Warrel is not Nu metal... He was making metal when you were just... Whatever... Sisters of Mercy and Sanctuary both ruled in the 80s. Great crossroads here...
Some days I wish people would give credit where credit is due... Matt Wicklund of God Forbid wrote the instrumental music for this one, handed it over to Warrel and he laid down the vocals. It worked well and the song is killer!
@bogslug nuMetal? I just decided to check this out and its not amazing but you obviously know nothing about warrel dane kicking ass before that shit ruined everything.
@NunsHaveN0Fun ...sigh... always gotta get lectured by some kid 20 years younger than me. NuMetal albums were coming out at early as 1991, son. Enjoy your job cashiering at that gas station.
@bogslug Im not going sit here and argue with you and if you ARE as old as you claim to be you would know more about the good metal bands right? Sanctuary was formed in the mid 80s and played music far from nuMetal and was fronted by none other than Warrel Dane. Whether this is a good cover or not, Warrel Dane should not be lumped in with "nuMetal." That shit is worse than Poison.
The third Best cover Ever delivered!!!AWESOME!!!You are just hearing it,over and over, unable to press the "stop" button!!!
The other two Great covers, generally in Heavy Metal,i believe are,the Mighty's DEATH'S "Painkiller",from Judas Priest, and Blind Guardian's "Beyond the Reals of Death",from the Holy Metal Monster,Judas Priest again!
@AleksanderNile You have already read my comment, and you know i have heard it,and i adore it!
So,to asking me this,i guess, you were about to say something really Stupid about Death and Chuck Schuldiner's performance!!!Likely, you kept it for your self.
First of all,if you are a Metalhead, show some Respect to the Almighty Chuck Schuldiner.
Secondly,i conclude, you never Really heard and paid the proper attention to Death's Painkiller!!!
I've been a diehard SOM since waaaayyy back when. This cover truly does the song justice! This is what a cover should be: a new interpretation of established material.
I'll have to disagree when you say all the other versions suck. Seems like every version of this song I hear, I end up liking. This one is my favorite though, and I can't stop playing it.
lol watch the origional video by sisters of mercy and look at the guy's lips
Great song, best cover of this song ever. a lot of people criticize how he changed some of the elements in the song but it made the song good, the other versions suck.

Seriously, you nuMetal kids really need to stay the hell away from 80s goth music -- you don't understand it and your covers are terrible.

This sounds a bit derivative of Black Light Burns version, personally.

mmmm.....All due respect to W. Dane, I gotta say...."meh."
Although, this makes me think this song would be great covered by Rammstein.

To me he sounds like the lead singer of rammstein in parts of this song, does anyone else hear that?
