  • I read about it today in a dutch motorsport magazine.

Good read and good man, too bad they made F1 safer only after he died...

  • remarkable display of humanity. .i dont thing ne of 2dys f1 drivers gona jeopradize dair race to save a life. .

  • Summary of 99.9% of comments:

"OMG Senna is a legend! I bet *insert personally disliked modern day driver* would just drive on if they saw *insert personal favourite modern day driver* crash horribly!"

  • wich GP was this? - Belgium

    was it already francorchamps?

  • @jan123naj321 Yes, indeed. It happened 1992, at the Blanchimont corner

  • "The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. No, the true measure of a man is this: how quickly can he respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give.

    ― Philip K. Dick

  • I think if one does that in today's F1 either he gets penalty/fine or even race suspension.

  • Hero!!!!!!!

  • this is size of a man..Respect... Best drvier on world...end,finito

  • true hero

  • Ayrton was a status symbol back home because of his success, but I think it was moments like these which made him a demi-God in Brazil. He clearly was a good person, but he had that slightly darker side when racing wheel to wheel with a title contender - as all truly great racing drivers must have to be as good as they are.

  • Ayrton Senna Beyond The Speed Of Sound 2010

  • Ayrton Senna, david purley.... Good man's!

  • Prefirió ayudar que gana el GP.... Que estirpe de campeon!!!!!

  • Some of the comments here are a bit ridiculous. Some people seem to think that Senna was the only person who's ever done anything like this. Obvious examples of other driver's are Brett Lunger (Niki Lauda's accident), David Purley (Roger Williamson's accident), Mike Hailwood (Clay Reggazoni's accident). There are many other cases of this sort of thing happening before and after this accident. I'm not in anyway saying what Senna did wasn't great, just that others have done this sort of act too.

  • A noble deed by a noble man

  • LEGENDARY !

  • Comment removed

  • Senna is a great soul , you are real , man !!!

  • why do the good ones always have to die first?

  • @l33tnobody1337 the good ones always die first because the crooked ones always try to take over. Because there are more crooked people than good people in this wicked world!

  • I love Senna! He was real racing driver! This is a fantastic moment!! RESPECT!

  • Videos of events like this show us the bonds between humans at the highest level. Nobody who has seen it can forget the images of drivers rushing to help their fellow competitors. Watch the Lauda crash, Villeneuve's crash at Zolder or Jacky Ickx rushing to the aid of Bellof in Eau Rouge at Spa. One can only read about Jones, Prost & Mansell striving to get Elio DeAngelis out of a burning Brabham: 3 World Champions risking it all for a fellow driver.

  • You will never see something like that again. IT is sad when the world looses someone that is larger than himself.

  • While he was a true gentleman, it was also extremely stupid. The marshalls are there to do the job

  • @hejjagedu back in those days there wasnt enough track safety, and not enough marshals (because it costed to much money) it was only after senna died that they realy started to improve safety for the drivers

  • @hejjagedu C'mon , would you let a person drown at the beach just because its the lifeguards job to save them? This was the bond that f1 drivers have that made him help, not knowing if the car would catch fire or not the marshals sure seem a long ways away.

  • if somebody would do this in the last few years it would get a penality

  • @Blade4613. Senna often did! LoL! Always on his case - stewards, FIA, FOCA (aptly named!). Especially JM Ballestre (mean, but hilarious). Had so many suspended warnings/fines.... LoL. Last 2 were @ Imola for jumping over the medical centre fence to be with Barriichello and visiting the scene of Ratzenberger's crash without permission. Did Senna give 1? No.......

  • @LUV5S3NN4 i'm saying that with modern rules they would get penalities for everything

  • what a champ yes , i wish he was not dead and drive is missing him so munch

  • What a true gent he was.

  • Junte as lágirmas de todas as pessoas no mundo inteiro que choraram sua perda e terá um rio imenso de saudades! Ayrton Senna eterno!

