  • この曲とJesus don't want me for a sunbeamは名曲ですよね!

  • But, Kurt wrote the letter.

  • why is the girl singing about kissing another girl?

  • @deadendguitarist Why do you care? =o

  • @deadendguitarist Not to mention that it shouldn't fucking matter, but sometimes musicians sing from perspectives other than their own.

  • the ac-dc version is far better than this dumb junk.

  • @tblaxxable FUCK ACDC

  • STOP FUCKING ARGUING! Press the play button. (if you don't like what you hear then LEAVE. (and don't comment)

  • Aaron - You took a picture of me embracing Frances after the Vaselines show in Chicago, but I never received it. If you see this, please get in touch!

  • a and d? it's actually C and G chords or the simple C and D power chords

  • omg, i think it sucks comparing tu nirvana`s cover xd

  • Never rated the Vaselines, always found them cloyingly twee. Kurt Cobain saw beyond this, and Nirvana more than did the song justice.

  • healey raine farrell: kurt cobain was the worlds best, he was something beyond intelligence, just pure fucking brilliance.

  • the vaselines nd kurt C.

     R O C K S

  • I keep picturing a clown in the background riding his little bike and blowing the bicycle horn. Go Clowny!

  • vielen dank

  • this version has more armony and chords that nirvana's version...

  • @graziek cause they didn´t play the solo-part..the rest of the song are only A and D chords.

  • woops

  • cool to see a guy using vinyl, carry on my friend

  • Awsome, I guess i prfer nirvana, butthis is pretty far out sound.

  • sdfsdf

  • This just shows me Kurt's talent, fucking legendary Kurt , we miss you so much, i wonder what else you would have done...

  • @MrTokeHard probably shaved his head and start wearing tight black t shirts and touring with puddle of mudd

  • @buttboy99 yea right, you don't know Kurt

  • @MrTokeHard u gay

  • @buttboy99 oh im gay? coming from butt boy, ur so dumb man, that's all i can say, hahahahahahahaha

  • @MrTokeHard probably shaved his head, start wearing tight black t shirts and probably touring with puddle of mudd.

  • love how nirvana covered a band i grew up with, peace from scotland.

  • you listen to the original version of love buzz and this version and you can hear how Kurt put his hard core style into it.....

    nnirvannaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • PUHU PUHU♪

  • i love this but i personally prefer nirvanas version :)

  • I Nirvana hanno sistemato le loro canzoni O.o

  • didn't some american punk band cover this at some point? sounds familiar

  • @edwardcollinsjnr nirvana.......

  • @edwardcollinsjnr nirvana

  • @edwardcollinsjnr I think it was nirvana that covered it.

  • Kiss Kiss MOLLY's Lips.

What a stretch, considering the name of the song and all..?

  • Kiss Kiss Mommies lips ?

  • 素晴らしい♪ アップありがとうございます。

  • I remember this song from my childhood. My dad was a Nirvana fan back in the early 90s when I was born, and he was introduced to the Vaselines b/c of Nirvana.

I still love it, it's just too short. I like both versions about the same.

  • yeah dude...listen to Incesticide...he covers it

  • @tonkatsu69 troll

  • Like nirvana's version way better, and not just because it's nirvana

  • you have to remember this song came out before punk rock lol

  • Uh, this song came out in 1986. Punk started around 1976-77. So not really.

  • @dzjair .. this came out in the 80s. Punk dates back from the mid 70s. Sigh.

  • satanic music....

  • well, i think nirvana is better..

  • LMAO

    ftw= fuck the world

    XDXDXDXDXDXD ROFL

  • Je préfère cette version que celle de Nirvana. Les originaux sont presque toujours mieux aux reprises même quand celles-ci sont de Nirvana... ( I have stopped to write in english, 'cause it's really boring for me... So I'll the one to understand myself...^^)

  • Yeahh like what does FTW and Overated mean?

  • ftw = for the win

  • ftw = fuck the world

  • LOL! neva heard that, no it means Ftw. Computer nerds use it...

  • for the win you dumbass

  • No shit, sherlock.

  • you're funny

  • when ppl say that a bands overated i dont get it? people who dont like a band who have got famous are overated in there eyes?

  • Not really. Nirvana is one of my favorite bands. But it's not THAAT good. I mean, it is THAT good. But not as people think it is. Sure it's the best band in the 90's, but most people act like it's the best band ever, and that's not truth.

