CArving is the worst shit you can do to your map.

Don't use it, because it creates fuckin microbrushes what can slow down ur compile time and performace by even 50 times !

You shouldn't carve, it creates many useless brushes and brushes off grid, which will decrease your maps FPS and can cause many bugs.

Just make brushes by hand or use clip tool.
