Haha lost ALOT of respect for alot of celebs just now. Anyways, notice how these vegans or vegetarians or freaks (not sure what they're labeling themselves as nowadays) think that posting 'famous' vegetarians is suppose to somehow sway the common man? Only proves how this vegan b/s is nothing but a followed trend that is sooo in this season. Lets get serious.
@Vorple there are different kind of vegetarians he might be a lacto-ovo vegetarian who are those who eat fish and products that has dairy but does not eat meat like chicken, beef, and pork.
Speaking of vegetarian I found a pretty interesting book on Amazon Kindle that's worth checking out. It called "Why You Must Become A Vegetarian". Definitely worth checking out
That's not a very good reason. Vegetarians have to work to keep our bodies looking like that. You can still get fat and have a lot of problems if you don't watch what you eat and exercise regularly.
Hitler was not a vegetarian. He had digestive health problems and reduced his meat intake in an attempt to lessen his symptoms. At least that's what I've heard. Even if he was a vegetarian because he cared about animals (which I highly doubt), doesn't mean that all vegetarians are spitting images of Hitler. There have been terrible people who ate meat as well, but that doesn't mean all other omnivores are destined to commit the same crimes.
There is far too much killing by Lions and Tigers etc against vegetarian peace loving animals. I believe these animals that kill should be taken to a place of safety out of nature, and made to co exist with only other omnivors including people. Just like with Heroin nature has got it wrong again ! I dream of a planet without predators Stay Veggie Stay Happy!
You"re the fool and at least I can spell Hacina100 go to a meat eating site and leave pleasant people alone you are just an asswipe who upsets decent people go fuck yerself you faggot ass of an apology for a sick unevolved human being!:)
tee hee wow someones a little upset. and since when did i have to spell? its youtube, genius. HAHAHA your so fun grouchy. you have no brain to even reply with a decent answer. lol unevovled? silly veg, you can never compare to me.
This was amazing to find out all the celebrities who actually care. I am 14 and I have been a vegetarian for 8 years and i am glad to see so many other people love animals too!
you're right. Humans evolved into fat lazy slobs with high incidences of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and many many more terrible things we otherwise WOULDN'T have, because of meat... not grass. And btw I don't eat grass, and I don't know any vegetarians/vegans who do. Shows how little you know and how completely ignorant you are.
TheLem0n, - RE: "ive been a veggie for 2 years now, i am currently dumber than before"
Well, perhaps you're half right. Studies have consistently shown that vegetarians tend to be MORE intelligent than meat-eating counterparts. It is unknown whether the diet is the cause or the effect. If we take a look at the mechanism of stroke and heart attack, there is every reason to believe that the circulatory system of the meat-eater's brain becomes highly compromised, depriving the brain of nutrients
I've been veggie for 2 and half years now, it's the best thing I've ever done. You feel healthier in every way, I lost over 2 stone and girls think your top when you say your compassionate about Animals ;) I'ts win win! (And it prevents global warming)
Hitler was NOT a vegetarian. Unfortunately, this has become a popular myth. The misconception began because of propaganda created by Joseph Goebbels, along with the deceit that Hitler slept very little & didn't chase women. It was an attempt to make him appear to the German people like a superman. Hitler loved sausages & his favorite dish was stuffed squab (baby pigeon). A vegetarian diet was suggested by his doctor to combat his flatulence & excessive sweating, but Hitler couldn't follow it.
Thank you for that information kesisu I thought it to be very useful as I am realy pleased to know I don"t share my passion for Animal rights with such a person as Hitler.
why raise something and kill for you culinary pleasure. ancient people rarely ate meat . it was scarcely available.now we can see the over consumption of meat and animal products in our health stats.
Yes, I have studied the pros and cons with soy and have stopped eating it completly. Especially the high estrogen levels that can shut down men down where it counts; thus creating the need for viagra.
estrogen does have some use for all people's biochemistry, and I don't think small amounts of soy are bad, but using it for "protein" is just stupid. No one was concerned about protein until the meat industry promoted feedlot beef to turn surplus grain into money. You should not eat too much of any type of food, just get variety and you will get all essential amino acids, that's what protein breaks down into.
That was great! Any of you vegetarians get light headed like I do? I take supplements and a lot of extra Iron and still faint all the time. This never happened when I was eating meat for some reason.
Are you a girl or a guy? I suggest protein tablets from a health store (you can get a bottle of 50 tabs for $10) to supplement your protein intake; Also maybe something like glutamine could help. Give me some details & maybe I can help.
hey I think you have a valid point. I mean can you pull that off in a really healthy way? I would believe it. But what about eating leaves? Is that ok? I would think it is.
All animal products are not full of fat and cholesterol. Some may be but they all have varying amounts. Kangaroo meat for example is very lean and good for you. All meat products are not bad only some are.
I've been vegetarian for 30 years, and I'm healthy and good looking. My kids, my exes, etc., all vegetarian, it works great, and it's murder free, it's peaceful, which is the next evolutionary step for humanity. It's time. That's what's going on. !!!! With love to all Veg Heads !!! A big shout out!
hey,i was always wondering how you can know these people acctually are/were veggies?i mean,i would really love to be sure about it cause i luv many of these people you mentioned and it would make me feel great to know we have this thing i ncommon :) so,if you know...for example, how did you find out for tesla(my man hehe :D),h.g.wells or newton...?thnx :)
As a "vegan-ish" veggie for 19 years, I'm so glad that you posted a listing of all veggies, vs. the "vegan is the only way" vids I usually see on this site. Awesome man!
I think that the animals bred for eating have a much lower quality of life than ones living in the wild. If the world stopped eating meat there would be much fewer animals but they would have a better life and could live their lives out in relative contentment. There was a time when nobody ate meat - earlier on the time track. I am thinking about going veggie but am a chef so it's harder - in the regular kitchens. It's worth it I think even if only to hurt Monsanto et al.
