I have one question. when u connect your factory speaker wires from the harness how is the speakers going to be connected to the radio if I cut it. I'm I splicing the front and rear speaker wires to connect to the mx1.
i own a 99 saab 95, it has the ms3/premium sound system, so the stock amplifier is under the passenger seat, what wires would i need to buy to connect the mx-1 to that amp, and then to connect it to my factory amp in my trunk, along with a subwoofer?
I'm just unsure which wires i would need to get, any specific kinds u recommend? would appreciate if you list all the needed ones for what i explained i hoped to do
Hello, I'm getting ready to do a Install on a 2008 Pontiac G8GT, The car stock setup has a blaupunkt system an its a 6 disc changer with 11 interior speakers. I want to keep my stock factory head unit, an i was wondering will I have to use 2 Hi&low converters and I wanted some info on installing a EQ with these converters. My setup I'm going for is 1 mono block, an a 4 channel, with the use of three 8" subs an new interior speakers. if you can help me understand more
If you are interested in only using a 4 channel and 1 mono amp then the MX-1 will be perfect. First, you will need to locate the wiring harness on the back of the radio with the speaker wire outputs. Hopefully Pontiac has a standard color code, or you might have to purchase a wiring harness simply as reference for getting the color codes of the wires. The speaker wires that you select will determine your stereo left and right imaging as well as front and rear fade.
So, I would suggest locating front/left pos and neg, front/right pos and neg, rear/left pos and neg and rear/right pos and neg for the 4 stereo line inputs. With the MX-1, you don't have to tap in for the sub input from the vehicles wire harness as it will auto sum for you, but you can if you want to have control of the sub from your factory headunit controls.
If you choose to install an EQ after you have the speaker wires connected to the MX-1, simply run RCA's from the outputs of all 5 channels to the inputs on the EQ of your choice. Then from the RCA outputs of the EQ to the inputs on your amps.
great video!

I smell a little bit of burnt plastic when I put this in a car. Is that normal? It works perfectly fine.
