@gttoharo I read a lot of the Chrysler and Dodge Magnum Forums. I forget now who it was that said it, but it was a Chrysler rep that stated that the Maggie is under consideration to be brought back, along with the Viper and a couple of other cars. Probably wouldn't happen until 2013 though.

Some news for you haters...Chrysler is seriously thinking about bringing back the Magnum!  The only reason that it was discontinued was due to the financial difficulties that the company was in at the time, and ONE of the big wheels decided to sack the Magnum. Well, that wheel is gone now, and unlike the Magnum, he won't be back! Long live the Magnum!

Fiero was built by Pontiac which, while also built by GM, is not a Chevy. 3. what does an Impala have to do with this conversation? Last, Unless you have spent a lot of money modifying your Charger (once again, has nothing to do with this conversation) it couldn't touch a car with equal or greater BHP and half the weight (like mine)!

That 'Lambo' that everyone seems to be writing about here is actually an old Lotus Esprit V8. It had a 3.5 V8 developing 350bhp (stock) 0-60 4.3sec, however, with a good tuning, the engine could produce 500bhp.

I think the magnum would have a few issues beating even an old Esprit - one of the most refined sports cars ever made. And as soon as they both encounter a corner... Job done!

The Dodge Magnum is a full size vehicle. The new one has a 120" wheelbase, whereas the 78-79 model had a 115" and was a mid-size which IMO is still too large to be a pony car, it would be more closely related to a full size muscle car. A true pony car is a smaller vehicle, i.e. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger. I'm not sure what prerequisites you go by for a vehicle to qualify as a pony car, but I don't think a full-size vehicle let alone a station wagon, counts. Your opinion could be different.

That doesn't even make sense, the Charger's definitely not a pony car, that was a full blown muscle car no matter how you look at it, as well as the new one. It's way too big to be a pony car, as far as I know there were only 3 really well known pony cars, the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger basically from what I've read is a pony car is a small car with a muscle cars engine, i.e. Challenger has Charger's Hemi Camaro has Corvette engine, etc. Which website is this?

Oh yeah I know...I owned a 2006 Charger R/T, and the Challenger is built right off of it and they're big fuckin' cars, I honestly think that nowadays pony car is more of a "look" than a definition, real long hood, two door, short trunk, real wide cat like stance. That's what I consider a pony car now, in days of old, it would be simply a small car with a large car's engine. See what I mean by pony car is it's looks, not performance. Well, I would still have it if it were up to me, but I work on cars, performance based pay meaning each job I do pays a certain number of hours, blah blah blah, well I just moved to Florida a year ago which, I knew work was seasonal down here, everyone moves here for the winter and then back up in the summer, so summer business slows down.

ouch mann, i started off with the sxt magnum at first to go to school and work. my plan was to trade it in for an srt8 magnum by 2010 but being how chrysler went gay and cut off magnum production, i just ended up buying a nother one in 07. so my srt8 is for playing with on occasion and the sxt is for daily use. they are both on my page check em out if you can. you should get (if possible) a challenger for your self. personally id rather get the R/T challenger than the srt8.

See I would go for the SRT-8 with a six speed manual. I just love the car, I loved my Charger and I plan on someday owning both. I would use the Charger as the more practical car, going to the store or if I had a family to haul around some day, and I would use the Challenger to screw around in.

Yeah I had that in my Charger, although it screwed me once in a drag race in Bradenton, FL, I was in second going into third and I only tapped it once but it skipped third and went right into fourth, so I had to go back into third and I lost like 2 seconds for it.

That Magnum is racing a Lotus Esprit. The Lotus has a 0-60 of under 5 seconds and a 13.3 sec quarter mile. The Magnum R/T has a 5.9 0-60 and a 14.5 quarter...Even the SRT-8 version wouldn't touch a Lotus. How ridiculous!