  • Ayrton was not the cold, hard machine often portrayed by the press at that time. He demonstrated this kind of gentle humanity often (not many other drivers did - or do!) - not only this crash of Comas's in '92, but Donnelly's at Jerez, Spain '90, Barrichello Imola '94 to name a few times. Heroic. Iconic. It's purest Senna! A truly great man.

  • @LUV5S3NN4 Yep, also nice to know is that after his fatal crash an Austrian flag was found in his car to commemorate Roland Ratzberger who crashed just the day before. Respect!

  • @ndevinck Yeah. He was that kind of guy... always! Remember that well. One weekend in life I'd happily edit out.

  • El mejor piloto de todos los tiempos!!

  • Senna sei il numero uno il migliore di tutti i tempi.....!!!!

  • WHAT A GOOD OF THE F1!!!!! LOVELY PERSON! Why the best people always dead?

  • RESPECT!!!!!!!! this is not fake

  • Interestingly enough, Comas stopped at the scene of Senna's accident in '94.

  • All that I strive to be.

  • the driver that senna save was a french Eric Cosmas.

  • that's suicide!

  • the best of the best

  • Shouldn't Senna have parked his car in the grass and against the barrier rather than on the racing line for obvious reasons?

  • Comment removed

  • @Pro13east senna died 2 years after this

  • @Pro13east no he didnt

  • @B3NMAN94 They did mate.

  • he stopped because his lap time was ruined. What else. Did he stop to help another driver? LOL

  • @swallowAyrtonSenna of course dumbass.. a ruined lap implies running on the middle of a race track right after a crash.. You're a sick person.

  • WHAT A DRIVE

  • i miss u senna.. he was a real hero

  • LOS LATINOS SOMOS LOS MEJORES!

SOMOS BUENOS EN TODO LO QUE HACEMOS Y SOMOS BUENAS PERSONAS.

  • Not only the best driver, but also shows unmatchable sportsmanship! But sorta questioning why he decided to park his car THERE... isn't that right in everyone's way? O__o

  • @tomazws I think in that circumstances, he never realized that...

  • @tomazws it forced the other drivers to slow down having his car there.

  • There won't be another guy like him... In fact, in the actual F1 an action like this is inconceivable...

  • a true hero...

  • A REAL HERO....and the fact that he stoped showed how great he was......

  • @TheEgg185 He saved Comas' life by keeping his head in the right position (upright) so that the blood could flow properly. Otherwise, it's most likely that Eric would have been in a more critical position.

  • @Malinth66 i doubt it :|

  • @TheEgg185 It had been Senna who saved Comas' life at Spa in 1992 after Comas had a terrible crash at the Blanchimont corner during Friday qualifying. Senna jumped from his own car, ran over to Comas, shut down his engine and held Comas' head in a stable position until the doctors could arrive. Excerpt from Wiki. Say all you want, but that session was going to be stopped anyway.

  • the onlyone that did it!!R.I.P

  • Senna is such a legend he didn't deserve to die

  • This was how Ayrton was. He warmly greeted every new driver welcome and rushed to their help, but if the didn't move over within a second when Ayrton wanted to overlap them, he knocked them around in the pits. This man was half angel and half devil.

  • Senna is a GOD !!!!

  • Forever the best!

  • GREAT PERSON!!!!

  • Senna fought tooth and nail for better safety, even minutes before his death. Not only did he help this guy, but every driver in Formula one thereafter.

  • my hero...

    I'm proud to be brazilian!

  • Can u imagine anyone doing this now can you imagine Vettel getting out of his car to help someone?

  • @Jamesanaut It is very dangerous to stop an F1 car on a racetrack... Safety has improved hugely since the days of this video and after a crash like that, the car would be surrounded by marshals in seconds. Any driver stopping to help would do much more harm than good and put everyone else's lives at risk.

