I had a 30-06 high power rifle that one new years eve at mid night i shot and when i pulled the trigger and it went boom the barrel did the banana split 4 ways not just a few inches but the hole barrel
The gun they were using was a modern shotgun. Maybe there was no banana-peeling because of the modern robustness of the barrel? Why did they not try a much older, weaker shotgun, perhaps a Civil War-era kind where the barrel is not as reinforced? Would that do it?
@xxiaosaurus did you not watch this until the end? thats exactly what they did. my suggestion is to slightly score the barrel so that it will peel back from the score lines.
@ElvenMishap My guess -- and this is only a mind experiment -- is that with a shotgun the buckshot could conceivably be guided down a curved barrel and still be an effective shot; but the kickback, now directed sideways, would probably rip the shooter's arm off. If it were a rifle, the bullet would get stuck in the barrel and it could possibly explode.

I just thought of something:

Yes, but that wouldn't work with a deer slug would it?

but can you render a shotgun useless by bending its barre out of shape as done by hagrid in harry potter one?
