps me out, & scratches up our walls & furniture! If I could trade this fat, dumb cat in for a ragdoll, you bet I would. Ragdolls are so smart & dog-like, & I am a dog lover! Plus, they are longhair & beautiful. Yours is lovely! For the record, I don't hate cats. I am just a dog person.

  • What a beautiful ragdoll!! My Angel does this too. shes an 18month old blue bicolor and she is to died for!!! :) x x

  • Nice! Some ragdolls do fetch. Mine is 7 months now and she already does fetch. she comes to me with toys to throw for her =). And when I run and hide she comes looking for me, then as soon im found she runs and hides herself! :P

  • Awww

    So cute!!

  • my young ragdlol plays fetch - my older one wont

  • Do ragdolls follow their owners around a lot and greet them at the door? Are there ANY rescue places specifically designed where u can get ragdolls?

  • @3333sweetie some do follow you yea but they are know as indoor cats you cant put them outside.

MMM when a ragdoll ( in the netherlands ) is found it always gets back to the owner.

Male ones learn tricks a bit better then females. Mine does fetch to sometimes and sits on comando and plays dead and rollsover.

there know and cuddle cats if you have more questions pm me ;)

  • I'm starting to think it's a dog....lol.

  • I have 2 cats, partly ragdoll and partly norwegian forest cat. They also have very floppy behaviour. So cute!

  • So cute

  • Abu ia beautiful. How large is he know? I have a cat that weighs around 30lbs. I think he must have Ragdoll in him. I don't know his lineage past his mother, she was very small. I adopted Warf from a litter that was born in my grooming shop.

  • that is one beautiful cat!

  • FINALLY! another cat that knows how to fetch like my cat :D except she doesn't go all over playing with it first, she just brings it right back lol :P

  • That is undoubtedly one of the most awesome cats I have ever seen!! :D

  • A pipe cleaner, thats great!

The only time I play fetch with my cat is when I find a dead mouse in the house that she'd caught and through it out my back door....she runs after it and brings it back inside...though, unfortunately, not back to me! :)

  • I have two ragdolls, they both play fetch! Pretty cool cats they are. They like to wake us up all night wanting to play ... we don't mind :)

  • Pretty Kitty:)

  • what a terrific game! :)

  • My Cat does the same thing. He loves playing fetch with some toys I buy from Petsmart called "Puff balls." They are colorful little balls that are about the size of the thing in this video, but the ball is covered with catnip. I highly recommend people buy puff balls for cats. All you do it throw it, and take it away from the cat. Throw it again and the cat get ready for the next through. Eventually the cat will bring it to you to throw it. Thus "Fetch" is Achieved.

  • Adorable! I have seen only one other cat who would fetch and that was a long time ago. She would fetch the cellophane off of a cigarette pack all crinkled up. I think she liked the sound of the crinkle.

    Adorable and funny!! :)

  • what a lovely cat! and love the music:) Is this a blue bicolor or a seal bicolor? Can't tell for some reason.

  • How did you teach him to bring it back?

  • It is a natural ability.

  • @crackonoon Never seen a rag play fetch before seen manxs though

  • Whoa, Abu's my cat's name.

  • He's absolutely gorgeous!!

What type of points does he have? are they seal points? That's like my dream cat haha

  • That's a really pretty kitty you've got there. Yah, Ragdolls are one of the nicest, most loving, and most playful bread of cats out there. You cat looks almost exactly like my cat Athena, who's also a ragdoll, and possibly the sweetest cat I've ever had. Just make sure to have regular vet visits, cause ragdolls are extremely vulnurable to heart failure. That's how Athena died. God I miss her.

  • I partly disagree with that. Yesterday I made a toy of our cat's hairs, he played with 'em a while but then it stopped to interest him. Well, the joy lasted for five minutes!

BTW: the cat I mentioned is particulary of the same colour than the one in this video.

  • Some carry hcm, a heart condition, but good breeders test and breed this out of their lines. Always ask a breeder f the cats are tested.

  • @crackonoon Our first ragdoll died at about 1 to 1.5 year old of F.I.P......Our second ragdoll from the same breeder is about 4 + years old and 30 pounds......

  • I have a big Ragdoll male also. Your cat is beautiful! They are the best breed ever! I also have a persian that looks similar, but ehr hair gets matted so much more easily than the ragdoll.

