oh i can relate! at least you have video proof that you managed to hover. i only have memories of mine hovering and then heading towards the greenhouse,i am not sure what happened next after that, i had my eyes shut
@peterthebarker I can't remember how many times I crashed when learning to hover lols. This was one of many that I cought on camera though. Things have thankfully moved on now but the crashes atleast tought me how to fix her up and set her up correctly.
Yes lols this was in the first couple of months of learning. I have since moved onto the Trex 450 se v2 which IMO is a much bettr heli and far cheaper in the long run. I also have a camera and video gear now attached. My flying has greatly improved since these early bids aswell lols.
Hi dustyearlobe this vid was made along time ago and since this I have bought a Trex 450 se v2 which is in a whole different league in build quality. The Walkera 60 is a good first heli but when you crash it ,the weak frame just breaks.Good luck with your flying.
I have a 60b and it flys well ,brought second hand ,ive crashed a few times only due to pilot error ,i found adding a 10 deg pitch on the fly bar paddles makes learning easyer as it stabalizes alot quicker
tpdinh77 I 100% agree with you it is a poorly built heli and I know longer use it. I have a trex se v2 which is a dream to fly. But one thing about the walkera I must say, is becauits so cheap it cought my eye and thus got me hooked on this fantastic hobby.
Walkera sucks. I been trying to fix one of my friend's and the thing is so twitchy I crashed it! I told him to test fly it but he didnt' want to so I crashed it for him.
Thanks yeogav this was nearly a year ago now and yes I did swear lols you just cant hear it. I moved on from the Walkera 60 soon after this as although the heli was cheap and parts were cheap, every time you landed slightly hard I needed to replace to many parts. The trex although more exspencive to start with it actually turns out to be much cheaper to run. Ive hit the deck from 100 feet up flat out and its only cost me £25 . Flies much better too. Walkera was got me started though.
lol you were doing so well aswell. I hate that sound of the squeel of the motor after the main gear or head giving way. You did well not to swear in front of the camera lol.
Hey there, nice hovering. i was wondering what electronics you have in it, including the battery. my battery always gets really warm, its a 1800mah 15c.
Cheers helimix I know I need to get a neck strap I will in time lols. Since this vid Ive had another huge crash in windy conditions from about 30 feet high. Only damage though was a bent flybar and lost a tail blade. Re-fixed and today being 19/5/08 Ive just hovered three batteries back to back and shes hovering like a dream will get it on film next lols.
May I recommend getting a neck strap? Having the Tx right there without having to worry with holding it. I started without one. That heli is dead. lol Now i Use one and that heli is treating me well.
Hi yes I have a sim and can do stall turns and 360`s and inverted and alsorts , but as you must know when it comes to the real thing its so much different. just in prossecess of refixing and then back out this weekend
Sick, have you a simulator, I use cheap FMS with a free download sim, the web address is on my main page. Also I cant use thumbs on the sticks,I pinch the sticks for more control, thumb and finger.
Lol this was a few years ago and I went straight in at the deep end !!!! Just cost more money in parts.
