@EverywhereWest Cool! Over in New Jersey they have little a 36" narrow gauge line called the Pine Creek Railroad, and they also run steam engines. There's this one 2-6-0 steam engine #46, that should be up and running by 2011 or 2012.
Usually for the first 2-3 days of the Reunion #16 doesn't pull anything, although sometimes it pulls the freight train, which is cool to see. I think on Sunday and Monday it pulls passenger trains. I've only got to videotape it once pulling a train. I agree, it needs some cars behind it!
I heard from someone recently who works on the MCRR that they are working on replacing the boiler of #6, and it may not be operating for the next reunion ? If that's the case, I'd guess we'd be seeing a little more of #16, which I have to admit I wouldn't mind at all!
The whole boiler is not getting replaced that was done several years ago whats happening is the boiler is getting new staybolts, and new flues and it will not make this years show.
the Selfkantbahn engines have a similar design, but they are not build by Henschel but by Jung Locomotive Works in 1956. Cab and frame design, size of the side water tanks are different.
made in Germany

Yes, it's the last 36" narrow gauge line in Iowa.

The #16 is a backup engine if the #6 or #9 have problems the #16 pulls the train until the engine that is down gets fixed. It

Number 16 is a beautiful and little engine. Probably the most unique in the collection since she was made in Germany.
