  • great

  • what can i say awesome

  • Great job, thanks man.

  • what amp are you playing through

    thanks

  • i love you!

  • Awesome job..great sound and bass

  • i've been considering to buy a hofner but i've been hearing that the bass sounds very dry and the notes end short.

  • @Cockoblock it's a different kind of bass. It's not like the others. It have a low substain(the notes duration is short ;) ) and a elevated action. Is a fantastic and very particolar istrument; impossible to be slapped and vit a unic sound. If you like this kinf of sound you can buy it. But if you want a bass that have a lot of diffedent sounds and with you can play a lot of music kind, you have to find anoter bass man ;)

  • @funkytarro32 damn, i really like the shape and design. there's nothing wrong with the way it sounds but that's not the sound im looking for. thanks for the insight. cheers.

  • @Cockoblock how i've just sayed, it's a special kind of bass. You can love it, but if you don't play 60s music, or jazz it is a totally useless istrument ;)

You can buy a Jazz Bass *-* Is mi favorite bass. Really fantastic, in my opinion.

  • @Cockoblock

what kind of sound are you looking for?

these are what I'm sure many bassists consider as "classic" bass guitars with of course their "classic" tones/sound.

    fender jazz bass

    fender precision bass

    rickenbacker 4001 or 4003

    musicman stingray

I have played and owned all of these except a rickenbacker 4001, which is basically the old version of the rickenbacker 4003 model. never played a hofman though, never seen one in real life too, i live in the PI so it is very rare here.

  • @Cockoblock excuse me for the very bad english xD

  • @Cockoblock .........Thats how Hofners are that explains Pauls style, with flats you really lose sustain, I have 2 hofners 1 with round wounds and 1 with flats. Hofner is a nice bass but depending on string types it changes your style of playing

  • You really are. Just kidding, you rock.

  • Excellent playing! It appears that you have experience! I`m noticed how you hold the instrument.

And you play easy and relaxed .. all the congratulations, buddy!

  • cant hear it

  • re issue? sounds great!

  • i used to play bass in a Beatles type band. We did this song and i played the harmonica part too. Try doing that at the same time.

  • NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @eldiablo1221

I would go and get the hofner so you can show it off saying i got the same guitar as Paul McCartney!

  • your hands were made for playing bass

  • idk if its just me, but it looks like you kinda got a george harrison/ paul mccartney hair style going on there, haha nice i wish i could grow my hair like that, oh yah good bass playing btw :)

  • Very well done!

  • btw, great playing! =)

  • hey roneyrock, which do u perfer?

    ur hofner, or ur rickenbacker?

i cant deside between the two, and with my budget i cant get both right now. looking for opinion.

  • They both have a very different sound and feel (in my opinion) so for me it wouldn't be a "what I like more" thing but a "what do I need for the sound I want" thing. You could research them both to find which one would benefit you most for the time being though.

Sorry for my very unhelpful answer. And answering a question I wasn't asked...... <:] party hat.

  • the rickenbacker is stalking him ROFL

  • EXCELLENT !! I could watch and listen to your vid's all day long. Please keep 'em coming. Thanks for posting.

  • Very nice job!

  • how much was it?

  • you should check on eBay :) they have loads of these :D

    xxxxxx

  • i see a RickenBaker behind you :D

  • one of my fave songs from beatles

  • Great job!

I understand the point that everyone that has a Hofner plays Beatles songs BUT, that is the joy of owning a Hofner. It's paying homage to some of the greatest bass parts ever written. I myself, like hearing people on youtube playing Beatles songs on a Hofner or Ric bass. If they were to play Flea on a Hofner

( especially with flatwound strings) that would be silly.

  • Why does everyone on youtube with a hofner bass have to play a beatles song? is that why you guys bought one? to be like paul?

  • yup

  • get your own fuckin' style.

  • Actually, I think it's to be easily found. Almost everyone associates Hofner with Paul, so I wouldn't make a video of me playing a Hofner to the Immigrant Song. It wouldn't have 20k views.

  • That's exactly my point!!!!

  • It's the sount the thing makes. Flatwound strings on a hollow body guitar makes it sound just as it needs to.

  • I didn't ask.

  • so basically your saying that paaul mccartneyy should be the only person alive with a hofner'? i think tht people want the beatles sound and to get tht they use the same instruments.

  • No, fuck face! That's not what i'm saying. I'm saying everyone on here with a Hofner bass has to play a Beatles song. why? Because it's so identifiable with Paul? Like if they're thinking "since I have a Hofner I can only play Beatles songs with it".

  • i understand what ur saying now, but maybe they should play like a variety of songs with beatles songs aswell.

  • Yes, thank you!

  • You are so right. I have a replica beatlebass. An Alden beatlebass, made in china. It was cheap. Only € 339,00. But the first songs I learned to play on it was Smells Like Teen Spirit and Psycho Killer.

  • Strap: Same as McCartney

    Bass: Same as McCartney

    Style: Same as McCartney

    Hair: Same as McCartney

    Hands: Inverted. Damn!

You're awesome, the same style as the genious who made this bass famous. GOOD JOB!

  • solo falta que digas, papada, same as Mcca

  • Papada: same as McCartney.

    Algo mas?

  • HAIR?

  • Underarm hair: same as McCartney

    algo mas?