OK, HERE IS A THOUGHT: if we, humans, didn't eat animals we wouldn't breed animals than millions of animals wouldn't have existed in the first place! Vegetarians think they are promoting life and saving animals but by being vegetarian they are actually weakening the animal husbandry and contributing to many animals not being born. What do you think of that?
I think you've made a fundamental and very common mistake. You can't protect something that does not exist. Vegetarians are saving lives of animals that exist and are trying to minimize pain and suffering of animals that exist.
It's not not being born that is morally wrong [because if you've never existed you can't have any interests], but being deprived of your most basic needs that is morally relevant.
so basically you didn't answer my question and you tried to escape from the it. YOU CAN PROTECT something that doesn't exist simply by not creating it! Example: not giving birth to a child that is going to live only a few days?
Think about it! What vegetarians are doing is simply decreasing the number of animals being bred, because there is lower demand for meat. So the question is would you rather have animals live and feel some pain, or would you protect them by not allow them to live at all?
No, you can't. Sorry, you can't escape logics. ;-)) You need something an object or subject to be able to talk about protection. You can't protect "nothing" (because that's what sometheing-that-could-exist-in-the-future is).
Would I rather an animal endure a life of fear and sadness, or not be born at all.. is this a serious question?? I don't understand the meaning you are trying to communicate.
So would you choose to bring a human baby into the world if you were in a consentration camp, with the knowledge that your child would face the same suffering as you?
Would it not be better if you never had a baby at all?
Now you may think that the answer is obvious but it isn't. Think about it. Nature has been bringing life in much worse places than concentration camps.Example: microorganisms in volcano mouths. If all people were to stop eating meat tomorrow many domestic animal species will be on the verge of extinction. Before answering: "Is is better being a vegetarian than not?" you should answers: "Is it better to never exist than to exist and suffer?"
animals have lives of their own just like humans do. Just because people don't eat us doesn't mean we won't exist. We know how to reproduce and so do animals. Animals do not need humans to reproduce. Being vegetarian allows animals to have a free life and a LONG life without pain and they will definitely breed on their own. They have a mind and feelings. Look at all the geniuses who were vegetarian-now they know whats the right thing to do-to not murder animals. You wouldn't want to be murdered
I'm a lactovegetarian, so basically the only difference between lacto-vegetarian and vegan is that I drink milk. And only ecologic milk. I won't stop drinking milk until I've stopped growing.
I'm a lactovegetarian, so basically the only difference between lacto-vegetarian and vegan is that I drink milk. And only ecologic milk. I won't stop drinking milk until I've stopped growing.
I guess it is good and all what you are doing but being Vegetarian is nothing special lol. I'm veggie but it's not somethig to be proud of... Pigeons are veggie, we aint no better than them lol. They don't brag :P Although many people are ignorant and eat meat, the ones who arent ignorant (veggies) are just that - not ignorant, not some big heroes. I find the one's who make us veggies into some kind of Martyrs are the one's who find it a huge sacrafice to give up meat, u obv cant cook. Peace xx
I din´t ear it just as a rumour, I´ve read it several times. If you have really looked for it ok, it might be.
But I just thought it was a curiosity, and the real thing I wanted to say is, who cares about who eats or not meat? I don´t eat meat for moral reasons but I just think that we should be more active against meat industry and not just not eating animals or thinking about who is vegetarian as if that will make you better person. Again its just a comment don´t take it too seriously.
>>>I just think that we should be more active against meat industry and not just not eating animals or thinking about who is vegetarian as if that will make you better person
Completely agree. There should be two things: a goog philosophy in it and rational acting (like boycotting products for example).
thas nice, so you can ignore the people you dont like and focus only in the ones that make you feel proud of being vegetarian... anyway it was just a comment.
and theres a diference between being famous and impopular.
1. Hitler was not a vegetarian. Chceck in history books. Type "Vegetarianism of Adolf Hitler" in Wikipedia or chceck in history books. I've studied history, so I know something about it. Not just rumours.
2. For most vegetarians it's an ethical case, not a practical one. So most vegetarians think, that vegetarians are not people, who doesn't eat meat, but people who are doesn't eat meat for a philisophical reason. Hitler was no such man. Period.
Check in "Why Hitler Was Not a Vegetarian" by Rynn Berry, clues in Ian Kershaw's "Hitler", or "What Sort of Vegetarian was Hitler?" by Donal O'Driscoll.
>>>my encyclopaedia is wrong? That's a bit odd though =S
I wonder which ecyclopedia writes about Hitler's vegetarianism? THAT'S a bit odd. ;-) BTW, there are mistakes and thought abbreviations even in encyclopedias.
lol your kinda dumb here Jakub, ur making it out it is hard to be vegetarian and not practical but we do it for the animals. Do you not know it is the natural human diet, it is the diet God desires of us, Non-Veg food is not offerable to God in scriptures etc, we live longer and healthier lives with it, its more economical, it reduces world bad karma a million fold etc? And Hitler loved Animals actually like he had affection for his wife and friends. Kindness and Cruelty isnt black and white.
The study of God. There are 1000s times more information way predating the bible, 1000s times more the mass of the Abrahamic stuff mate in the Vedic scriptures, details far far deeper, location and appearance and activities of God, relationships etc. All that is touched up in the bible is God's effulgence his white light and the awe and wonder and father figure bit of his Narayan like expansion not his eternal form.
Adolf Hitler was also addicted to chocolate. But we don't care about him, do we. We care about the famous people who are/were vegetarian. (not the infamous)