  • @THEMAN080 Dont talk down to me, thats beside the point senna could do almost nothing to help, he couldn't pull him out of the car so he could just go and stand beside it it was thought that counts the idea of helping someone else

  • @Jamesanaut i agree 100%

  • QUE GRANDE ERA SENNA ¡¡¡¡¡ LO MEJOR ,DE LO MEJOR

  • he will be champ forever, best driver ever in formula 1......... R.I.P

  • THats why Senna's in heaven doing laps on God's tracks

  • this guy is awesome, just watched the doco about him. he is an amazing driver, his skills are ridiculous for the lack of electronics back in the day.

@finishembird, he got rorted and if the pole position was on the correct side there wouldnt have been an accident because Senna would have been infront.

  • senna is probably the greatest driver ever, schumacher is someone I truly despise

  • @kraskata2012 despise him for ultimately driving a car fast?

  • he was a angel in his life and now too

  • What a gent.

  • This is what made senna such a unique driver and a true world champion, modern drivers could learn alot from this man. God speed.

  • Senna for ever in my heart.

  • Running in front of a taxi to get to work on time is one thing, but running in front of a Formula 1 car during qualifying?! Even when it's slowed to avoid a crash, holy crap! What a guy.

  • Schumacher aprende eso ninguno de europa lo hace eso se llama corazon !!!

  • Legend with a big kind heart <3

  • i wasn't born when senna died, i havent seen a live race with him, only bits frome youtube. still hes my favourite driver!!

you can see that he allmost got drove down by another driver who continued!!!!

the one and only Ayrton Senna!!!

  • Heart and soul.

  • I used to watch him race on TV when I was young. I wish that I could have known at the time that I was watching the best racing ever.

  • OMG!... What a Great Man!!!

  • Jerez '90, he made the same. He was helping Martin Donnely after that fatal crash. This year Spa '92, the driver was Erik Comas.

  • This year's championship was already lost....

Anyway, I believe that any other driver would follow forward. Not Senna. He stopped to help Comas.

  • BRAZILIAN HEARTH! THE BIGGEST HERO OF BRAZIL!

  • este éra o Cara !!! the best guy 4ever

  • He risked his life to save another life, what a champ.

  • @finishembird He risked Prost's life to save his championship, what a champ.

  • @PiaERo He did that to prove a point, not to win the championship.

  • @finishembird Yeah, what a saintly guy Ayrton was, if you ever see his documentary you will see just how nice a guy he was and a true champ as you say.

  • @ChuckyDoll10 Yeah that documentary is the best ive ever saw

  • @key1x1 Whats the documentary called?

  • @SpiroGames "Ayrton Senna: Beyond the speed of sound"

  • SImply the best, like any human he had his ps and downs, but this made him that star he will ever be.

    RIP Ayrton

  • This movie shows us that Senna had a big heart for the sport , and an even bigger heart for his opponents.

  • A true sportsman and an example for us all! Ayrton you were are and always will be a hero!

  • did he die? wtf?

  • @syedjaafar imola '94 mate :(

  • Wahnsinn dieser Mensch. Ein Idol und Vorbild!! R.I.P. Ayrton

  • My hero!

  • everyonw else passed

  • and thats another point why schumacher will never be a legend....

  • @thepainbob666

    The way I see it:

Senna beat Prost in McLaren twice (although Prost won on points in 1989 and helped by Balestre). That is Alain Prost, a 4 time world champion, and he was already the most successful driver of all time with 28 wins (Jackie Stewart had the record of 27 wins in 1973) when Senna became his team mate in 1988

Senna beat Prost, the best driver in the world

Who did Schumacher have as teammates in Benetton and Ferrari? Verstappen, Herbert, Brundle, Irvine, Barrichello

  • senna=simply the best

  • he deserved a pole position for that

  • @machvelocy he deserved a life for that...

  • Senna was the best

  • Senna was always a bit odd. No problem with deliberately trying to take his rivals off, but always the first to attend to an injured driver. (And the caring stuff obviously wasn't done just for good PR.) A heart of gold stone.

