@Deimian676 What were you watching. He just got up at the 8 count, the ref then went to 10 and then grabbed him and spoke to him. By the time Carnage attacked again 25 secs had passed. Wasn't allowed to recover...? Gimme a break. Should he have gone home for a rest and then come back to finish the round?

fight was stopped by ref due to ko....waved his hands ending the fight.....the "attack" by corbett was done after the fact the ref had ended the fight due to ko and spong could not continue......watever happened after that point does not change who the winner was.

The question is would Spong agree to a real Muay Thai fight with elbows in the rematch? Elbows are Corbett's most dangerous weapon, Spong flat out refused to fight under full Thai rules & still got knocked out so it seems doubtful he would. Very cool that the vast majority of the comments here recognise who the real victor was that night.

That's totally on the ref......if you see when Spong gets knocked out by Saki the ref waves it off and doesn't let him go, hugging him to his corner. You have to take control in the middle.....the fighters are there to knock each other's heads off, not debate what the ref is trying to do.

Poor officiating. A referee MUST stand between the fighters when waving off a fight. He must make it clear to both fighters. In this case, the ref started to wak away and I can see where Nathan became confused.

FYI.....the referee is Paulo Trocha, the same guy who played the thai boxer in Van Damne's "Bloosport".

@MrFlagon I lost all respect for Michael Schiavello as commentator of the fight game after that, the referee lost control, he created the confusion - no way Corbett went in believing the fight was over. Spong accepted that - everyone accepted that except that idiot attention whore Michael Schiavello even Hammer could not set him strait with a fighters common sense.

The referee had already called it off by KO, he was not clear on this and did not do his job. Therefore Nathan won by KO, hitting after the bell whether it was intentional or not should have been sorted out by the board. It should not have changed the decision.

The ref should have walked spong back to his corner if it was off not back away if you watch closely in that moment nathan is looking to his trainer so all he see's is the ref walk away and spong put his hands up again. It was bad reffing, what if spong was severally concussed and fell over again? It is the refs job to ensure the safety of the fighters, he should have held spong and waved it off high and walked him back to his corner.

both great fighters , i dont think that he did it on purpose allthough i disagree with what the commentators say and i think they are foolish if they do notrealise that they are wrong , regardless if he did it on purpose or not fact is that it did happen the footage speaks for itself , rules are rules and the rule is that if you hit your opponent who is down or declared KO then your disqualified or an no contest , he is even lucky that the win did not go to spong !

The ref was waving his hands shoulder high..facing spong walking away from him with his back turned from Nathan. I dont blame Nathan thinking the fight is continued. Sill ref...Nathan could of had a win over Spong instead of a NC.