  • taste for music is subjective, it IS not any way, people FIND it so

  • Yeah, dude. And what I wrote over there is MY OPINION.

That comment is what I FIND of Nirvana.

  • Comment removed

  • Umm, just so you kno, Nirvana's version is a cover of this song. Because this band was one of Kurt's favorite bands. Learn your facts

  • Dude, The Vaseline's version IS the original. Kurt Cobain idolised them.

Shows what you know about Nirvana.

  • lol, I never said I knew a lot about Nirvana :P

I was wrong, they (Vaselines) made this song in 86, and it sounds like crap.

As far as I know Kurt liked a lot of bands, Black Flag, Ramones, Mudhoney, Melvins.

But I still think the vocal sounds really Really bad. :S

  • but The Vaselines where his favorite band and he was even friends with 1 of its members, Eugene Kelly

  • zombiesurvivorful, I've always heard he liked the breeders the best. IDK which one's true. Doesn't matter cuz both rule

  • He said on the Unplugged album that Leadbelly was his favorite.

  • no, he said ledbelly was his favorite entertainer, not fave band, and yes there is a difference

  • @soramic What does Leadbelly have to do with a Vaseline's song? I think you're confusing this with the song "In The Pines" (or "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?"). ;p

  • I'm almost certain that I was replying to someone else's comment, if not, I don't know what I was on because I know the difference between The Vaselines and Led Belly, only a madman wouldn't.

  • @soramic Again; what does Leadbelly have to do with the Vaselines? Your comment pertained to Cobain's favorite musician being Leadbelly (or something similar). This is a Vaselines song. So, your comment seems redundant. Go comment a Leadbelly song or something. ;p

  • and he named his daughter after the other, Frances McKee.

  • Yeah, his tastes are very widespread: LeadBelly, David Bowie, Sonic Youth, The Melvins, The Meat Puppets, Iggy Pop (right?), The Stooges, etc. He was quite into music, definitely one of the greatest ever! Personally I feel Nirvana is the last great band since the late 70s!

  • Don't forget Alice In Chains...the old stuff.

  • Maybe, but for me Nirvana version is better

  • Comment removed

  • やっぱ、Vaselinesいいなー。どんな曲でも独特のまったり感、チープ感(褒め言葉です)がたまりません。upありがとうございます。アナログ盤は今は買ってないんですが、なんか欲しくなりました~。

  • honk honk lol

  • Wow, you learn somethin new everyday. I thought Nirvana wrote this song. This version is sexy!

  • rad

  • i thought this was from the 60's the first time i herd her voice but then listend to son of a gun and it all made sense

  • bad record sorry

  • way different then Nirvana but good

  • hermoso!

  • jprefere nirvana

  • You are 22.....which means that when Nirvana covered this song you would have been 4 years old....which means....you know fuck all about anything son.

Stick to eating chorizo, little boy.

  • @g4ce1732 Ha ha, so right!

  • @g4ce1732 Troll more plz.......................

  • @g4ce1732 honestly, your head is up your ass. i am thirteen, but i know alot about about the 80's/90's! i hate people like you that think teens listen to shitty pop and are ignorant.

  • @beachbum812 when I was 10 I was into what my older cousins were into.... late 60s early 70s stuff... it still holds up.. now I'm an old fuck and think kids play the best shit. Who do you think invented Metal hard rock, Punk whatever.. Rock. Kids. They played long enough to get good.. by 18-20 they were in clubs.... etc. My teen sister turned me onto Nirvana in 89 when she was 11. I was 22. Preconceptions are for the ignorant.

  • @beachbum812 Let's see... Marcy's Playground, Trapt, Staind, STP, The Offspring, and Blink 182. Seems like you got a fair amount of horrible listening material in there buddy. But keep at it! Eventually you're taste will evolve.

  • @OpheliaImmortal Why thank you! ^_^ I love giving a fuck about what strangers think about my music! :D

  • @beachbum812 Why you saucy little mare...

  • @OpheliaImmortal thankyou for recognizing im a female....these things are very important to me...and yep! that's me! >:D

  • @beachbum812 Honestly I had no idea and your taste in music is lightyears beyond where mine was at 13. Just being a dick on the internet. I am going to force you to look up awesome 90's bands though. Check out Pavement's "Cut Your Hiar", Silver Jews' "Advice to the Graduate", Elliot Smith's "Rose Parade", Le Tigre's "Hot Topic", Sebadoh's "Total Peace", Sleater-Kinney's "Combat Rock", Neutral Milk Hotel's "Two Headed Boy", Palace's "Cinematographer", Belle and Sebastian's "...Feeling Sinister".

