I've taken 4 years of 3D & I'm great with pretty much everything aside from special effects, I've been looking in to krakatoa & Pflow but wrapping my mind around it after a couple semesters of maya's been moderately difficult.
If you are using Object XYZ, the Map will not stick to the moving particles - Krakatoa will evaluate it in object space of the PFlow. You are correctly stealing the UVs with the Mapping Object operator, but the Map has to be switched to use Explicit UVW coords and the channel acquired by the op to actually stick to the moving particles.
