Yes it was somewhat inaccurate & very disappointing - the book portrays a mythical Cork that perhaps never existed in the world of the physical but there was a magic to the place at one time.
However only during summer nights could you see the milky way , the smog , cloud & high latitude made it impossible to see much in Winter - although Orion shined through.
