1945 Japanese pilots were so bad that they couldnt even hit P-51 Mustang.

If i see right Japanese planes were upgraded zeros.

Compared to Zero P-51 was nearly every way better;

Speed: 703km/h, Guns: 6 50. caliber machine guns and Range: 2655km.

It's kinduva myth that late war IJAAF were all inexperienced and poorly trained pilots.Many early war aces and trainers from the CBI and Nomohan were reinstated as fighter pilots late in the war.Satoshi Anabuki,Isamu Sasaki,Yukiyoshi Wakamatsu(A rogue Ki84 pilot who specialized in hunting P51s of the 23rd and74 FS)and the great Hiromichi Shinohara are just a few of the many IFAAF pilots who scored late and often.

The Frank can be considered to be the best fighter available to the Japanese that was on par to the P-51D. Had reliability problems been ironed out and with skilled pilots it would have been superb. But as we know, that did not happen.

@dzdz80 Commendable in addition to the Army Type 4 Nakajima Ki-84 is also the Army Type 2 Fighter Ki-44 Shoki with the 40mm cannons, Kawasaki Ki-100, A7M2 Reppu 'Sam' and the IJN's Kawanishi N1K-J Shiden - 'George' - the George in particular was unique while not as fast as the Reppu Sam nor the Type 4 Fighter the George was very heavily armed - with 4x 20mm cannons and good manuevering...and the George was like a P47 - could withstand quite abit of damage for a late war Japanese fighter!

For further info on this debate, kindly read Aviation History magazine dated May 2006, main page on the Ki.84, page 22-28,continued on page 58.. And thats from an American point of view... Both aircraft were evenly matched...Post WW2 USAAF test of captured Frank filled with the same high octane fuel as supplied to American fighters was as fast as the P-51D, out-climbing and outmaneuvering a P-51H and P-47N.

That's simply not correct. The B-29 did conduct daylight bombinb over Japan. There were no restrictions on tactics as inthe European theatre where the British conducted only nght bombing and the US doing the daylight bombing.

thank you.nakajima ki-84 was captured and tested by americans after end of the war. with american high octan gasoline and the best quality plugs Homare engine worked good, and ki-84 reached speed 684km. but ki-84 did not have pressure cabine, turbo charger not like P51. at war time a perfect P51 was captiered by japanese and tested.they used that P51 as an agresser but kawasaki ki-61 hien tony could not match it totally, the ace ruitenant hinoki said.that P51 was out of work with genereter broke

i think german 30mm machingun is ideal for anti-bomber mission. also FW190A5?

had 4 20mm machingun and 2 12.7mm maching gun! always german fighters had the best. the game, fighter ace was so difficult i shot dowon about 14 in first on line play and got shoot down over 40 times. it is sweet memories of fright sumilaters. i have PS3 expected that they publish fright sim. but there a rumor of Ilutioun IL2 Shutorumobik 1946. but no game shop keeper know about it.

Ki-44 was an intercepter. very small wings with bomber's engine. it aimed higher speed then Ki-43. Ki-44's maximam speed is 604km but it is said that A6M2 zero was almost same speed. Ki-44 is heavy fighter and very tough. its power dive speed was 850km. meanwhile Ki-84's power dive speed was 800km. about 1000 Ki-44 were build. meanwhill J2M Raiden's production were just over 200s. Raiden also used bomber's engin and drive propela with extention rod. it bring vibration. it was must sirius problem

well i admire 360 for it has many game sftweres. about PS3 i do not have games which i want play. also it can play Blue-ray discs. but my 40inch riquid crystal TV is old and has only one HDMI concent. so i must buy HDMI hub. it is very pricy. but someday when good flight sim go to stoires i may be buy HDMI cable fo PS3 and HDMI hub. the situation is like PS2 and original X box. The problem whit the xbox is that they dont have games that like people in japan not like the PS2 it had a lot of RPG's and stuff, as far as i know those are the kind ofgames that people want in your country for xbox and PS2 the only flight sim was Heroes of the Pacific (i think) but is not really a "sim" its more arcady, actually in that game i saw for the first time the J2M7 and the Ki-84-1C and i just loved them XD one last thing if is not problem, what the hell mean "bansai"... if u can.

there are some good flight sims in PS2. such as Let's to be pilot 2 or airodancing series. airodancing is from dreamcast. for sega withdorowed from game console. they are jets. althou Let's to be pilot 2 has sesna plop planes.

Ki-61's water cooled engine was the copy of german DB601 of Bf 109. but the plane was totally defferent. allies code named Ki-64 as Tony for they thought it was a copy of Italian MC.202. the japanese water cooled engines were too dificult to mass produce and properly mentenance for us japanese.