  • @OpheliaImmortal Don't ever change.

  • @TheNextSeanConnery I'd better change, it's boring to be stagnant when it comes to music.

  • @OpheliaImmortal Yeah, I totally get that and feel the same, I was only trying to compliment you.

  • @OpheliaImmortal Actually, I'm disappointed that you didn't mention Heatmiser.

  • @TheNextSeanConnery I don't really know much about Heatmiser except that Elliot Smith was in it. I think I listened to like two songs of theirs years ago and wasn't really into them. It's actually a good band?

  • @OpheliaImmortal Yes, they're actually really good. Check out "The Fix is in", "Antonio Carlos Jobim", "Idler", and you've probably heard "Half Right" by Elliott Smith but I think the original version done when he was in Heatmiser is better, that's just me though.

  • @TheNextSeanConnery Thanks, I'll check them out and get back to you. So I'm curious: what modern bands do you like?

  • @TheNextSeanConnery Hah! Those are awesome songs. It's Elliot Smith without him being able to close himself into his own snug songs. All of those songs just kind of gang up on him and force out really paranoid verses and gasps and he just has to go along with it. Kinda makes sense why he left considering his drug and anxiety issues now. Thanks though, Heatmiser seems really good if just for that atmosphere. So like I asked, what are your favorite modern bands?

  • @OpheliaImmortal Yeah, definitely, I don't listen to Heatmiser so much anymore but I felt like it kinda fit into that list. Anyway, modern bands? Well over the summer I was kinda listening to Wavves and Best Coast a lot but I guess that's just because they sorta fit the mood when I was driving around during the warmer weather, but I think a few bands I really like that you should check out are Beach Fossils, the album "What a pleasure" is really nice to just chill out with.

  • @OpheliaImmortal I also like Why? a lot they're kind of hard to explain but it's like an indie rock/trip hop sort of thing, I'm also really into Beirut, and a band I used t listen to a few years back I started getting into again, Voxtrot, if you get a chance check out the Raised By Wolves E.P. or their self titled album. Have you heard Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks' new album yet?

  • @TheNextSeanConnery Why? I haven't heard, Beirut I'm in love with and Voxtrot I was really into a few years ago. I have Mirror Traffic and I've listened to it a few times in my car. It's good, but Malkmus' stuff can sometimes be a little too similar for me to listen to it all the time and that album's one of those cases. I even have that problem with Bonnie Prince Billy for a lot of his 2000s albums even though they're objectively awesome. Do you know Vic Chesnutt, Tindersticks, and Pulp?

  • @OpheliaImmortal Ah, you should totally check them and Beach Fossils out. Alopecia and Elephant Eyelash are good Why? albums. I dunno, I thought it had a few good ones, I think my personal favorite is "Forever 28", but I can see how you think that for sure. Yeah, I could never really get into B'P'B for just that reason. I listened to Vic Chesnutt a while back, been meaning to redownload some of his stuff. I never heard Tindersticks though.

  • @TheNextSeanConnery But I know Pulp, I went through kind of a phase where I was listening to a lot of New Wave and stuff like that a few years back and I was pretty into them around then, haha.

  • @OpheliaImmortal Yeah, I just replied to myself with that last one... I'm not the least bit youtube savvy.

  • @beachbum812 Modest Mouse's "Trailer Trash", Bright Eyes' "June on the West Coast", DJ Shadow's "Midnight in a Perfect World", Guided by Voice's "I am a Scientist", Lil Kim's "Drugs" (Ok, not so much a great band but a great song), Bikini Kill's "Rebel Girls", Vic Chestnutt's "Bernadette and her crowd" (You're going to have to use something other than YouTube for this), The Breeder's "No Aloha", G. Love and Special Sauces' "Cold Beverages", Brian Jonestown Massacre's "Balld of Jim Jones."

  • @OpheliaImmortal I love modest mouse and bikini kill. i respect your music taste. and the stuff on my page is old...i am getting into indie rock...

  • @beachbum812 Nice! It might surprise you though to find out that I consider indy/alternative music to be an improvement on the 90's in a lot of ways. WAY WAY WAY more awesome bands, if not as many that are so readily apparent.

  • @beachbum812 2000's music, I mean.

  • @OpheliaImmortal i know...

  • Wow, this is the first I heard of the original. So different, and awesome in a completely different way. I have no idea which version I like better.

