I remember this curfew. I remember the national guard patrolling the streets even before curfew. I remember being outside on the front lawn on 3rd street accross from Victor Burger school. I remember when the national guard would come down the street, and we would run like bats out of hell into the house afraid of them; but they were 'supposed' to be our protectors. But at the age of 6 - 9, even at that ripe young age, we were fearful of Milwaukee police authority and the national guard.
