I have a cheap resonator too, I bought a beard spider cone for it and it is a different guitar now. It costs around 50 bucks with shipping costs. You should consider it. Put the guitar on a whole new level.
Explain me one thing, you have it tuned in high bass open G (GBDGBD), you're using a simple strings set or a proper one?
I'm afraid to tune my 6th to a G and try this tunning because it's meant to be in E like in standard tuning, and putting it 2 notes above won't bust it?
@caralhosvosfodam I'm tuned with phosphor-bronze and my top string is a 56-gauge. The first time I tuned it I worried, but now I know it takes it just fine. Also, while it's 2 notes above, it's only really 1 full measure.
Other than a tiny touch of reverb, the only thing different is the guitar, better camera quality, and I've improved my right hand damping technique since I used to play the AJ-100.
The resonator has a metallic twang that I have become addicted to.

@caralhosvosfodam To be clear, I meant that G is only 1 full tone above E

wow, i think now i've learnt to appreciate trully the sound of a resonator.
Pretty awsome, still very different sound from what you got with aj-100 in other slide video you played.
What sound effect you used to sound so west?

Really like the look of the vid. Suits the music well.
I've seen a few vids with the black frame around it. What prog do you use for that?