  • oh my days i love it !!! and yes of course i love nirvana's cover aswell

  • This version is sooooo different from Nirvana's cover of it! Better or worse? I guess it depends on which version you listened to first. I listened to Nirvana's version for years and this is the first time I've hear the original. I would have to listen to this version more to get used to it :-).

  • Hey bud, this is the real Mollys Lips, I like Kurt's cover but, this is the real deal. You won't have to listen to this for too long to realise this is better. Kurt loved the Vaselines, and so should you.

    Peace.

  • To be honest, I've never heard the any of the Vaselines songs. This was the first time I've heard them. Will I like them? Time will tell :-).

  • Kurt said this was de 2nd best rock band ever (the 1st one was The Beatles)

Personally i love both versions, they have different styles.. as "Son of a gun", the styles are very different, but very cool.

Anyway, don't talk about Nirvana only, this is a Vaselines video, if you like it, great, if you didn,t just turn around and go away.

  • Prefer Nirvana's cover,odd that.

  • kurt was inspired by the vaselines and the vaselines kick ass they are the bests

  • fucking cool song! i like nirvana's version better especially the one on mtv in new york. but i really appreciate what the vaselines did!! thanks to nirvana i felt in love with them.

  • yeah, Nirvanas cover is better. this is ok, but i like Nirvana's version better.

  • Kurt would disagree.

  • i m giong to have to go against the crowd here but it's Kurts voice and Krists bass that make it sound better for me at least.

still awesome band especially the son of a gun song

  • the vaselines are much much much better than nirvana. the only problem that they had was that eugene and frances based the band around their relationship. they would've been HUGE if they came together when nirvana was in their absolute prime

  • excellent!;)

  • I love this band!!

  • i think it doesn't matter which version is the best

both are great in their own way

  • this is a very good song... nirvana`s version is very good but these are the composers so... shut the fuck up!

  • my god. please stop this song! Nirvana is Best! :)

  • My god. Please stop breathing... Kurt loved the Vaselines because he knew great music when he heard it.

  • Kurt loved the Vaselines, in the interview The Bark Not the Bite, he said that they had 90% of his heart, so please be quiet and respect good music...

  • @TrueCandyCaneChild it is certainly a good track, but it's not that because kurt cobain liked it it's good music, weirdo

why is everyone so obsessed with kurt? i mean sure he was a great artist but he was not a god

  • @DevilDoll95 cause kurt was a hero. whos a hero now? they all fuckin left!

  • @AbsintheColour no they are in the Underground. and they are just like you and I.

  • nirvana is way better

  • Comment removed

  • Hate that damn clown's nose.

  • Had never heard of these before. One of my new favourites.

  • wish toto would get back together

  • we are friends with frances's sister

  • burt cotrain sings this, the trumpet player in nuvarna

  • please learn to spell

  • where did i go wrong

  • sweet

  • every song the vaselines did was about sex. and they sound so cute and catchy. good times.

  • nirvana is better, but thats just my taste, u cant really compare, they r like, 2 dif styls entirly, it almost makes me want to do a heavy mettle cover of like, a jonas brothers song yaknow? lol. kurt's was rock, and this is kinda to me like werid hippy pop.

  • This was British twee indie pop. It sort of represented the adrogynous, childish side of indie rock, whereas Nirvana represented the ultra-masculine, hard rockish side. Which is kind of ironic, being that Cobain despised masculine stuff. It's one of the things that drove him to suicide, representing things he despised, while his idols whom he considered brilliant were ignored by the public.

  • Comment removed

  • the beatles, black flag, the sex pistols, etc, etc were ignored by the public?

  • I've never actually found Nirvana to be that masculine. The heavily distorted guitar and shouted vocals would lead you to think that but it was really meant to be a reflection of the anger and frustration and the want to break free caused by being outcast and scrawny. The songs were much more often about not getting laid then about sexual conquest. Most people who take influence from Nirvana tend to miss that point though, and so a lot of cock rock followed in their footsteps.

  • spoken like a true fan

  • wow, you said that very well sollys3. kurt was very poetic.(no homo and not infering that hes lyrics and stuff sounded gay)

  • What a smart thought about Nirvana's music. Thank you Sollys3, you really make an effort to understand what's behind the music. That is pretty hard to find these days.

  • Comment removed

  • sorry i like nirvanas better

  • her voice sounds rapeish. i prefer nirvanas versions of all their songs haha.
