No, it's still SC route 277 to this day. However, once upon a time, it was planned to be part of an inner-city Columbia interstate loop, to link up with I-126--never happened, tho.

I remember that theme song the most from WIS. It was the same theme used on WPEC-12 in West Palm Beach Florida at the time when I lived in Florida and spent my summers in South Carolina while growing up.
Do you have any videos from the other stations in Columbia? WNOK/WLTX-19 or WOLO-25. Around 1980, they only had 6:00 newscasts. WIS was the only 11:00, had the 7:00 but no 6:00. I think at 6 they had a game show and later Entertainment Tonight in the early 80's until they added more newscasts.
