  • This request goes out to the friends and family of Colonel Gaddafi, the autocratic ruler of Libya, from 1969 when he seized power in a military coup, until 2011 when rebelling Libyan volunteers overthrew him and shot him in the legs as he ran away then in the back of the head.

  • I love how you americans speak low about other countries, especially eastern ones, when your own was on the verge of bankrot only few months ago, and the same problem will come to you in a few months again, so instead of bitching about other peoples countries, think about your own for a while ;) you won't be here for long. • What Is the original song and artist I really need to know

  • the right one looks like butthead

  • those be some wicked harmonies

  • Fuckversion..

  • this is not "Dion" is it..?

  • @robbypjr No Dion. But the Belmonts. Dion had left by this time I think.

  • Is it just me but it sounds just like smokey robinson near the end when he goes kissin kissin. Check the end of Shop around by the miracles and hear smokey and compare-- or... don"t lol old fart ps great acapella by Belmonts

  • Wow! This is so much more impressive than the Bananarama version I'm familiar with.

  • I lost my virginity on this song !

  • @Ca0Qc0Mtl0Vtown

    Thumbs up for you ;P

  • @Ca0Qc0Mtl0Vtown its good to know

  • @Ca0Qc0Mtl0Vtown goodbye virginity haha :D

  • Different from the far more popular Steam version, but good in its own right. I was in high school for the other and didn't know this one existed.

  • Steam rocked!! Dion has the harmony better, for sure, but Steam's version was much better.

  • what? i thought Steam sang this!

  • notice no insturments....that's because they couldn't afford any...so that's how doo whop was invented.....no it's called bee bop.

  • @shanana000 Actually, this is doo-wop. Bebop is a type of jazz music which originated in the 40's with Charlie Parker, noted for long flowing improvised melody lines.

  • Thise version is freaking awsome!

  • OMG I head this on the radio about 10 years ago and was blown away. I could never find out who did this version. These guys blow all other versions out of the water. Who knew????

  • NEVER HEARD THIS VERSION! KINDA COOL.

  • bootleg version!!

  • Dude this is how music should be, with what we were given, voice, hands, feet, etc.

  • it was brilliant, a guy got sent off on the team i was supportin a4 fightin da other crowd started sing this and den der guy got sent off and da stadium burst out in NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE

  • the guy in the middle looks like michael cera. o_o

  • <3

    I wanna flying

  • HEY HEY HEY! GOOOOOOOOD BYEEEEE!

  • PERFECT, THEY ACTUALLY ARE NOT USING ANY INSTRUMENT JUST THERE VOICE. JUST PERFECT SINGERS!!! BEST VERSION , MY FAVORITE

  • when somebody gets sent off in a football match i shouted that but nobody else sang it , but i think everybody should cause its a awesome song!!(:

  • No sean cojudos. The Belmonts nunca cantaron este tema.

  • Farewell, Old Guy

  • Farewell, Old Guy! ;)

  • Wow never heard this before, this song rocks

  • @ringo244 where have u been

  • This version is wayyyyyyyyy better than that new version whatever her face is made... She completely ruined the song.... Thanks for putting this up :)

  • about 2:30 "smokey robinson" kicks in (in my head) haha

  • sounds (to me) amazingly like smokey robinson on lead at the end.(shop around) absolutely loved it. but the Belmonts stamp clearly on it and was real treat. I am old school teen of the sixties and this acapella version is superb Thanks for it Rover

  • XD no duh, btw, did u know the scammers in "Bender's Big Scroe" sang it when everyone was leaving earth?

  • this is actually a pretty awesome song, lol

  • Wow agreat song by the Belmonts acapella to boot

  • too think them and axix made a version to the same song and the booth songs are good-weird

  • the best song , promise !

  • is doo wop?

  • I'm going to chant this in the library next time someone gets thrown out for talking. And yes this is a university.

  • Too many breaks in this tune by these guys. it sounds like a first take before a final release. This definitely does not compare to steam which is more soulful & moving.

it needs background music & instrumentation. Do wop does not do this tune justice. Steam, steam rolls this one.

  • I, personally, enjoy this version WAY better than Steam's. It, to me, sounds more soulful.