  • senna you will never be forgotten the greatest f1 driver in the world

  • Take that Jackie Stewart....implying he does'nt think of the safety of other drivers...

  • Bless him

  • yeah i feel so happy about this..

  • sem palavras

  • A very good man, and a very great racer. Heart of gold, and good sportsmanship to help a fellow driver. We miss you, you will always be remembered as a legend, may your legacy live on in the F1 racing world.

  • a hero...

  • gone but never forgotten

  • And yet he won't hesitate to crash into you when you threaten his title (suzuka prost incident). This is what amazes me about Senna.

  • We miss U

  • good man!!

  • theres no need to talk anything ..did u guys have ever seen such action like that ? and he is the best ever plus :)

  • ta a prova ai porque airton senna era o airton senna )^^

  • His heart was in the right place indeed, but get your car completely off the track before abandoning it or you'll cause another accident!

  • very admirable- ayrton senna was one of the best- r.i.p

  • @11111xam I agree with you

  • I hope that he can race in Paradise now. ;(

  • @bastiontaker he probably is...and making a sure guess...he is still winning

  • he is the best

  • Race In Paradise

  • this makes SENNA the greatest

  • dave purley did the same trying to help roger willamson.its an instinct thing some help others look on..senna and purley well done

  • schuhmacher would never do something like that......even if he broke some of senna's records,he will never be in our memories like that kind of guy senna was.

    he's undieable!

  • I was a big fan of Senna. However, I think many people here does not see his paersonality and determination. I still believe he would not stop his car if he was in the actual race in winning situation. I would not deny that Senna has got big heart as you see him danating so much money to porr children in Brasil. But it is different issue.

  • What a legend! Such an inspirational person.

Best F1 driver ever. Nobody will ever take his place. RIP Ayrton!!!

  • These drivers gamble with their lives and they know it. They enjoy living on the edge, even if it's a short life.

Ayrton Senna was one of them, he lived, enjoyed and died for a passion, the passion of racing through danger, the passion of winning, the passion of living on the edge.

  • the best driver last foreverr. this legend never did R.I.P

  • great sportsman!!! RIP

  • This is what new generation needs! The world is gtfo with capitalism of states now. When Senna was around, Schumi was bastard. But now we are even close to adore Schumi. That shows world is changing :) If that keeps goin, one day people even adore Hamilton or anybody like him.

    Fuckin money... Hate it.

  • i'm so sorry for him, that in less than two years died ... rest in peace

  • Senna....Forever...My HERO!

    all people brazilian!

    Sentimos a falta dele!

  • why do nobody stopped in his crash ??? =(

  • Isto é diferença para grande piloto !! Sempre Ayrton Senna

  • Saudades

  • a Saint

  • Simply the best....no one in F1 will replace him ever......!!!!!!!

  • The good people die young

  • Schumacher may have won more races and championships but this video is a mark of a great driver. In the words of AC/DC "For those about to rock!! We salute you!!"

  • Senna is the greatest f1 driver ever and will always be

  • they're not allowed to stop as can cause more accidents and risk to own health

  • he maybe wasn't your best friend during a race but after a race he was, and here he shows that he was a great sports men, hard to overtake but fair! unless like our good friend lewis hamilton, he's a total idiot !

  • Ayrton Senna pra sempre o orgulho Brasileiro!!

    Ayrton Senna Brazilian pride forever!!

  • He saved the pilot´s life. I saw in an interview that it would get fire at the car.

    Love Senna

  • would shitmacher do this? of course not ,he would thinking of a way to cheat around it as allways.

  • when ralf had serius accidents, michael didn't stop to help him or anything, not even his bro.

  • @emberzombi17 yea i know shitmacher would nt help any 1 ,, he is a true peice of dog turd

  • I hope that Bruno will be like his uncle!

  • shit...

you NEVER see that in ANY pro sports...

    incredible.

  • If we all had a little bit of Senna in our hearts this World would be so much better.

  • You are so right.

Senna was and will always be one of the greatest!
