i'm no viola player but she kind of sounds stale, not emotional enough for my taste... but i do like the contrast between those 2 string instruments though. nice video

In the repeat of the melody the viola plays the principal 'cello part from the original score which is at that register.  This also provides the contrast to the violin/soprano line which is an octave higher.

I like this arrangement but it would've been more interesting if the viola did the solo soprano part at concert pitch instead as its tone is closer to the human voice than the other string instruments.