  • this old gal agrees thatthe Steam version is more soulful. I like this lead singer's voice though, very smooth. Steam's will always be my favorite. just my meager opinion.

  • kodad, a good opinon indeed. And an accurate one I think.

  • last week a kid sitting in the back of the bus had to go and sit in the front of the bus because the back was too crouded. then every kid on the bus started chanting

NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE

  • @christinecinco3 that is a MLIA moment right there.

  • @christinecinco3 poor kid. =P

  • @christinecinco3 Your skull must be too "crouded" with bong resin to know how to spell CROUDED. Also... have fun on the bus, Dippy!

  • The Original Song is by Steam.. but this song is much better this way..

  • I love this version. No-one can beat the voice tone and clarity that the 60's singers had. Where has it gone?

  • Actually the only difference in the tone and clarity is in the recording. Much more is known about recording now than then so even though the actual vocals may be clearer now they have lost something. This is due to the fact that almost all recording is done digitally now. I also believe that much less time is dedicated to finding quality musicians singers and songwriters because music has become incorporated and cheapened. I'm with you. The old stuff is just better. -From a sound engineer...

  • Thanks. I didn't know that recordings were digital now. It definitly is true that now that recording is so easy, pepole with almost no talent have been able to be poular. i love the oldies. I'm a singer.

  • i think Michael Buble have great 60's voice ;)

  • @yaoiluvr007 you should check out The Nylons version of this song. if you can find their 1987 Happy Together album, that recorded versio is by far the best

  • @yaoiluvr007 It's all auto-tune now. Singers these days are lazy hacks. Also, Dion and The Belmonts are just incredible. Back then, you had to actually be able to sing to get a record deal. Sure, image was important, but talent was just as important. Nowadays, they manufacture the image and the talent. It's a damn shame.

  • @yaoiluvr007 Ask pop music...

  • @yaoiluvr007 it has one to heavens dats why its said OLD IS GOLD

  • Best 4 Mins 10 Of My Live

  • probably the same here.. I have a bit longer to go before saying a definite.

  • I must admit that I agree with you, entirely. This sums it up. Great song.

  • stupenda ^^

  • the belmonts rule!

  • now im craving for ciggerettes i need my belmonts

  • belmonts test on animals man, smoke canadian classics instead

  • Other than the fact that you really shouldn't smoke, That's funny!

  • Crikey. It IS misleading.

  • This is from the Belmonts' 1972 album Cigars, Acappella, Candy. It is a remake of Steam's #1 hit from 1969. Despite the misleading album cover visual, Dion does not appear on the track -- he split from the Belmonts in 1961.

  • great stuff, but this is clearly not from the 70s. This is the 60s.

  • Nope...I checked... [Belmonts @ Wikipedia] Cheek to Cheek album released in 1975 and Dion is not in that recording [sorry Rover] or the rest of that album due to solo obligations.

  • AWESOME! Great to haer the original!!!!!

  • Which would be Steam's version.

  • this is not the original...

  • steam and bananarama also sang this, steams is the most famous version though by far

  • Is there another version out there then this, steams or crazy frogs( :\ )? i mean this is far better than steams but i think i heared another version with women singing this track.

  • Whooaaa... thi is far older than the Steams' version! :D Thanks for englighteninig me, mate!! Truly epic ^^

  • I don't know how RoverTCB came to tag this as music from the 70s, as from the picture of theband, the sound, and, you know, the whole deal, it's clearly the 1950-60s. But it's great stuff anyhow... So cheers.

  • That's because they didn't.

"Gary DeCarlo, Paul Leka and Dale Frashuer (eventually Steam) wrote the song in the early 1960s, when the three men were members of a Bridgeport, Connecticut band called The Chateaus."

  • Hoopskidoodle:

Sounds like you are from Bridgeport. Me, too. I played with both Gary and Dale in bands (that actually never gigged). Met Leka once.

    Jim from 279 East Avenue

  • Nope. I just like this song. So I looked up who wrote it about a hundred years ago.

  • i love this version better

  • The LP collection may have been put together in the 70s, but I think this recording goes back to the late 50s; anybody else know for sure??

  • yay first comment!