  • i like how you play it with the same mccartney style...if only you were left handed

  • Roneyrock, you just keep doing what your doing man!

  • I really cannot find a Hofner for sale anywhere :S

  • to BlueDiscProductions: Yeah, they're pretty strange now, i saw one in Guitar Center once, but they just kept it for a week. Which sucks.

  • awesome

i have no idea how paul sang the chorus and played this at the same time, but i guess thats why he's paul

    solid video man :)

  • fuck up and die , you redneck goat rooting shitbag hillbilly cock smoker.. this dude is wicked awesome on the bass , you wouldnt know shit from clay ... fucken tool

  • is an icon model?

  • Very, very good. Impressive tone and gorgeous design.

  • you truly are xD nice cover!

  • Is this a Hofner or is a Icon-B Hofner ?

  • Very impressive and what a great sound, too! What amp are you using?

  • Perfect Bass+Great Player+Amazing Song = Amazing Cover!!!

  • caralho, mano, ownou total ai hein

e qto custa esse hofner ai?

    putz q foda

  • where did you get the tabs?

  • eh, I wouldn't go with tabs, they're never right. But this bass line isn't hard to listen for, try it! ")

  • great stuff, got the vintage Hofner Macca sound, bloody good playing too!!

  • yes you are!

  • How long do you have to play it to get to the point like that and how much does hofner cost

  • that model usually sells in the 2000s or at least when i was shopping for it.

  • oh god no, The vintage 63 sells for 2000. This is a Hofner Icon-B I should know, I have one.

  • oh, my mistake then

  • Hey Roneyrock,

you are the reason i pick up my lefthanded

Hofner again after 12 years. You're great!

  • Que buen hofner tengo el mismo jajajja

toco con la zurda como paul soy igualito y soy su fan Numero1

  • muy bien!

  • love the bass guitar !! fucking nice

  • You have a natural feel for bass. And the Hofner sounds good.

  • i play guitar and i always wondered: is bass easier to play than guitar? i mean i look sooo easier but i'm pretty sure it's not.

  • No, sorry mate, bass is much more harder. Also the variety of techniques on bass is much bigger then on the guitar...

I personaly play guitar for 6 full years and bass for 1, and trust me, its much more harder, thought once you start you cant stop :) but give it a try... :P

  • I play bass and struggle with 6-string guitar and I think bass is MUCH easier to play. Now that's me. I feel I was born to play bass so it's somewhat natural to begin with for me. On the other hand, the 6-string is a nightmare. Now before my fellow bass players start spamming me, it should be obvious to play ANY instrument well takes PLENTY O' practice. I just think you can play respectable bass sooner than you can play respectable 6-string.

  • hmm I think it's easier to play bass in a band but it gets very hard to play like solo or lead...just my opinion

  • It is easy to play but hard to master.

  • depends. actually this is my first song i ever learned on bass. to actually "play" a bass you really have to play more than continuous 8th notes and be able to play with and without a pick. also there are slap tap and chord techniques that are different than guitars. try tapping on a bass. unless you turn the bass of really loud it can be difficult.

  • i forgot about tone haha. tone is the hardest to master because bass isnt a plug and play thing. it can take decades to find a good tone for a bass that is also unique.

  • er, i started out on guiatar, and i played for two years- i guess i got pretty good but then i got a bass and fell in love. It wasn't so much it was easier- just more natural.

  • @placidesulfurik Well they're both the same in my opinion it just depends on what your playing,

E.G. Playing a solo on guitar is harder than playing a chorus on bass

    and vice versa

  • @placidesulfurik no. look up i saw her standing there and try playing bass like that for 3 minutes. and sing. to answer your question, i stopped trying to compare them because they are so different. how easy it is all depends on how you play the best. i play the best using my fingers (i can't use a pick to save my life) but i still play guitar well, but bass is easier. now if you have girly fingers and cant use anything but a pick, playing funkier bass would be more difficult. Question answered.

  • @placidesulfurik Well, I would say, if you can play guitar, you will already know how to play (like I do), or it will be easier to learn basss, than it would be vice versa (Bass-Guitar).

  • @placidesulfurik playing bass is easy, but being a good bass player it's something tottaly different and sorry for my english ;D

  • did you make any tabs for this?

  • You are amazing! you have coolest bass, the hofner. i have the same bass. ( NOT THE Copy one). can you please make some tabs? once again... YOU ROCK!!

  • very good but not as good as me check it out

  • Very good...can you give-me the tablaturas?

  • Very good..

    can you give the tablaturas?

  • nice,is it the re issue from 63 or 62 model? the sunburst looks pretty nie on your bass.dig your rickenbacker too.bye.i'm waiting for your answer now! see U.

  • Really groovy bass line, mind posting more videos?

  • Gotta Love that Double Chin!!!

  • you crack me up!

  • you got the beat dude !

    smoothly played!

  • that sounds so nice

im getting a bass for birthday

    :)

  • Whoa! Nice, is that an old Hofner? I got a 60's unit. Trying to get it dated exactly.

  • Very good. One of my favorite Beatle bass lines. You get a really nice tone from your Hofner. Is it a reissue - with the Pyramid strings? OK, you got me wanting to learn this one. Thanks for posting.

  • yes, reissue. i use LaBella 0.50 flatwound strings. Thanks!
