It's hard. It's really hard to lose an animal. I'm only 13 but, I know how it feels. It's horrible. My cat, sylvester, was put down about 3 years ago. My parents told me that when i was brought home after birth, he immediatly ran up to me. Stayed next to me after I had nightmares. When i found out he was going to be put down, I was crushed. I'll never forget watching him through his cage while getting carried to the vet...i watched my moms car drive off..until i couldnt see it. Miss him.

Last night our family just went through with having to put our dog down, he's had cancer for a little bit and was perfectly fine and suddenly starting sneezing last night continous blood. Last week was one of the hardest of my life, because we almost had to put my first dog ever, Lucy, down. She's an unregulated diabetic, and she's the one that got me into what I'm in now. Veterinary Nursing. I wouldn't have a direction in life without her. However, next time she goes into a diabetic crisis, we gotta let her go. Your video made me cry like a baby. I know exactly what you went thru. I lost my "Cuz" to bone cancer in his right front shoulder just six weeks ago. He was my shadow for thirteen years. At the end, I was cupping his face in my hands and looking into his eyes so I would be the last thing he saw as they gave him the shot. A part of my heart died with him as I saw the lite go out in his eyes. I do this with all of my "kids". I feel it is the last act of love I can give them. I know we will again meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

Both of them had been in the family longer than me, my cat passed when he was 13 (human yrs) and my dog when he was 16 (human yrs). I could never get over it, still now i cant get over it. Euthanized my dog 5 months ago and I stayed just like that and I was already bad but seeing when your dog is nothing but a shell and there's nothing left with the eyes open but staring nowhere I just fell the f*ck apart. Last night our family just went through with having to put our dog down, he's had cancer for a little bit and was perfectly fine and suddenly starting sneezing last night continous blood. I remember the last time I saw him he was covered in blood, but he was still wagging his tail with his family around him. I hugged him, kissed him and pet him until my parents were ready to leave. I didn't go to the vet with my parents I couldn't stand seeing him as he was, it hurt me. RIP Crockett,my brother

man i feel for you this makes me think of my dog that we had to put down, i was sick at the time and laying in the hospital and i couldnt be whit friend at his side during his last days and when he was put down... after seeing this vid i could almost picture what my father and my brother went trough :(

The saying, "Dogs are man's best friend" is an understatement. This is proof. Although I don't know about the whole heaven thing, this is still pretty tough to deal with. I have had 3 dogs put to sleep in my life, keep your head up, bro, he will on through your memories of the good times!

Last week was one of the hardest of my life, because we almost had to put my first dog ever, Lucy, down. She's an unregulated diabetic, and she's the one that got me into what I'm in now. Veterinary Nursing. I wouldn't have a direction in life without her. However, next time she goes into a diabetic crisis, we gotta let her go. Your video made me cry like a baby. But thank you SO MUCH for this. It's really amazing how such a small creature can leave such an impact on so many peoples lives.

@meggles650 Well luckily, you didn't have to. I had to put my best friend... my dog, down on 02/07/12. You never know what you have until it's gone and i wish that i was able to say that i ALMOST had to put her down. she was my first dog and my world. But for me i didn't have to say i cried like a child sence i am one my self. Im only eleven and im almost certain that this is and will be one of the hardest things i will ever have to deal with. Plus, with the apparent rise in cases of animal cruelty, I interpret iRyM1's comment to be an allusion to hitting his dog etc. I have only ever witnessed one person actually hit their dog, I was stunned, stopped dead and said "what the FUCK do you think you're doing". Didn't even get a reply, the guy looked sheepish and scurried off. People should need a license for pets.

I've had dogs all my life and just this past December I lose one of my friends to a violent death, I've had to put down 4 dogs in my life but nothing prepared me for what happened this past December getting one of your best friends violently ripped out of your life hurts on a much deeper level I hope I don't ever have to go through that again.
My old guy right now has cancer & liver disease but he is so strong you would never know it.

i can relate we had to take our dog to the pound she had lumps all over her and i couldnt take her in pain any longer my mom wanted her to stay with us because she couldnt let go but i told my mom it was her time she was hurting and feeling sick we had to let her go and feel no more pain and we put her asleep worst day of my life. :(

I know exactly what you went thru. I lost my "Cuz" to bone cancer in his right front shoulder just six weeks ago. He was my shadow for thirteen years. At the end, I was cupping his face in my hands and looking into his eyes so I would be the last thing he saw as they gave him the shot. A part of my heart died with him as I saw the lite go out in his eyes. I do this with all of my "kids". I feel it is the last act of love I can give them. I know we will again meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

@Machete964 yes true its been a burden on me as well because i went through it and it was heart breaking because you become so close and love them and take care of them and they love you unconditionally for doing so but they have a short life here on earth about 13-14 years is the longest they will live after that they are gone. I have learned to get pass that and accept death is a part of natural life for BOTH humans and animals once u accept it it makes it easier.

I have experienced both my cat and dog be put to sleep. I am young, and I was younger when it happened, but I know it will never get easier, no matter who you are, what age you are, anything. Both of them had been in the family longer than me, my cat passed when he was 13 (human yrs) and my dog when he was 16 (human yrs). I could never get over it, still now i cant get over it. I didnt want to live without them. This video reminds me so much of what I went through, and I admire you SO much.

Holy Christ. Euthanized my dog 5 months ago and I stayed just like that and I was already bad but seeing when your dog is nothing but a shell and there's nothing left with the eyes open but staring nowhere I just fell the f*ck apart. And this video, what a way to re-live it. It's just nice to clean out the soul every once in a while. It's so natural. Its easy to appreciate beautiful universal love.