  • Hey Wendy and everyone else-check out Tiffanys' videos on my channel. Sometimes, she can pass for a Ragdoll (she is a blue point Birman). Hope my videos make ya smile :)

  • of course, this video makes me want a RagDude even MORE now-can't wait for my Christmas Kitten from CrackoNoon! Thanks so much Wendy-love all of your videos. Colorado Rags Rule! :)

  • Love the video. What a fun cat! The music goes well with the video too :)

  • Ragdoll cats are truely a special breed. I have 3 year old and her favorite toy is my soft furry dusting stick for my sewing machine. She hid it for a while and we couldn't find it but she knew where it was and would produce it when she felt like playing with it. My cats also fancy saltwater taffy wrappers as a toy to bat, pounce and carry. They ignore store bought toys. Your cat looks like mine, he is very beautiful, mine weighs about 20 pounds and people have said she is the size of a dog.

  • I also have a Ragdoll that loves to play fetch with bottle caps !

  • Wow, ok so I'll add what all the others are saying as well. Gee....I have a Ragdoll that plays this same game but her favorite is scrunched up twist tie or an elastic hair tie over and over and over......

  • HE'S AWESOME!!! My cousin in law has a cat that does the same thing with a wadded up piece of paper! Has it with him most of the time and is always ready to fetch! lol

  • this is amazingly strange but i have a ragdoll cat who fetches scrunched up crisp packets

  • I have a cat that plays fetch too....there is nothing normal about that cat of mine either...but i love him anyway...i should make a video of him...he lies flat on his back all day long, with his legs spread wide, that's how he lays down and he tries to nurse on my other male cat....and he's over a year old....funny. But your ragdoll is adorable

  • My ragdolls do this too!

  • sounds like some home alone music

  • I love ragdolls<3

  • oh my God how funny !! not cat-like behavior-- LOL too cute !! gorgeous furry cat !!!

  • he is gorgeous!

  • How do you train your ragdoll to do this? I have a ragdoll, and i was just wondering how you taught yours this?

  • very nice song

    what is it?

  • Oh! and TRY to fool him! like we do with our dogs? pretend to throw it and hope he'll look or chase? forget it, he doesnt take his eye's off his mouse for one second.

  • Mine always fetches but doesn't always bring his stuffed mouse back to me. usually drops it 2 -2 1/2 feet from me then flops down and stares at me.

  • My new ragdoll kitten does this too! He likes a crumpled piece of paper. So cute :)

  • we have a ragdoll that does this with the plastic tab off gallon milk jugs, another rag doll does this with plastic bottle caps, in fact she will sit by your elbow the minute anyone opens a water or soda plastic bottle!

  • thats interesting, my ragdoll does the same thing.

  • I love Ragdoll kitties! :D. I've only had one ragdoll before, her name was Athena, and she was the nicest and most loving cat I ever knew. Too bad she died at the age of 3 by heart failure. Eh, what can you do though?

Anyway, you have a very cute cat.

  • HCM is something that has affected the breed but just recently the gene has been isolated. We are now able to rid the condition from the breed. It's amazing. We've never had an hcm cat or kitten here, and the plan is to keep it that way! :-)

  • Our ragdoll plays fetch too. She has a small toy giraffe that she likes to carry around everywhere. Hahaha.

  • I enjoy watching him fetch! and what a cool name he has ABU! such a gorgeous seal bi color he is! :)

  • my ragdoll does the same thing AND we use pipe cleaners too (neons ones) lol we discovered it was a good toy on accident bc i dropped one on the floor one time and she picked it up and took off and started playing with it

  • You have amazing cat !

  • Thank you, Venk. We think so too. :-)

  • Very cute.

  • LOL It's not cat poop?!? hahaha How funny!

  • My Rag Accua played fetch too! Amazing!!!!

  • Many Ragdolls have doglike traits - like following you everywhere and chasing their tails and some like to jump in the tub with you. Almost half of the Ragdolls we have raised play fetch. :-)

  • omg my ragdoll cat (same type as urs) played fetch too! haha i love it!

  • Thank you, Zodija! I am so proud of Abu. He was born and bred at Crack O' Noon. His kittens will be coming by springtime ...right now he's only 9 months old. But when people see him in person, they just gasp. He really did grow up to be stunning. :-)W

  • Totally enjoyable video. Excellent job matching the music with the action. And the cat is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

  • It seems that about a third of the ones we raise have a natural ability to fetch. One day you realize that they have brought their favorite toy and quietly set it beside you.

  • Hes is a good looking boy and big to for 8 months. Mine never gets tired of playing fetch.

  • Abu is a nice name! :)
