He was constantly sick to the point where he got gray hair in his teens, if you look at pictures of him from early 1960 before he got the Beatles haircut, he has a gray streak on the right side of his head, plus he became a massive alcoholic for almost 30 years. He said at his worst he was drinking 2 quarts of whiskey a day and doing every drug imaginable and here he is at 70 looking not a day over 50.
