i have been looking for a new design for a kiln and would love to do wood!! i hope this works. i got out my legos last night and worked on a design....john
@potteryworks the wood I put in will be very thin bundles and I hope they will burn away immediately.... the fire bars are placed immediately above the burners so any thing dropping down should miss the burner holes ???? we'll see !!!
When you say courser bricks, are you referring to regular cement bricks? What about the lighter bricks? Are those firebricks? I'm sorry for the questions, I think we just might call some of these bricks by a different name. Just trying to understand as I'd LOVE to make myself one, one of these days. Have missed seeing your videos Steve. Thanks for sharing this one with us all. I bet there are lots of people out there want to make one as well. Happy New Year BTW.
@muditsallabout sorry its my accent I said course ie row of bricks.... the bricks are high temperature insulation bricks HTI the same material that the bricks in electric kilns are made from. they are the most efficient insulators hard fire bricks use a lot of energy as the have to heat up. so you heat the kiln itself before the pots
