What a great example of how little a 300 means in today's bowling world. Plus, a great example of what a joke the "sport" of bowling has become. Bowlers have no idea what it means to play a real sport. You don't see anyone in any other sport executing what's supposed to be the sport's most important goal doing so with a towel. Now I can honestly say that I'm ashamed to be a person who bowls and claims to be pretty good at it.

@perfect1150 This is obviously recreational league and/or a ProAm made for the amusement of the fellow regular bowlers. If you think bowling is not a competitive sport now, i invite you to try the sports oil patterns sanctioned by the FIQ. Try throwing a 15/16 lbs ball with consistency over 60 games, adjusting to invisible minute changing conditions, mental stress of competition and shot-making under preassure.
@jonheres I am a competitive bowler and have bowled on sports oil patterns. Unfortunately, that's not the reality of the GAME of bowling. Bowlers these days don't want to know how good (or bad) they really are, they just want to be able to kick the ball down the lane and shoot 300. That's a fact and you know it. Bowling is a joke and I'm ashamed of being a bowler. If bowling was such a great SPORT as you claim, explain why membership in organized leagues has dropped 80% over the last 30 years.

That's how bowling should be. In the words of Jack Nicholson, "You can't handle the truth"! Well, that's the typical league bowler. They don't want to know how bad they really are. I average 225 on house patterns, and I know I'm not that good. I'd much rather average 190 on a sport shot.

I don't hear participants of ANY other sport bitching about having to execute a specific shot to get the desired result like I do from bowlers. Bowlers just think if the put the ball on the lane it should just walk to the pocket and all the pins should fall down. If you're a real bowler, you'd admit that I'm right.

Stand on the approach, throw 12 shots at different speeds on different lines and shoot 300. What a challenge. The sport, which it isn't, so the game, is a joke. I don't enjoy throwing bad shots and still being able to hit the pocket. I love sport leagues, but in my area, bowlers are too big of pussies to bowl them.
