Thats not rough compared to how some of the morons handle fish in local fish shops. I saw one guy let some fish go by squeezing the bag so hard that it exploded in a neon tetra hiroshima into the aquarium. I could have shot him dead.

Two things come into play during fish baggage. Time efficiency, and quality. Most people choose time efficiency. The LFS near me packs his fish by spinning not the top, but the BOTTOM where the fish are because its just easier that way. I asked him why he wasn't worried that the fishes got dizzy or stressed. He said fishes don't get those. A major doushebag. I always ask my fish stores for a net and catch and bag my own fishes.

Some do. But for most fish store owners they no longer view the fishes as living things, instead just as pretty little ornaments that happen to breathe. Saddening, but increasing