so basically you didn't answer my question and you tried to escape from the it. YOU CAN PROTECT something that doesn't exist simply by not creating it! Example: not giving birth to a child that is going to live only a few days?
Think about it! What vegetarians are doing is simply decreasing the number of animals being bred, because there is lower demand for meat. So the question is would you rather have animals live and feel some pain, or would you protect them by not allow them to live at all?
gandalf117 3 years ago
>>> YOU CAN PROTECT something that doesn't exist
No, you can't. Sorry, you can't escape logics. ;-)) You need something an object or subject to be able to talk about protection. You can't protect "nothing" (because that's what sometheing-that-could-exist-in-the-future is).

Would I rather an animal endure a life of fear and sadness, or not be born at all.. is this a serious question?? I don't understand the meaning you are trying to communicate.

Gandalf117:
So would you choose to bring a human baby into the world if you were in a consentration camp, with the knowledge that your child would face the same suffering as you?
Would it not be better if you never had a baby at all?
- Katie

You got it! That's the question!
Now you may think that the answer is obvious but it isn't. Think about it. Nature has been bringing life in much worse places than concentration camps.Example: microorganisms in volcano mouths. If all people were to stop eating meat tomorrow many domestic animal species will be on the verge of extinction. Before answering: "Is is better being a vegetarian than not?" you should answers: "Is it better to never exist than to exist and suffer?"
gandalf117 2 years ago
animals have lives of their own just like humans do.

So it's okay for you to use animal products, but the rest of us can't hunt or fish. Hypocrite.

JakubNo 4 years ago
thas nice, so you can ignore the people you dont like and focus only in the ones that make you feel proud of being vegetarian... anyway it was just a comment.
and theres a diference between being famous and impopular.

Period.

I wonder which ecyclopedia writes about Hitler's vegetarianism? THAT'S a bit odd. ;-) BTW, there are mistakes and thought abbreviations even in encyclopedias.
JakubNo 4 years ago
yes, your encyclopedia is wrong. it's well documented that Hitler loved his sausage.

lol your kinda dumb here Jakub, ur making it out it is hard to be vegetarian and not practical but we do it for the animals.
TakeTheRezaOutOfRasa 3 years ago
> making it out it is hard to be vegetarian
> and not practical
Did I ever wrote anything like that?
> Do you not know it is the natural human
> diet, it is the diet God desires of us,
Yes I know, I'm studying theology. ;-) According to Gen 1, 29 we all should be veggies in a perfect world.
> Kindness and Cruelty isnt black and white.
No. Kindness and cruelty ARE black and white, but there are not 100% kind or cruel people.

Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian too, ironic fact.

Adolf Hitler was also addicted to chocolate. But we don't care about him, do we. We care about the famous people who are/were vegetarian. (not the infamous)

H. D. Thoreau was a vegetarian too? Amazing! I have to read his books again. Perhaps I'll find something about vegism in them.
